Final Season?
skaterryan1226 October 2022
I used to be a massive Walking Dead fan and still watch it since I never gave up and this happened to be the end, but my lord this is just ridiculous. The writing has fallen off so hard it's actually embarrassing. The dialogue and scenarios are awful. Getting tired of the bullets being sprayed everywhere to hit absolutely nothing too. I think we get the point of Negan trying to build trust back too. You've done this for what feels like forever and now the show is wrapping up so just get on board with him already. How in the world is this a final season when almost nothing is happening? This has to be the most lackluster final season ever and I'm pretty sure that's due to the trillion spin-offs Scott Pimple has in store for us even though all we asked for was Rick's return. All I know is characters better start dropping quick! Also don't get the point of re-I traducing variant zombies to not use them again...yet. Three episodes left! That's all I'm saying! Eugene and Gabriel would have been goners by now if I was in charge! Finale better have a high body count.

Just waiting for the end.
pungster27 October 2022
I was so excited to see the last season of this show. And I was anxiously waiting for the last section of this season to come out just so I could finish this show. Now, it just feels like a chore to get through these last few episodes. And it doesn't even feel like a final season. The way it's going right now, this could have been a middle season. Somehow it just feels lackluster and un-energetic.

The danger level is also inconsistent. One minute our beloved heroes are unstoppable tanks that now down all who dare to get in their path, and then the next minute they're getting punked by a bunch of Commonwealth stormtrooper wannabes. And it only happens that way once in a while to make the story go forward. I know that most of our main heroes are highly skilled, battle-hardened warriors, but they succeed against the Commonwealth's military way too often. Are those guys just plucked off of the street and given armor and weapons? So, in short, plot armor is very present in this final season in a show where that didn't use to matter.

With how dumb this last section of the final season feels, it's left me feeling less and less hopeful that Rick will make a comeback. It would just ruin him at this point, most likely.

So, now it's just an endurance race, so to speak. Just hold out long enough to make it to the finish line. Hopefully the last few are better.

Barely intelligible

They've really given up on the audio post, haven't they? This is the worst dialogue I've heard in a long time. Perhaps they couldn't afford to ADR. I can hear the noise reduction but I still can't hear all the words. It's not that hard, but it does take a budget and it's clearly not going on the audio. I'll just repeat all that to make up the quota: They've really given up on the audio post, haven't they? This is the worst dialogue I've heard in a long time. Perhaps they couldn't afford to ADR. I can hear the noise reduction but I still can't hear all the words. It's not that hard, but it does take a budget and it's clearly not going on the audio.

preparing myself for a very bad finale
Barneyy7127 October 2022
Iam writing this as a big fan of the show not a hater, I cant believe there is people who gave like 8 9 10 stars for the last episodes.

Do you think you deserve this guys? Are you really enjoying this mess? Every episode I say just give the show a chance and waiiiittttt they will fix evreything and now there is only 3 episodes left!!!

From season 1 until now, I think this is the worst part of the entire show you can literally sum the last 5 episodes in like 30 mins.

I will not even rate the episode because I think a 1 is too much for this lazy writing and again for everyone enjoying the show right now I hope you sit with yourself for like a minute and just ask yourself DO I DESERVE THIS AFTER WAITING ALL OF THESE YEARS?

Warning: Spoilers
Nothing really bad to say about this episode, but particularly I just wish we would get something surprising. How are they still repeating the exact same thing over and over again?

And what is the Commonwealth doing? I thought that they were trying to put on a facade that they are a unifying group where the best interests of the people are there? They're just throwing that out the window to do a Nazi storyline?

I wish we had more of Rosita here. I didn't think I would say that, but that character has been making the absolute best of the minimal scenes she has been given this season, and remains a standout of the long-running characters.

Felt Like Walking Dead Again
MamadNobari9723 October 2022
This episode really took me back to earlier seasons when Walking Dead was about this group running away in the woods from the psychopaths and killers.

It's been a long time since we've had an episode like this where you actually feel like they're in trouble and the threat is real. That's not to say Commonwealth hasn't been a threat or it's a bad storyline, I do think it's a neat idea to have someone making a community and trying to act like everything is normal and makes her own little fascist country, but I think the execution of this idea has been somewhat mediocre and disappointing at time and plot lines like this one are more interesting and thrilling and feel like the Walking Dead we long for. It felt like I'm back in season 5 watching the gang trying to escape the cannibals.

