Jeffrey Dean Morgan carried.
fountasalexander30 October 2022
11C so far has been so disappointing, nothing had really got me intrigued until this episode. Although my rating is still only a 7, thats all credited to JDM.

I don't know what more to say, every episode has felt very repetitive in these last few. I just hope my favorite show has a good ending, we need Andrew Lincoln to end this series!

Lets be honest, ever since Andy left, this show has been more than dead, even before Andy left some had already given up.

I always stuck around and even though im not completely satisfied with the way this final season has presented itself, I hope we end The Walking Dead on a high note.

Happy 12 years.

That's better!
cmarlborough31 October 2022
Much better episode than the last few, though still struggling with a lack of good transitions between scenes and continuity. But at least this episode actually focuses on people we care about and follows them consistently rather than jumping to people I couldn't give a hoot about. And I feel a bit more positive now I know where they are heading- seems like a good end to the story is finally in sight. My one slight worry is how they plan to tie it all up and lay foundations for a link into Ricks story. I miss Rick a lot-especially this season which has been far from the standard I've come to expect from TWD- but it needs to be done well.

Only a 9 Because of the Ending
MamadNobari9730 October 2022
So the writing of this show continues to stay perfectly above mediocre, and I was gonna give this one an 8, but the ending was too good to to that and overall the episode wasn't that bad either.

One of the biggest misses they've done is introducing new variants when there are only 5 episodes left and they only utilize those new walkers in one or at most two episodes, so makes you wonder what the point is if they're not gonna be a big threat like Whisperers were. They might be introducing them to use them in new upcoming spin-offs, but what's the point if there aren't gonna do much in the main show, especially when there are only 2 episodes left now?

One thing about this season that was disappointing was how quickly they got rid of The Reapers. I was totally expecting them to be the season's big bad guys or at least ham them for longer, but they went out as quickly as they came in. I wanted the same treatment with the Commonwealth, meaning that they're in the picture for one only one part of the season and the third part be about another group, optimistically Rick and Michonne's.

But obviously, Commonwealth is way way bigger of a threat than The Reapers so it makes sense it's taking the better part of this final season. The problem is tho, that the hugeness of the Commonwealth is kinda not felt? Like they say there are +50k people living in there but we don't see much of that or we're not shown many streets and houses to feel how big this community actually is.

I also think that Ezekiel and Negan's subplot is way too overdramatic to the point of cheesiness and even cringe. Like it's kinda to the point that the writers think they're making V for Vendetta. This season's plot and storyline obviously is reminiscent of that movie and this has always been a serious drama, but for some reason this one feels way too over the top and overdramatic for its own good.

Rant aside, I thought this episode was decent enough but the ending did it for me. Some problems still get solved really weirdly and easy and borders on unrealistic and you can nitpick the hell out of that final prison scene, but overall the episode was good in itself, not sure about it being the third to last episode of the entire show though.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan stunning performance
wrka-195-29992830 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I'm surprised, this was an excellent episode focused on Negan; the last few minutes, omg with Negan on his knees, sacrificing himself for others, the character certainly lives and feels a lot of guilt, assuming his sins, kept me on the edge of my chair. Jeffrey Dean Morgan's performance is awesome, this reminded me of the Here's Negan episode, AMC executives were not wrong when they decided not to kill off Negan, without a doubt the spin off Dead City will be a success.

For me this is the best episode of part 11C so far, although the writers finally began to close some plots, still questions remain. The villains in this final part are weak, I don't understand why they killed off Lance, this was a big BIG MISTAKE, Josh Hamilton would have done a very good job being the Warden.

The plot of Eugene and Yumiko never caught my attention, maybe if instead of Eugene it had been Ezekiel or Negan, this would have been more exciting.

No one has died yet and I'm not surprised, Angela Kang and Scott Gimple are afraid of killing off a character and maybe losing an audience. It seems that the purpose that Annie does not die in this episode is related only to promoting the spinoff, I guess she will be captured or Herschel.

FAITH; It comes down to that scene, where Ezequiel standing in front of the firing squad to protect Negan and Annie, Rick Grimes would certainly be very proud, I'm sure Negan was surprised, nobody had ever selflessly protected him before, the faith is about that moment, trusting something or someone despite everything. Seeing that the group, The Family, finally accept Negan as their own was exciting.

