Don't know how to feel...
songod-9500315 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Not as foolishly improbable as some arm chair critics have said. Most characters get into what could be considered reasonable safety (bunkers, a copter flying away).

The only two wtf's were Strand and his new pal not being immolated like Dakota; and Morgan, Grace, and the baby surviving under a tanker truck. The only explanation can be that these were not nuclear warheads but conventional. Yes they can make a mushroom cloud, too, and a flash of light (note Grace was not instantly blinded nor were Strand and his new bud) but not result in the radiation fall out Grace spoke of (and that most of us born into the late 20th century know all about).

If indeed they were real nukes? Then bye to Morgan and his new family, and Strand and pal have not long to "rebuild" either.

So while I liked most of the ep I am troubled by the nonsense of the unprotected surviving.

A bit more action but an insult to intelligence.

Warning: Spoilers
More excitement then usual but very weak story line. Why did it take so long for the SLBM to land near the location to where it was launched? An ICBM launched from Russia will only take 30 minutes to reach the mainland USA so this makes no sense.

The next season should be the last season as there's no way the casts can survive the fallout from multiple nuclear blasts. Well perhaps those that got out in the helicopter might make it but not the rest.

A bit clunky but a good way to end the Season Warning: Spoilers
This episode has some of the same clunk that haunts the previous episode but overall is a unique and interesting way to end the season that makes me actually excited to see what will happen in Season 7 (I can't believe I'm saying this as somebody who had given up on this show almost completely by Season 5)

Dakota and Teddy's Death scene is awesome, the intro is unbelievably cool, The bit at the beginning with the woman and her child sets the tone nicely and I think Strand by the end of the episode is setting up nicely to be a great villain.

I only wish the characters didn't have to overly explain everything they do and give loads of expository dialogue, I think if you removed some of the more useless dialogue that came off as awkward this episode the actions of the characters would still make sense.

Decent Season (For The Most Part)
nomis9410 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I think that they did a good job with season 6 overall. But you gotta admit that the second half has some serious season-5-writing here and there. Episode 15 is a mess: Letting the bad guys go/alive just like that, surviving several walkers on top of you just like that - all these conveniences, all that plot armor... lazy writing, simple as that.

Well, the season 6 finale is not messing around and it's quite big - yet you can't deny that episode 15 destroyed a lot of this season's momentum. This final episode almost feels "undeserved".

The intro with Rachel was very bleak and actually pretty well-done! The actress did a great job.

I hated the scene between Dakota, Teddy, JD Senior and June. What is it with our group trying to save psychopaths? Having a well-written face-off between JD and Teddy would've been awesome and the writers missed out big time. The way Teddy eventually dies falls flat and let's be honest: Dakota's arc ever since episode 8 has been "I point a gun at everything and everyone!"

Teddy's storyline is also a letdown if you think about it - with the death he got, I mean. It didn't even surprise me that the writers decided to end the cult members' storyline like that - uninspired, uninteresting and extremely forgettable.

Dakota's end is epic and I'm probably going to re-watch this scene on YouTube several times.

The scenes with Dwight and Sherry actually surprised me a lot. Sherry's arc this season has been rocky and I was not a fan - but this episode made me like her again. Her regretful words felt very genuine and guys, can we appreciate Dwight for a moment? What a great dude!

The whole Strand situation is a mess... I actually hoped for his end this episode. Not sure what the writers' plans are for his character. It has neither depth nor anything else - he betrays, he is a friend, then he betrays again, etc. So over it! Plus, how did he and the guy he met survive in that skyscraper? Very unrealistic, not even the windows got destroyed.

Morgan and Grace, well... First of all I wonder how that situation played out when Morgan let Teddy, Dakota, Strand and Riley go the episode before. Did June, JD Sr, Grace, Sherry and Dwight just awkwardly stand there when they left the submarine? Ugh, episode 15 still leaves a bad taste in my mouth the more I think about these plotholes and bad writing decisions... Moving on to Grace and Morgan, I have to admit that it baffled me that they survived so easily just by jumping under the truck. But I'm not an expert, so I'll leave it at that.

The CRM stuff... First of all, I loved the Daniel action this episode. He is a very smart man. Also liked the Sarah screentime. Sadly, the actor who plays her brother Wendell couldn't make it on set during the second half of season 6 - but he'll be back in season 7! Moving on: The helicopter scene felt rushed and Al babbling cryptic stuff over the radio "the less you know the better" is just frustrating at this point. Throughout the franchise you get the impression that the writers, directors and developers don't even have one single clue as to where this CRM thing is going.