This episode was really well-done aside from some goofy decisions they've been making in the writing for the past 3 seasons, but one thing that makes me worried about how it's gonna end is that there are only 3 episodes left and we're still stuck with this Commonwealth stuff and it's obvious that they're probably gonna end the show with the Commonwealth storyline and they might not even bring Rick and Michonne back, because if they wanted to do they would've done it already, unless they're gonna do a quick "cameo" surprise thing with them and have no buildup to it.

What I'm saying is, I wish that they could've cut some storylines and stuff from inside the Commonwealth and reached this point we're in now sooner so we could've had the third part of this season dedicated to whatever Michonne was doing this whole time.

Anyway, I thought this episode was really engaging and fun to watch and the stormtroopers didn't act like the complete idiots they sometimes are, but I still thought so many stuff that moved the plot felt really forced as always, like the bike scene which at first was baffling and immersion-breaking, but I'll give them a pass since the result of it wasn't what I was thinking. They do this a lot with the writing, they make these experienced characters who have been alive in this post-apocalyptic world dumb for brief moments in order for the plot or the action to happen. And I know you can't have a plot with everyone being smart and quick-thinking all the time, but I just expect these things to feel like they're happening naturally and not feel forced and contrived. And I really thought Ezekiel's lines in this episode were really goofy and he was acting like he's been 20 years in Shawshank or something or he's performing a live play with those dialogues.

The episode was enjoyable and engaging, the action was good and they did a good job of giving more screen time to the stormtroopers too and also giving some of them personality too, though they are your run-of-the-mill "bad guy" characterization, but it was nice and added to the episode a lot.

It's really interesting to see where they go with this storyline, and I think we all know how this is gonna end, but more about where they're gonna go with Rick and Michonne and how they're actually gonna end this show and is it gonna be another GOT or just a decent ending.

"Outpost 22" offers good to great acting but sadly not much else, more a build up for the last episodes
Holt34431 October 2022
The premise of episode 11.21 titled "Outpost 22": Maggie, Gabriel and Rosita manage to escape and eventually link up with Daryl and Carol as they track the Commonwealth's train to the mysterious Outpost 22. Jim Barnes penned the script for 11.21 and I think it wasn't the same quality as the previous episodes but okay, the dialogue wasn't good though. I also think they failed Maggie in this episode, making her less capable and not being smart in her actions. Two characters who had good and believable dialogue was Negan and Ezekiel, their conversation and the acting between the two actors were great, a highlight even. Overseen by Angela Kang, the writing for this episode is mostly consistent of the previous episodes in Part 1 and 2, but the direction she's going in is far from what I would have done. The episode uses the big budget wisely, making it brilliant both technically and the acting and so on, the camera work are brilliant and visually a great episode, an overall impressive production. There's so many shots in this episode that are brilliantly shot, such a stunning looking episode, but that doesn't make a great episode.

Tawnia McKiernan directed "Outpost 22" and being a guest director (except for directing an episode of Fear TWD) she actually did quite a good job. McKiernan's vision and direction were alright, nothing special here. The episode has tension beneath the script and direction but is executed poorly. One thing that haven't changed are the cinematography and the other departments, especially the makeup and special effects departments. The attention to detail and all the shots in the nature, they nailed it on the camera side of things. The cinematography is once again breathtaking and incredible, just right for the show, the way it was shot and so on, simply brilliant. The sets were detailed and perfect, and so are the art and production design. I also found the effects to be fantastic in this episode, practical effects always makes it so more real, and The Walking Dead is known for their practical effects and they didn't let us down for this episode. Superb sound design and a musical score both gripping and dramatic. It's one of many things on the technical side of things that the show succeeds perfectly with.

The Commonwealth arc is a big part of this episode so if you're not a fan of that, there might not be a lot to your liking, if non at all. The plot moves forward slowly and honestly it feels like nothing happened, it's a filler with good acting and poorly executed action sequences. But the acting was good, my favorite performances being: Lauren Cohan as Maggie Greene, though the writing for her character in this week's episode was bad, her performance remained extremely strong. Khary Payton as Ezekiel and Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Negan. But thats it, really.