Honorable mention; Ezekiel (Khary Payton), this character at the end of the season must be a leader of the commonwealth or one of the communities, if this doesn't happen I will be very dissapointed.

10/10.

Amazing final 15 minutes
tylerbotterill1 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Wow. The last 15 minutes of this episode made it a 10/10 for me. I honestly thought Negan was about to die. The way they did that scene was just absolutely perfect. And the way Ezekiel and all the others protect Negan shows just how much Negan has grown over the years. The rest of the episode was slightly boring however the ending made it a 10 for me. I was litterely on the edge of my seat for the entire time. It was also very emotional seeing Negan on his knees and begging for them not to kill his wife, who happens to also be pregnant. I'm so sad this show is ending 😢 but these last epidisodes have been amazing.

Hands down to the best episode of 11C
justdan202331 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I can't express my thoughts on this episode. It's everything. Kang had really put the meaning of Faith in this episode.

This was shown when Eugene had simply accepted his fate but still used his remaining time to help the others instead of just being pessimistic. He had faith.

Ezekiel is also phenomenal in this episode. When he and the gang went to stand with Negan even after how the latter he betrayed him, he still tried to protect him and Annie and even convinced a part of the Troopers to join them. His monologue was amazing.

And Luke is back! Yay! And also, walkers can pick up knives now??? I feel like it's surely going to be a problem in the last two episodes. So anyway, this episode is great, the soundtrack and music score are emotional and the dialogues were amazingly written. So I can't wait for the last two episodes!

That's how we get it done !
tristan_1930 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Faith kicks this season into high gear and makes it finally feel like a worthy ending to an 11 seasons tv phenomenon !

The way the writers played with trust in this episode is absolutely outstanding. Ezekiel doesn't trust Negan, but as viewers we've seen what Negan has been up to these last seasons. However, when the Commonwealth soldier asked who the traitor was, I truly felt Negan might give Ezekiel up.

Yumiko defends Eugene, and I absolutely loved when Eugene called back to his time with the Saviors. It takes only one person to change the course of history. Of course, all of this is really meta and you can feel the undertones going on in the room, with Mercer standing in the background.

The way the ending has been interwoven together is masterful and powerful. Holy shoot, that windmill scene might be one of the best scenes of the last two seasons. Absolutely phenomenal, as Maggie and Rosita make their way through Alexandria. As for Lydia and co, who learned what happened to Oceanside, they're making their way through the herd outside of the Commonwealth. Love how that paid off.

Talking of pay offs, Tyler Davis is back in this episode ! Negan giving himself up is actually so heroic it's insane. Knowing he'll make it to the spinoff kinda played with my head, but we immediately got a fantastic twist. The leader didn't want martyrs, so he took Annie instead. The sheer emotion from JDM at this moment is palpable, and Ezekiel steps up, causing our group to defend the couple. You feel mayhem may ensue, but Daryl and Carol who have been lurking this whole time finally step in, saving the survivors.

The moment where Eugene is sentenced to death is really impactful and well filmed. You feel all the impact of that scene. But Mercer intervenes and turns on Pamela ! Such a great episode. Plus, who doesn't live for unhinged Rosita fighting for Coco !

What. an. episode.
manuiancu30 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Honestly i thought Negan will snitch on Ezekiel since he said he WILL be a father, but instead he's a badass and wants to sacrifice himself for his wife and kid. This shows how good Negan's character development was, how everyone formed a human shield around him and his wife, and how he even made the troopers to stop following the warden's orders. Now, on Eugene's side of story, i liked his way of accepting his fate and is prepared to become a martyr so the civilians uprise against Pamela's dictatorship. The writing of this episode was just beautiful. Excellent story. I can not wait until the next episode. Who knows, maybe we will get to see Rick in the series finale.

What episode is everyone else watching?
melcauble7 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Everything that happened in this ep was predictable. Nothing truly bad happened to "our guys" because the writers don't want to kill any of these characters. When is the last time there has been a consequential death? A looooooooong time. I don't want random killing (I believe the show jumped the shark with Glenn and Abraham's deaths, speaking of random) but the show has no meaning anymore because we all know our people are not going to be killed. You might as well have the extras wearing red shirts. Remember back to the tone of the first season? Completely different show the last 5 seasons, in particular. Bo-ring! Glad this is going to be over very soon.

