Old School SVU!
wrenleung20 November 2020
Who murdered who? This episode goes back to the "Whodunit?" formula that they used a lot in earlier SVU seasons, and I loved it. And what a treat to see Pippa Cox back! Since this case involved children, I was really hoping she would guest star. I'm very pleased.

Episode good, mask bad

The episode felt pretty solid with some old-school SVU. But again, the way they managed the masks... Horrifying. People really just couldn't keep the damn things on. The worst was when Olivia was at the hospital talking to the mom without a mask. A. HOSPITAL. I wan't to scream every time someone takes their mask off for no reason.

RBG IS HONOURED

Great to see the references to Ruth Bader Ginsberg in this show. The female judge wore a white lace collar over her robe and there was a photo of RBG in the captain's office. Nice touches.

Personally, I liked this episode. Yes. There has been episode in the past where tge kid did it to protect his mom but the show is more or less based on actual incidents and wouldn't you know. Yea, that's happened more than once in the world! Should they only do 1 episode of rape? 1 episode of child abuse? Where would the show be then? Done before even 1 season. I think too many ppl would rather just look for things to nit pick and complain about to leave bad reviews instead of actually just enjoying the show. Most ppl that complain about episodes are the same ones who leave a bad review on dozens of episodes and even say things like tge show is so horrible now, please let this be the last season. If you think the show sucks so much, you do have the option of NOT watching it anymore!.... just saying.....instead of spending all thus time watching a show you think sucks and then more time complaining about it , it's so simple, just change the it to a different show..... I never not watch something based on if other ppl say it wasn't good because everyone has a different opinion. Yes, it had alot of political views here n there but, they have to add certain stuff based on what's going on in the world wether they want to or not and if you haven't noticed, EVERY show, even half hour comedy shows have changed to add all that in or the show will get dropped. Instead of looking for stuff to complain about, maybe ppl should just enjoy the program they are watching. No show is perfect every episode!

Episode 2202

Warning: Spoilers
Well, better than last week's episode, but that's not saying much. The actors were annoying here and the story was just kind of flat.

Another Dopey Episode that Ignores Years of Continuity
bkkaz20 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
So far this season, SVU episodes are slightly better than the soap-opera-y dreck of the past few seasons, but that doesn't mean they still don't have a serious case of the stupids. For example, more than once in this episode, people tread right over standard interrogation practices established over and over in past episodes. At one point, Carisi -- not quite as annoying as he used to be but still a pinhead -- nonetheless questions a little girl without her parent present. Then Benson and Rollins keep firing away at her mother even while the attorney says they're done -- when questions are supposed to cease. They're still casting actors who overdo every line, every expression, with all the subtlety of a kick to the face. Lastly, there's the issue of wearing masks to prevent COVID-19. One moment they're wearing them, the next they're not or pulling them down while having a conversation in a hospital hallway! It's the kind of phony nonsense meant to say they're honoring precautions when, in fact, they're demonstrating exactly the kind of behavior that leads to disease spread. Last week's episode about race was so forced and uneven (it trumpeted the need to be aware of racism against the African-American characters but treated the Asian-American ones with indifference and like bad, fresh-off-the-boat stereotypes) that the writers should be fined. This one was even dumber and just a redux of other SVU episodes.

Rehash of an old episode
marysammons-4222020 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The writers either have amnesia or have just run out of original ideas. But this is practically the same episode as Pop from season 12. Abusive boyfriend/ husband is killed and no one is sure if it's the mother or the son. At least this one had a resolution at the end instead of well we can't prosecute either of you so you can tell us but the still clam up.
