...And it still burns how much I hate what the writers did to Kara's character.
As it stands, Kara's character arc this season was woefully neglected. Aside from worrying looks and story plotlines from seasons past--the whole "I can't be Kara Danvers and Supergirl at the same time!" had already been tapped in S1 and S3--Kara had virtually no character development this season.
With adequate buildup and character development, I could see Kara revealing herself as Supergirl as a series ender a year or two from now. But to end the series on this cliffhanger *now* just made no sense. This idea that because she missed an interview she now can't balance her two worlds was so half-hearted I can't even begin to explain how frustrating it was for this viewer.
What happened to Kara's Phantom Zone trauma? Her panic attacks? Or her past issues with her father? Or her "not wanting to be alone anymore"? Themes of abandonment, disappointment, forgiveness, perseverance, finding love in spite of life's obstacles (cough Supercorp cough)...those are themes that should have been developed in S6.
What an utterly disappointing final season for the Girl of Steel. Total disservice to Benoist as well, who was consistently incredible in her portrayal as Kara. This show had all the acting talent in the world--it's a shame the same can't be said for the writing department.