I think it's best if Rick doesn't come back
boukrafathi30 October 2022
Rick should not return in this comic because there are only two episodes left This is not enough to cover upcoming events with the crm, and this will remove the mystery and surprise factor from the series. I think it's better if Rick returns in his series with Michonne because the next Rick and Michonne series will be an endgame for the walking dead because it will cover the last arc of the two main characters and open the way for the next spin-off series The most important of which will be Maggie and Negan series, and we know that the producers will adopt the style of duets in their future programs for the world of the walking dead, such as Daryl and Carol.

Faith
bobcobb3018 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
We had an exciting moment that saw Negan nearly meet his maker and nearly pay for the kind of crimes he's done, but like so many episodes before this one, the stars these days do not meet any real circumstances.

There has not been an important death in a long time on this series and that is part of the reason why they have lost fans as it does not feel like there are any consequences.

Of course Eugene was found guilty and will not face any consequences for it. This show can still be entertaining, but they definitely need to break that formula and start having some shocking deaths or something.

Ignore the negativity, it's an amazing episode
postdramaticmusic5 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I'll admit that the labor camp stuff drags a little, and I would've liked a little more time dedicated to the court and Pamela being made to look corrupt in front of her people, but overall a really good episode. JDM carried, of course, but the second half as a whole was excellent.

The ending scene has me excited for how things will end. Will we somehow see Rick? Or do they save that for his own show? Who knows!

The negative reviews are all extremely bitter and don't come off as written by people who have actually been watching the show. They appear to still be mad about Glenn's death, but what do I know.

This is why Gimple and Yang should have been gone years ago
mhorg201830 October 2022
Just a terrible final season. This show lost all it's guts years ago. Lame, lackluster storytelling, massive plot holes, characters get to walk in the stupidest manners: need I mention Michonne's departure? Other than alpha and beta what major characters have been killed off? The show has taken a drastic turn from the comic and it's been bad. I feel this is going to end weakly and be disappointing. The whole motorcycle chase was ridiculous. It took Daryl two seconds to catch this guy! Really? Since Season 9 this show has gone doooooowwwwwnnnnnhhhhhiiiiillllllll. I'm sticking with it because I'm a fan, but only the new Star Treks have let me down worse.

Dumb Courtroom Argument/Dialogue
buzzpark7 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This episode would've been much better except for the extremely dumb courtroom scenes. Dumb arguments, dumb questions, dumb answers.

Obviously everyone knows that Eugene was going to be found guilty, but there was no dialogue showing how ridiculous the case was. No dialogue about how Eugene did not Kill the crew that became zombies. No dialogue about how Sebastian tried to murder Max by throwing a zombie at her and all Eugene did was push the thing off. It happened to land on Sebastian and kill him. Where is that dialogue? Dumb. And why is Yumiko asking about the lottery? What does that have to do with Eugene's case?. Again, dumb quart room dialogue ruined this episode for me.

Tension
martindebari31 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I've watched this show since his premiere, and this episode remided me the best of the best. I suffered a lot the entire 40 minutes. Loved Negan being in the same situation as Maggie (that awful times).

I find interesting that the change inside the Commonwealth could have its consequences, mostly when there's family in between.

I hope that the phrase "you'll lose it all" comes with the CRM. I'm still thinking that the show cannot end without Rick Grimes, it is what all the fans are expecting, but maybe i'm just being delusional.

Loved all this years watching this, loved all the characters. Please end it well.

"Faith" offers great drama and strong acting, suspension and tension throughout the episode with a superb performance from Jeffrey Dean Morgan
Holt3445 November 2022
The premise of episode 11.22 titled "Faith": Ezekiel and Negan plan a work camp revolt; Eugene stands trial with Yumiko as his defense attorney. Nicole Mirante-Matthews & Magali Lozano penned the script for 11.22 and they brought the writing back to how it should be, the dialogue felt natural and overall well written. The episode uses the big budget wisely, making it brilliant both technically and the acting and so on, the camera work are brilliant and visually a great episode, an overall impressive production. There's so many shots in this episode that are brilliantly shot, such a stunning looking episode, but that doesn't make a great episode.

