Good and entertainning show

Warning: Spoilers
I really enjoy watching this drama. It is funny and entertaining. I love the casting. Cho Yeo-Jeong and Joon Go really nail their respective roles. The plot is interesting and intrigue in the beginning but it kinda drag on for a while until the end. I feel that the ending was a bit rush. I wish the writer should have a side story with Go Mi Rae and Han Woo Sung and then Kang Yeo Joo with her assistant. However, that maybe is wishful thinking. I really hope they will make a second season. Overall, I still think this is a good show. I would recommend this drama strongly if you are up for a light comedy.

Good Enough
PennyReviews12 April 2021
Korean Drama " Cheat on me, if you can " had many twists, a slow built mystery and strong characters. Actually, the characters were many, some times way too many, and they all created a puzzle of intriguing events, that, in the end, were presented in an unsatisfying way that even left the ending ambiguous.

The themes that the drama dealt with, moreover, were a bit ambiguous themselves. A cheating husband, a wife with murderous intents, a spy, and a pretty carefree student who, in fact, hides dark secrets, are the main characters of the drama and that itself says a lot about what the drama was all about. In fact, those characters were what pushed the story forward more than once and kept the action going. It must be noted here that the first episodes were boring and not that thrilling, but the drama did pick up quickly after them, especially when you get to know the characters and the mystery becomes more than just a murder case that involves the main couple.

Other than that, the performances were really good by everyone and the soundtrack suited the whole story well and it was enjoyable.

So, overall, 6.5 out of 10.

Disappointed

I was disappointed with this series. It had so much potential but in the end I was left wanting & confused. I stuck with it ONLY because of Joon Go.

The mysteries require some concentration but there is a payoff

Warning: Spoilers
This series takes concentration. But once you figure out who is who you are left with a few mysteries that make you want to watch on and see how things work out and who is bad and who is good. The series may have been better at 12 episodes. There is some dragging and repetitive scenes.

I like the tone and style of the show with the black comedy. The unfaithful husband Go Jun is quite funny with his guilty sheepish behavior and halting speech. Cho Yeo-Jeong handles her role well enough as the inscrutable and observant writer. Kim Young Dae of Penthouse plays an NIS agent assigned to spy on the writer.

The very last part of the ending should have been more conclusive. It's too bad because most of the mysteries were tied up in the last episode. For a show about cheating it's a comic and fairly entertaining diversion but Love ft Marriage and Divorce is better.

Good show

Good show. But middle episodes can drag on. Characters are well developed. Plot is interesting. Last two episodes were best. You can learn a lot about people in this show. No one can be called good or bad. They all have flaws and good characteristics.

Good

This was an enjoyable mystery-comedy drama full of character and style. The main leading actor and actress Cho Yeo Jung & Go Jun were the perfect cast for their character, completely embodying the character to bring it to its full potential. The mystery element was good and kept going for its entire runtime but this delayed a lot of things to the last episode which made it feel cramped. This also resulted in slow pacing which almost turned it stale. The last episode could've been done better, the 2nd half of the last episode was going all over the place and a bit too unfocused. Meanwhile, the ending was purely done that way to leave a stronger impression, so it's not meant to be taken serious or to be over analyzed.

I loved it.

Kang Yeo Joo is an amazing character- strong and independent. I liked how they thought of dumping bodies on a cemetery. It's creative. And the title, of course you kill a guy who cheats.

An entertaining experience from South Korea
For a European like myself this series is interesting to watch for the depicted Korean culture alone. Food and burial habits are interesting examples of this, and of course people's everyday behaviour and body language. Cheat On Me, If You Can is also quite different from Western TV, even if it's made to fit Western tastes as well. All in all it was a very entertaining experience, the casting was good and the plot kept you guessing till the end.

The series had some problems though, mainly with pacing and the amount of plot twists. In the beginning the series was a tad slow to start, but in the end the plot twists kept coming too fast and the ending seemed rushed. Tying all the loose ends felt a bit forced. Still, it's worth watching!

Wasted potential
steli-os13 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I can't remember the last time I was so disappointed with a series. It had so much potential.

It's definitely not like any other kdramas I've watched so far. Dark humour, strong female lead (kind of reminded me the fl of it's OK not to be ok) and not the silly clichés that most kdramas have.

I really liked the first 9 episodes. There were some flaws (mainly some weak performances by smaller roles) but I would rate these episodes with 8 stars. Then it started going downhill. It was getting worse with each episode. I really don't see the point of Mi Rae's story. It doesn't really add something to the story. And it has the weakest performances. It's like watching a different drama. It's very weird.

I also didn't like the whole mystery thing, which I feel was too confusing and not well executed. The husband was too stupid at times. It's hard to believe he managed to cheat his supersmart wife for so long. The ending was a bit weird too, but at that point I didn't really care. Such a shame.

I don't regret watching this one, mainly because of the female lead and the music (which I really liked by the way), but I wish they would stick to the dark comedy about the smart wife suspecting her husband. That would be great
