- A woman suffering from clinical depression asks her best friend to perform a doctor assisted suicide.
- Katherine is a middle aged Boston art dealer who has suffered from clinical depression her entire life. Following a failed suicide attempt seven years earlier, Katherine has done everything she can to beat her depression. After exhausting every option available she decides to pursue a doctor assisted suicide. Katherine invites Amy, her best friend since college, to Boston for the weekend. Amy is a no nonsense, down to earth emergency room doctor working in New York. While waiting for Amy at the train station, Katherine places several drops of GHB into a cup of coffee. When Amy arrives, she drinks the coffee and within fifteen minutes is out cold. While Amy is unconscious Katherine drives them to a remote log cabin deep into the mountains where there is three feet of snow and the temperature is ten degrees. After dragging a barely conscious Amy into the cabin, Katherine locks each of their phones, coats and shoes in the trunk of the car along with the car keys. When Amy wakes up, Katherine tells her she's brought her to the cabin to perform a doctor assisted suicide. When Amy resists, Katherine dumps a bucket of water into a wood burning stove removing the only source of heat in the cabin. With the temperature rapidly dropping Amy has two choices: Cooperate and Katherine will tell her where an extra set of car keys are hidden so she can retrieve her things, stay alive and get home to her family. Refuse and slowly freeze to death with Katherine. Either way Katherine gets what she wants, to die peacefully with Amy's face being the last one she sees.