Rose Troche directed "Faith" and being a guest director, she phenomenal job. Troche's vision and direction were truly great, bringing her skills and experience to a show that currently needs it. Her work on the episode are surely one of the highlights. The cinematography and the other departments, especially the makeup and special effects departments, were as always top notch. The attention to detail and all the shots in the nature, they nailed it on the camera side of things. The cinematography is once again breathtaking and incredible, just right for the show, the way it was shot and so on, simply brilliant. The sets were detailed and perfect, and so are the art and production design. I also found the effects to be fantastic in this episode, practical effects always makes it so more real, and The Walking Dead is known for their practical effects and they didn't let us down for this episode. Superb sound design and a musical score both gripping and dramatic. It's one of many things on the technical side of things that the show succeeds perfectly with.

The Commonwealth arc have had its ups and downs but I'll have to admit, I really liked this episode. I thought it was great. It's the final arc of the series like the source material it's based upon, though very different but most of the changes I can be behind. The plot moves forward nicely and the two separate storylines (Aaron and the others) are now one thanks to everyone is in Alexandria/Outpost 22. The trial in the Commonwealth happens simultaneously and it's suspenseful and full of tension, like the other storyline, the episode is full of suspension and tension. I even sat on the edge of my seat during the most suspenseful sequence in the episode, first time since Sebastian's death I didn't know what was going to happen. But I still think Angela Kang is playing things too safe, the unpredictability hasn't been there in the entire season. We see more of how fascist and how Commonwealth have evolved into a military-state, fully fleshed out. It's brilliant really, believable too. There were so many brilliant performances, my favorites being: Lauren Cohan as Maggie Greene, Khary Payton as Ezekiel, Melissa McBride as Carol Peletier, Eleanor Matsuura as Yumiko and Christian Serratos as Rosita Espinosa are some of my favorite performances. But I think Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Josh McDermitt has the best performances in the episode, as Negan and Eugene.

This episode kept the story going much more, in a great way. Luke is finally back. Episode 11.22 has most if not the whole cast in it, it feels like an old episode of The Walking Dead. I think this was one of the better episodes of Part C, but I'm tired of how safe they're playing it, all those spin offs which were announced hurt the show a lot, still hurting. Yet, the episode was full of suspension and tension, but almost no action which I liked. You see, The Walking Dead have never been about those big action sequences, it was mostly in season 8 that happened, TWD for me have always been a character driven drama and this episode succeeds with that idea. There's some superb drama in this episode, character interactions that keeps you engaged, you don't need action sequences in every episode (like the previous which had some of the worst) just write a solid episode like this one and you'll be good. It was so nice watching some quality drama. I won't get into details but how this episode ends, I can finally say that I'm actually interested in seeing how the final two episodes will turn out, it's looking bright for The Walking Dead.

Best of the season so far
mjhuijbregts30 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
No time is wasted in the most recent episode of The walking dead. I've been quite critical of the shows final season so far. But If they continue to meet this bar for the last 2 episodes, I can make my peace with the ending of the show. Which I admit, isn't an easy task, having to tie in to multiple spinn offs and missing main characters.

The atmosphere in this episode was great. The snow was a great addition to tone this epsiode needed. Acting was brilliant, and this episode didn't seem cheezy for the ammount of leaning on precious memories of the past, some of the recent episodes have.

The best epsiode of the season so far!

