Together as co-presidents, Andreae and Herwick will bolster the non-scripted studio’s full production and post-production capabilities globally.
“When Mark first approached me about the role, it was clear that both he and the wider team at Range had managed to combine the passion and energy of a start up with the heft and breadth of a much more mature organization,” Andreae said. “With a stellar client list to help inspire us and an already fascinating slate on which to build, I am looking forward to joining Mark at such an exciting stage in the studio’s evolution and helping expand our overall offering.”

With Gadsby as curator and host, “Gender Agenda” will give the stage to Jes Tom, Alok, Asha Ward, Chloe Petts, DeAnne Smith, Krishna Istha and Mx. Dahlia Belle.
Tom has written for Max’s “Our Flag Means Death” and recently wrapped the off-Broadway run of “Less Lonely,” their one-person show presented by Elliot Page. Cara Delevingne Says Concerning Paparazzi Images Led to Rehab Stay, Sobriety Journey: “I Was Not Ok”
Cara Delevingne sparked widespread concern after paparazzi images captured at a private airport in L.A. last September showed the model and actress looking disheveled and acting erratically upon returning from Burning Man. Now, in a revealing cover interview with Vogue, the 30-year-old said she’s grateful for those images because it sent her on a path to rehab and sobriety.
“I hadn’t slept. I was not Ok,” she told Vogue writer Chioma Nnadi. “It’s heartbreaking because I thought I was having fun, but at some point it was like, Ok, I don’t look well. You know, sometimes you need a reality check, so in a way those pictures were something to be grateful for.”
For the interview, conducted in late January, Delevingne confessed that she was four months sober after a stint in rehab late last year. “I’ve had interventions of a sort, but I wasn’t ready.

The last year has been a chastening one for television, with budgets nosediving and streamers pulling back on the mega-spending of yesteryear to offset financial disappointments. But the investment in eye-catching doc series has continued despite the threat of global recession, and the unscripted market now finds itself at a crossroads as it splinters into expensive, premium fare and low-budget, high-volume returners.
“There’s still big appetite from commissioners,” says one prominent UK doc maker, while a German-based factual producer adds, “What’s being sold are very commercial projects – bankable names and directors.”
Dogwoof Head of Sales Cleo Veger believes there’s a bigger divide than ever between the sales of lower-budget festival docs and premium projects. “There’s a drive towards IP and buyers are talking about ‘fewer, bigger swings’,” she adds.

In the Hulu docuseries Planet Sex, cameras follow model/LGBTQ icon Cara Delevingne as she goes on a enlightening and sometimes humorous journey exploring human sexuality around the world. And occasionally, she learns a thing or two about her own.
Here, directors Jessica Chermayeff and Ana Veselic talk about the goal of the show (streaming now on Hulu), some of the places they visited and, ahem, body parts they studied, and what they hope to tackle if Planet Sex returns for a second season.
Deadline What was that first meeting like with Cara?
Jessica Chermayeff I remember it very vividly. Of course it was in the Covid era, so our first meeting was over Zoom. She had just wrapped Carnival Row. She was incredibly excited about this project and was teaming with so many ideas. It was our job to try and capture them and figure out how to put them into action.

Cara Delevingne had already hoped to find a project exploring human sexuality before “Planet Sex” was pitched to her — though she didn’t imagine that would mean bringing a camera with her to have her blood drawn post-orgasm, nor that she’d attend a seminar about masturbation technique.
Which is exactly where Hulu documentary series “Planet Sex” took her. “This was always something I was interested in doing, broaching this subject. I just didn’t really understand how, or what that was going to take,” the model and actor says. When she was pitched about the show, “It wasn’t even a yes. It was just straight away: ‘When are we doing this?'”
But “Planet Sex” isn’t solely about activities typically reserved for the private sphere. Each episode explores a different question about sexual orientation and gender identity, through which Delevingne also examined what it means for people...

If you were an adolescent with occasional bouts of insomnia in the early 2000s, you probably grew up watching Real Sex, the groundbreaking HBO series that aired in the wee hours before softcore time-travel movies and re-airings of Problem Child 3. Real Sex was truly revolutionary: it was frank, straightforward, and replete with the types of dimpled bodies of various hues and shades that are sorely absent from our TV screens and Instagram feeds. Perhaps most importantly, however, it didn’t take itself too seriously, imbuing its subject matter with the silliness that it deserves.

Fatima Salaria is exiting Fremantle-backed The Apprentice indie Naked after three years in post.
The former BBC and Channel 4 commissioner has been MD since 2020 and will leave in the spring, with her replacement appointed in due course.
Salaria has overseen a period of growth during her tenure in which Naked merged with fellow Fremantle label Boundless and was responsible for the likes of BBC Three’s The Rap Game, Netflix’s Snowflake Mountain and ITV’s Ghislaine, Prince Andrew and the Paedophile. Other notable successes include the Cara Delevingne-helmed Planet Sex for BBC Three and Hulu.
Fremantle UK CEO Simon Andreae said the team will “miss her greatly.”
“It’s been wonderful to see Naked grow and expand under her leadership – she has helped set a new path for the company and she leaves with a raft of exciting new projects in the pipeline for Naked,” he added.

Supermodel-actress Cara Delevingne said in her new documentary ‘Planet Sex’, which sees her travel the globe to explore gender, sexuality and bedroom fantasies that men lack the “right tools” to satisfy women sexually.
Delevingne says on the show while exploring female orgasms, and the lack of them during heterosexual intercourse: “I do feel that generally, men are not equipped with the right tool to be able to handle women, especially sexually, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
“I don’t wanna go into the art of making a woman c** but it’s a lot more complicated and a lot more fun. I get it, it’s a lot more complicated for a woman to have to tell you, ‘You’re not doing it right, you have to sit down and listen to what I say’. Yeah, it’s an ego killer that most men can’t handle.”

Spend any time talking with those in the documentary sector, and they’ll lament how hard it is to land commissions without having a celebrity aboard – a precondition that invariably impacts on journalistic rigour.
If you’re seeking the greenlight for a magazine show on 21st century sexuality, however, attaching model-turned-actor Cara Delevingne, polysexual pin-up and three-time Eyebrows of the Year winner, isn’t the worst idea. The pros and cons of “Planet Sex,” a new six-part Hulu/BBC co-production (Hulu’s version will air in 2023 as Americans will get a different version of the show that’s still being edited), are tied up with Delevingne’s game, anything-goes persona, here recruited in a bid to distract 18-to-25-year-olds from Tinder-pounding. As Cara puts it early on: “Let’s get the 101 on the power packed in our pants.” Anyone cringing should know: a) you’re likely outside the target audience,...

Interior designer Melanie Rose specializes in something very intimate and unique in the home renovation space: She designs sex rooms. Remember Tommy Lee’s dream of a boudoir playground in “Pam & Tommy,” and how the racy redesign led to his sex tape being stolen? That’s what Rose does for a living — well, except she doesn’t steal her clients’ personal belongings.
When she’s not planning other folks’ bedrooms, Rose is in her own home writing a series of erotic novels based on that career. It was under the guise of pitching those books as a scripted series that her manager approached Adam Sher, president of ITV America. But Sher had another idea: Why not turn her life and work into a TV-ma-rated reality show?
And so Netflix’s “How to Build a Sex Room” was born. In the show, Rose visits people who have lost some of the...
