- TriviaThe title is based on Robinson Crusoe a novel by Daniel Defoe about an early castaway. Men's Club explorers Radcliffe and Brewster bet each other $10,000 that Freddie the Freeloader cannot remain alone on a deserted island for six months like Robinson Crusoe did in the novel. During the monologue, series announcer Art Gilmore makes a rare on-screen appearance as he presents Red with the Radio TV Mirror magazine Award as best comedy star on TV for the 1966-67 season.