Eugene's Trial and Negan's Feelings
claudio_carvalho25 January 2024
While working at the railroad tracks, Negan and Kelly observe the behavior of the Warden and the guards and Magna prepares a map. Princess notes that the former trooper Tyler Davis is one of the prisoners and tells Ezekiel. Negan offers to work and extra shift to a soldier provided his pregnant wife rests and works less but another soldier hits him, and Annie is subdued trying to protect her husband. Aaron, Jerry, Lydia and Elijah stumble upon Luke and Jules in the woods, who are fleeing Oceanside. Luke tells them that the Commonwealth soldiers have taken Oceanside, and Aaron and the group do not understand since they have an agreement with them. Eugene's trial begins and Pamela tells the audience that Eugene had tampered the tape since that was not the voice of Sebastian. Negan and Ezekiel approaches to Tyler Davis at the messroom and invite him and his people to join the riot they are scheduling, but Davis declines the offer. The Warden summons Negan and asks him who is the leader of the group that has prepared the map he found, and Negan says that everybody hates him. The Warden assigns Negan to find who the leader is. Early in the morning, he gathers all the prisoners to watch Negan be killed by a firing squad. Meanwhile, Daryl's group breaks in Alexandria through the sewer.

"Faith" is another full of action episode of "The Walking Dead". Eugene's trial is a farce, and the testimony of Pamela is a big lie. The return of Luke and Jules after a long period increases Aaton's group and he is informed that something is wrong with Commonwealth. Negan's situation in the end of the episode on his knee begin to Annie is similar to the situation of Glenn and Maggie when he was the leader of the Saviors. The surprising attitude of Ezekiel is a great moment of the show. Mercer's attitude in the end of the show is also a surprising moment. The soldier Robert stopping the firing squad from killing the prisoner is also amazing. My vote is eight.

Title (Brazil): "Faith"

Moving at speed with a few errors
Leofwine_draca3 December 2022
Another fast-paced episode which delivers a good deal of solid thrills and experience. The one downside to this is the court case, which just comes across as very vague and very rushed and not at all convincing. The script offers the most basic law-related terms and the idea of getting the public to come to Eugene's aid is a non-starter in the first place, so why dwell on it so much? The rest, more action-focused elements are better, particularly those involving the engaging Negan who continues to impress, and it's nice to see Ezekiel getting a little more screen time too. A shame others like Maggie are totally wasted.

The show feels constrained by budget and time, and yet this episode is pretty great.
frankiesilver-918367 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I enjoyed this episode, but I have mixed feelings about it just because of how close we are to the series finale. It feels like they are trying to wrap up everything quickly and that AMC is cutting corners to make this possible. A big example of this is the Oceanside plot. It is finally revealed to us what happened there... kinda.

Luke and Jules are shoehorned back into the show which feels odd since they've been absent since 10x16. And we don't see Oceanside itself at all. Rachel's name is mentioned but we really have no idea if anyone survived. There's this cheap feeling to Luke verbally explaining what would've been a big event to see. It's simply aggravating and makes it seems like they're trying to save on budget.

At the very least, Aaron's group dealing with the variant stuff is just wild. Watching a Walker pick up a knife is genuinely terrifying.

Another gripe I have is, yet again, Maggie. I already complained about her moping last episode, but her crying over Hershel while they are hiding from soldiers in the other room is absolutely ridiculous.

We still get some great scenes in this episode with good dialogue. The rest of the court scene is done well. Yumiko interrogating Pamela was well written and Eugene's final speech was emotional with great callbacks that I believe further redeemed him for his actions in past seasons. If there's any character I think has been fully explored and has been given a proper conclusion to their story as the show is ending, it's definitely Eugene.

I felt that up to this point Mercer's arc was being dragged out a little, but now I feel like it was worth it. His line as he saved Eugene made for an incredibly epic cliffhanger.

Negan also has some iconic moments in this episode. If it wasn't for his spinoff, I could've seen him having an amazing death here. I loved the irony behind the Commonwealth general's belief that Negan wasn't a real leader, and despite Negan's redemption arc I was genuinely convinced that he sold Ezekiel out after their argument.

However, I loved the twist of his accepting to be executed. Seeing him be placed on his knees is so symbolic of the Savior lineup. It's truly his character coming full circle. Unlike when he killed Alpha, Negan's actions here are not for his own personal gain.

He has made a deserving spot for himself with the group in the most selfless way possible, and while it was a bit cheesy feeling to see everyone defend him, it was a powerful moment. This is particularly because of the great last-second parallel arc they formed between Ezekiel and Negan. Negan sacrificing himself and Ezekiel standing up for him was an amazing way for them to make amends.

I do feel like the season could've used an impactful death here, but the individual episode turned out good either way.