This episode kept the story going much more but it doesn't feel like they're building to a grand finale, it feels so basic and the story is getting interesting, it's also not the direction I want the show to go but there's nothing we can do about it except for enjoying what we're getting. I hope Angela Kang will tie things up nicely, but the already announced sequel spin-offs removes the unpredictability that the show is known for. I never find myself on the edge of my seat anymore, there's tension and suspension sure but no real risk. That goes hand in hand with my previous reviews how there are also too many characters in the main cast, most don't have anything interesting to do and they then fail the characters, most of them. The build up is leading to nothing special, I was wrong in my prevent review but I hope it changes. Another huge criticism similar to Fear's seventh season, they skip important events, like us not seeing the breakup between Gabriel and Rosita earlier this season. But let's tie up this review, episode 11.21 has most of the cast in it, it finally feels like an old episode of The Walking Dead but unfortunately it has some of the worst writing in season 11. Even the action sequences aren't very good. There's only three episodes left and they slow things down too much, it's sad really, how the final season of a show as big as The Walking Dead could be mishandled so much. Angela Kang, to me, succeeded with season 9 and 10 (before Covid). The direction she took for this final season have been a roadblock after roadblock, unfortunately, Part C have not been very good.

A really good set up for the next episode
justdan202324 October 2022
Ok, first of all, this episode is much greater than the last ones for particular reasons. First, we get to see more of the outside world than just being in Commonwealth, it really gives me a sort of wonder and curiousity of the wilderness you know.

Second of all, like in season 2, we get to watch the character development between characters like Daryl and Carol, Daryl and Connie, Rosita and Gabriel, Kelly and Ezekiel, Ezekiel and Negan and lastly, Maggie and Carol, even though the latter two were shown for a short time. This is very good because we get to see their relationship grow stronger than ever even in hard times.

So in conclusion, I think that this episode is a set up for the emotional anticlimax that might soon play out in the last three episodes. So I can't wait for what the next episode will have in store.

Only 3 Episodes Left: I Expected So Much More
panagiotis199323 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Once again I like that the episode starts with flashbacks. Gabriel and Rosita jumped from the car and then they fall asleep or maybe they passed out? Makes no sense. Wait so Ms Milton's plan was to have our characters be slave labor? Damn didn't expect that. So now the Commonwealth has trains? The nonsense continues. I don't understand why Maggie struggled to kill the zombie kid so much, it's just another walker. Gabriel praying for the dying soldier was a beautiful idea. Maggie, Carol and Daryl hijacking the train was cool. The bike chase with Daryl was also a really cool scene. I wish we could see what's going on back at the Commonwealth though. Decent episode overall, has some action and it was entertaining but with only 3 episodes left I expected so much more. My rating is 7/10.

No Turning Back
tristan_1923 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Maggie, Gabriel and Rosita manage to escape the convoy and run, while Negan, Ezekiel and Kelly are brought to work. Negan gets separated from Annie, who gets transported elsewhere. Could it be setting up the spinoff maybe ?

Daryl and Carol run into their friends and the episode unravels. There is a masterful scene involving a train car, where we get to see some action and fight scenes. But the information our characters are made aware of is the key here. Finding out the Commonwealth has turned Alexandria into just another outpost is outrageous for them.

Everything comes at a chilling price, and Maggie states they are going to take back their home. Meanwhile, Negan and Ezekiel are forced to team up in order to provide an out for people and give them hope.

Karma is slowly coming back around for the Commonwealth and our folks are about to surprise them and startle the whole system. There's no turning back now, no going back to the way it was !

Picking up speed
Leofwine_draca3 December 2022
As we move into the very last episodes of the show, this episode turns out to be pretty good - and fast-paced at the very least. It offers a new milieu in the welcome form of a return to Alexandria, looking very different from the last time we saw it. The plot splits and divides between various sub-plots as usual, but the most interesting ones are those following the characters infiltrating a much tougher enemy. I did like the train scenes too, which add something to the show that hasn't been done before. This means that characterisation suffers for the sake of action, but in the case of this series I don't think that's a bad thing.

I think it's best if Rick doesn't come back
boukrafathi24 October 2022
So I thought Rick would come back in the episode called "Who Lost," but he didn't, and because he hoped he'd come back in the next episode, or in the series titled "Family." And if he doesn't, it would be better if he even returns in his own series with Michonne because it will be an end game for the walking dead and crm And the beginning of the spin-off series For me, the series that I'm excited about is Carol and Daryl's series after Rick, of course, because they are without a doubt the best couple in the world of the walking dead. The company must rely on duos in its series leaders like Maggie and Negan and this is amazing.

The weakest episode of 11C so far. Mostly setup, but still decent.
frankiesilver-918362 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I definitely found this to be the weakest installment of 11C so far. A lot of this comes from how we're back in the woods rather than at the most interesting Commonwealth. I honestly feel like the Reapers in 11A created a better sense of dread about being left alone in the wild anyway.

I wouldn't say what we're given here is filler, but some of it kinda feels like it is. The action is cool enough and the plot progresses, but the pacing is not quick enough for the amount of time there is left.

At the same time, I feel like we've missed much that's going on in between scenes. Scenes like Rosita's with Gabriel seem pointless, and that scene in specific is just weird after it was confirmed in an interview they broke up off-screen.

I also don't understand what they're doing with Maggie. She hasn't had much to do since 11x17 and she spends most of this episode crying. She's clearly traumatized by the idea of losing Hershel, but I found her reluctance to kill a child walker to be a bit silly for her character. Maybe whatever experiences caused this PTSD can be explored later in Dead City.

One of the better scenes was the soldier interrogation. I like how Daryl's fear for the other's safety pushed him to desperate measures, and how Gabriel's words of what fear can make someone do applied to both the soldier and Daryl. Gabriel praying with the soldier in his final moments was incredibly tragic.

Then there's the train, which was a cool set-piece to finally have on the show but nothing more than that. A bonus nonetheless that can ultimately make traveling between Alexandria and Commonwealth easier and more realistic going forward.

The big takeaway from this section of the episode was definitely the concept of Designation Two. While I don't really believe we'll see anything CRM-related at this point, I hope this location they're teasing turns out to be important.

The part of the episode I found most interesting was the slave camp. Seeing the dark, hidden part of the Commonwealth's infrastructure is crazy. The way the Alexandrians are treated is perfectly dehumanizing.

Having Ezekiel and Negan paired as prisoners was a smart move. It's interesting to see these two former leaders fall to such a low position, and it allows them to interact for the first time in what feels like forever. All the emotional baggage Ezekiel still bears from All Out War makes their scenes powerful. Seeing them agree to work together for the greater good is really satisfying too.

Finally, the big reveal at the end of Alexandria becoming a slave camp outpost for its former occupants was pretty chilling, even as someone who knew about this twist.

Overall, this is not a bad episode by any means. Some questionable moments but also some great ones. I think it showcases some of Season 11's underlying issues, but it's still decent.

Nearly there .
gregoraitken2 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Not only do they recycle storylines but now locations too ! . This is so honkingly bad . It's was a first for me to see an escape from an armoured convoy because both the professional guards were having a knap . It's beyond ridiculous. I'm praying for some shocking scenes but they just don't come .

The direction is aimless , the production is shockingly bad , it's the first time in over 150 episodes that I've clearly seen Daryl's stunt double ! . The characters are miserable humourless cretins . Ezekiel really needs to do something with that peacock feather . One saving grace was that we never saw any of the commonwealth this episode and no English lawyers .

This is such a horrendously bad show .I'm hoping it has a great ending in a kind of role reversal from GOT or Dexter New Blood .

It is better than Kenobi as the children have not been rescued under a trench coat , well not yet anyway..................

recycled writing
wrka-195-29992823 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Angela Kang: How many times will Negan have to ask in his dialogue to "put our differences aside and work together"?

Because there are 15 more characters there and I wonder if Negan will have to do the same with each of them. Absurd. It's been more than 10 years of the war with the Saviors, but the writers seem to use this strategy with Negan, everyone is still angry with him, the criminal blah blah blah and the eternal search for redemption by him, it seems to be the only interest of the writers with the character. I thought that in this part of the arc where Negan doesnt appear in the comic they would do much more with the character, more interesting, but with this recycled story, Negan feels like a filler character this is already exhausting.