Warning: Spoilers
This Episode begins with a recap of the adventure of Negan and Judith so far, back to the present time. Negan and the others are still captured by Pamela's guards. Pamela cries because Sebastian died. Eugene's process is today. Eugene must prepare for the consequences. Carol has a emotional conversation with Maggie. Eugene has been convicted for Sebastian's murder. Daryl wounded The Warden. Maggie and Hershel got reunited. Amazing Episode of The Walking Dead Season 11, this is what i'm talking about. The action till the end is keeping a high level! I look forward to the last episodes of The Walking Dead.

The episode that shows the best AND the worst of this show
malcolmjohnston22 December 2022
If you're a long time fan you to will have suffered through the highs and lows of the Walking Dead to get this far I think this episode totally encapsulates what is best and what is the worst of this sometimes great sometimes not so much.

With limited air time left and the makers desperately trying to finish off all the story arcs of the original show they take time to pamper to the over bloated cast.

Take the utter nonsense of The court hearing with all its nodding non-speaking extras that in a world that is supposed to be on the brink of the abyss is just utter rubbish. Trying to make the Walking Dead's version of Perry Mason is an utter waste of the shows limited time.

What the viewer wants is the other side of this episode, the core cast struggling through to survive Cone what may It's what the show was in the beginning It's what the show is best at its what the makers should have stuck to all along

The cast should have been kept to its tight core cast With a new Big Bad every couple of seasons I fully understand the show had difficulties with its stars wanting to leave (and sometimes come back) but it has such compelling and complicated characters it could have survived without so much nonsense

With so few episodes it really is a shame for the hardcore viewer that has stuck by this show through think and thin to have the screen time frittered away on things that no one needed or wanted to see.

Parody show - Blink twice if you're captive and need rescuing
Rob-O-Cop31 October 2022
This episodes script was so all over the place it could only have been on purpose. The decision must have been made to go full b grade cheesy schlock.

From the ridiculousness of the court room, where apparently the authoritarian state of the commonwealth has a Judge Judy show that lets prisoners give anti establishment speeches to the attendees. Not sure why they didn't have it live streaming to people on their home tvs, why not eh?

Then our team of harden survivors held captive in a hard labour prison camp shifting a hilariously conspicuous pile of fresh dirt into a wheel barrow (we need them to be doing something while Negan and Ezekiel heart to heart so just dump a pile of dirt there).

Then the team in the woods hiding from the patrol behind there wagon pulled by a living horse??? "the fugitives we're looking for aren't there, all I can see is a horse and cart in the forest". Move on.

Then the team on a car with a spot light scanning for our team in the zombie hoard. Which they would have easily spotted cos make up decided not to put any blood and guts on their face this time, ewww ick etc.. It's like they don't even care any more.

Then all it took was one guard at a hard core prison camp where the officers take glee in tormenting the prisoners, to be disgruntled cos he and wasn't allowed to visit his sick brother (nice touch writing team, shades of covid lockdown, contemporary!), suddenly they're not all authoritarian pawns any more and the rebellion has started, and even better Eugene's speech hit it's mark and the guy who let his girlfriend got to a hard labor prison camp decides he wasn't that hard after all.

The thing is the actors deliver all of this with a straight face, like it's shakespeare or something. So either it's meant to be ridiculous, or these fine actors are in a prison cult, being forced to deliver terrible dialog and plot.

So if you're reading this fine actors who deserve so much better than this, blink twice if you being held captive and need to be rescued.

The Walking Dead at its Best: Thrilling Episode full of Intense Moments!
panagiotis199323 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Love that the episode starts with a flashback. Negan going against the Commonwealth soldiers was intense. We have more uninteresting characters coming back? Meh... Ms Milton is a huge liar and manipulator. Yeah everyone knows sign language now, how convinient. The Commonwealth soldiers really piss me off right now, mistreating a pregnant woman like that. The chemistry between Negan and Ezekiel is really interesting. The trial of Eugene was fascinating. Negan once again proves that he is truly brave! Love it. The scene with the prisoners supporting Negan was beautiful and very dramatic/intense. What an awesome cliffhanger with Mercer, I knew he had the guts to do what needs to be done! One of the best episodes of the season! My rating is 9/10.