This episode is focused on Maggie, but it really is only for Maggie fans because if there is not emotional drama apart from that she has nothing to contribute to the plot, such as her relationship with Negan.

Again nothing about the walker variant, Oceanside, Virgil, Dianne, etc. Nobody really important dies on this episode, i don't sit on the edge of the abyss, you know the worry of losing an main character or excited to watch another episode, I'm done with The Walking Dead.

Designation 2 and Outpost 22
claudio_carvalho25 January 2024
Maggie, Rosita and Gabriel are transported in a truck with hoods covering their heads. Maggie wakes up and notes that the soldier that is guarding them is asleep. She breaks free from her cuff and wakes up Gabriel and Rosita, releasing their hands from the zip cuffs. Gabriel and Rosita jump from the truck in movements, but the guard wakes up and holds Maggie. They fight over his gun that accidentally shots and kills the driver. Maggie flees before the rest of the convoy arrive. Gabriel and Rosita wake up on the next morning and their former guarder, who is now a walker, approaches but they kill him, and they get his weapon and radio and learns that other soldiers are coming hunting them down. The rest of the prisoners are taken to a forced labor camp, and the Warden threatens and humiliates them. He selects a group to clear the railroad tracks and another group to be sent to another location. Daryl and Carol confront the soldiers in the train and rescue Connie. Meanwhile, the escapees follow the train whistle, and they stumble upon Daryl and Carol. They wish to know where Outpost 22 and what Designation 2 is, and a wounded soldier that used to go to Gabriel's church explains him what he heard about Designation 2 before dying. Rosita poses as a soldier using the radio and learns where the Outpost 22 is.

"Outpost 22" is a full of action episode of "The Walking Dead". The prisoners working in hard labor is a good way to use the manpower of useless citizens from a society to collaborate to the welfare of the good citizen and pay their debts to the society, and is a great example that should be followed by governments in every country. Ezekiel and Negan probably have talked to each other for the first time in this season. Ezekiel follows the ancient proverb "the enemy of my enemy is my friend". The revelation that the Outpost 22 is Alexandria surprises everybody, characters and viewers of this show. My vote is seven.

"Outpost 22" delivers both thrilling action and thought-provoking drama
fernandoschiavi6 April 2024
Maggie, Gabriel and Rosita manage to escape and eventually link up with Daryl and Carol as they track the Commonwealth's train to the mysterious Outpost 22. Daryl is haunted by the capture of Connie who has been separated out from the others as a Designation 2 while Maggie is haunted by losing Hershel, especially after fighting a child walker. At the Commonwealth's labor camp, Negan convinces a reluctant Ezekiel to set aside their differences and form a revolt against the sadistic Warden. At a junction, the others attack the train and rescue Connie. However, a dying trooper only knows that Designation 2's are taken far away and are never seen again while the engineer commits suicide rather than answer any questions. As the prisoners are delivered to Outpost 22, Rosita poses as a dead trooper over the train's radio and tricks a friendly trooper into revealing that Outpost 22 is actually Alexandria. Maggie declares that they will get their home and their people back and that Pamela will never know what hit her.

"Outpost 22" explores the complexities of human nature in a post-apocalyptic world. The episode follows the survivors as they discover a mysterious outpost that holds the key to a potential alliance. As they navigate the dangers of this new territory, they are forced to confront their own fears and prejudices, leading to intense moments of conflict and introspection.

One of the standout aspects of this episode is its exploration of trust and betrayal. The survivors are faced with the challenge of determining who they can rely on in this new environment, leading to tense and dramatic interactions. The episode also delves into themes of loyalty and sacrifice, as characters are forced to make difficult decisions in order to protect themselves and their community.

The cinematography and visual effects in "Outpost 22" are particularly striking, enhancing the atmosphere of tension and danger. The action sequences are well-executed, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats throughout the episode. Additionally, the performances of the cast are top-notch, with each actor bringing depth and emotion to their characters.

Overall, "Outpost 22" is a standout episode that delivers both thrilling action and thought-provoking drama. It continues to push the boundaries of storytelling in "The Walking Dead," keeping viewers engaged and invested in the fate of these characters until the very end.

Make it stop... please
lisichichi1 November 2022
This was honestly the worst thing I had to watch in a long time. The dialogue is horrible, I feel like the writers have no idea how to create remotely interesting character dynamics anymore. There are tons of scenes that are completely unnecessary - Rosita dislocating her shoulder, why? Maggies endless struggle with the child walker, do we really need to characterize Maggie three episodes before the end? The convo between Gabe and the soldier, I really couldn't care less about a random dude I've never seen before.

There are also more plotholes than I could count, starting with the Commonwealth soldier in the truck with Maggie and Co. Sleeping (???) and ending with Rosita and Gabe awakening in the middle of the forest even though they jumped out of the car onto the street?

At this point, I really don't care anymore. It's sad what TWD has become.

horrifying last 5 mins
Rob-O-Cop25 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The bit where the voice on the radio gives away the commonwealths full game plan to an unidentified voice on an unsecure radio frequency.

I think that's got to be the laziest piece of writing I've seen, and the bar was really really low already.

Other than that we got another dull battle over something or other, this time a train, but it's really interchangeable, and meaningless.

Then we've got the hard labour camp, and Negan saying I don't think I'm going to make it out of here, a labour camp with 5 guards, like he hasn't faced 50 times that before.

I just lowered my expectations even further, it'll all be over soon and we can forget this ever happened, way to destroy a legacy and mess up a captivatingly good hand.

It's not walking, it's crawling
bookadog8 January 2023
The pacing of these episodes is as close to watching paint dry as you can get. As we lumber towards the series inevitable conclusion, we ask, is it really worth it?

One long drawn out monologue after another. One convenient accident after another. I suddenly realise the walking dead might actually refer to the audience. Zero excitement, just none.

Back in the good old days you were invested in the struggle to survive against over whelming odds. The Governor, Negan, Alpha.....all worthy adversaries but the greatest threat to this series has become the need to lengthen each episode and strangle the last dying breath from each moment.

Please just end it already
samhinchliffe-7024131 October 2022
I wish it just ended right now, there is nothing left for this show anymore. The whole 11C has been lacklustre, it's the last episodes ever! It's obvious they are just wanting to cash grab by all these spin offs. So they obviously can't kill certain characters off. But they still haven't killed more minor characters like for example Magna. What has happened to this show!?

The ending is blatantly obvious to anybody who has heard how the comics end. Which is probably most of the fan base now as the casuals got bored off. I just hope Rick returns but is there really any story for him to return to? Plus let's not forget the cash grab films they have lined up for him to be in. I will finish the walking dead series but I'm gone for the spin offs.

So Tired
thebrain5810 April 2023
It's so exhausting to watch this show while fighting the temptation to turn it off and just give up every time the characters do something incredibly stupid or the characters miraculously find each other, usually just in time to kill the bad guys or a small group somehow kills a much larger, better equipped, better trained group of adversaries, usually with no one suffering so much as a scratch.

And that's in addition to the way the rules pertaining to walkers constantly change.

They always walk slow, except when they don't.

They somehow randomly enter some kind of stealth mode and sneak up on people, even though they are completely out in the open.

They are fragile and easily handled physically - except when they aren't and they develop almost superhuman strength.

When they are coming up a flight of stairs and the first dozen or so are killed, they miraculously melt out of the way of the walkers behind them.

And so on ad infinitum.

The writers of this comically bad and totally unbelievable show must have zero respect for the intelligence of their viewers.

Wish I had never started watching this show, and wouldn't have if I'd known what a total farce it would become.

Warning: Spoilers
Oh my! This is unbelievable, characters are totally separatd from logic and characters development.

Same old stories happens again, someone missing and someone searching ends up with alot of shooting and thick plot armor protects your character.

Inconsistent strength for characters/ walker is becoming unbearable. Sometimes someone take out dozens of walkers alone and sometimes struggle with two.

Negan and 50 people can't take 3 guards next to them, Maggie wait forever to jump from the truck so she can fall back and scream so we have extra stupid fight

The whole Yumikko and law things at Commonwealth are ultra cringe and ridiculous.

Can't wait to finish this season and get over with it.