What could've been the show's best season is now (in my eyes) way behind season 3 (that season actually had momentum that paid off - when suddenly season 4 destroyed all of it). I understand the hype around season 6 but praising episodes like the penultimate one as a "masterpiece" or "one of the best in the franchise" is just a lie.

A great ending with some inconsistencies
meschi_redhot15 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The teleportation of characters from one place to another is shown too much in this episode.

It feels that I miss something in the last episode, but not, just the writers CUT some part and they show us how the characters are in the middle of something and we ask ourself.. "how the heck this happened, and when??".

The dog with the baby goes SPECIFICALLY where Morgan was... CAMOOOOON!! Really!?!?.

Omitting this, the final minutes and how the people who make FEAR managed to make a nuclear explosion was a HUGE 10.

Warning: Spoilers
I've been catching up with Fear lately, after hearing good things about season 6. I pushed through the fourth and fifth season, and it was all worth it! The season as a whole has been phenomenal, and the finale was no exception. Teddy launched the missiles!

The highlight of the episode for me was without a doubt Strand's monologue towards the end. A true survivor who finally realized what has brought him this far. It will be exciting to see what next season has in store for him and the historian. I'm glad Dwight and Sherry survived, it seems like they have finally found peace with each other. We got an interesting CRM cameo and some really cool, classic Daniel scenes as well. And you can't help but mention Dakota's epic death scene. My only gripe of the episode was Dakota killing Teddy instead of John Senior after all that build up, but I can see why they chose to go that route as it was a defining moment for her.

To conclude, a very solid and intense finale that makes me hyped for season 7. I am curious if the long-term plan is to set up a leadership duel between Morgan, Strand and Alicia moving forward. This season has clearly captured my interest, and completely brought me back to the show again. Well done, Fear.

A satisfying finale.
elias-3401310 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
If this was the end of Fear this would've been a perfect ending to the show. All the characters are trying to find safety while also dealing with Teddy and his people.

It was nice to see a shared amount of screen time between all the characters and finally most of loose ends were tied with Teddy being killed as well as Riley.

However, I was expecting at least one major character death. They were hinting Strand being killed when he told the truth about being the con man he is. I was expecting the new character Howard to just throw him out of the window for not stopping the missiles but nothing happened.

Overall, this episode was very exciting and tense and killed off the people that it needed to. Possible time jump for next season to sync with The Walking Dead? Can't wait for season 7.

Full of inconsistincies
nbayraktarr11 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Wtf everyone thought that the people who are not in a shelter or something was going to die. What about Strand and Morgan? Radiation lady was comparing this with nuclear attacks. They chose to have inconsistincies to create something interesting but for that you need to make people believe it.

Second Apocalypse
tristan_1910 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
What a fascinating episode ! We get thrusted into this world, almost like if nothing else matters. All is about survival, and the characters are on high alert.

The viewer feels a sense of dread and chaos right from the get go, and the uniqueness of the story makes for a eerie yet wonderful experience.

The cinematography and the imagery is insane. The characters are also well developed and interesting to watch.

The situation is pretty dire, but hope isn't lost. From the ashes, we will rise ! If you are a fan of apocalyptic events and situations, watch The Beginning, you certainly won't be disappointed.

Warning: Spoilers
Not bothered to go into details but this finale was very interesting, however, a few filler scenes between Dwight & Sherry, some Strand.

J. D. Sr & June forgiving Dakota was just stupid.

Why did Rachel even exist?

They used her once in 6x1 then waited till now to kill her.

The intro was pretty damn cool though.

6/10. Much better then seasons 4&5 finale, but that doesn't really say much.

pariisaap24 October 2021
Stop the stupid show. Why they try to make a hero from the stupid kids who killed the most popular characters , Nick and John!!!

Why should John's father and June should hand their guns over and try to change Dakota's mind . She is a disgusting girl like Charlie .

And about Strand , why they make him so complicated? I really like him but he always do something that surprise me!

So bad.
avnrulz15 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This episode had so many plot holes and convenient plot devices it was hard to watch. Dakota/Sioux gets burnt to a crisp, but Morgan and Grace survive, even though Grace should have, at a minimum, been flash blinded.

Sherry and Dwight tear the doors off of a shelter (1 of at least 3 in the episode!), but they survive the blast wave because they're tied on somewhere?

Teddy was going to enclose everyone in his underground parking garage, but now all of a sudden he knows where multiple bomb shelters (still stocked eight years into the apocalypse!) are, to suddenly enact his plan, part B?

We now have Strand, and JD Sr., at least, with bullet wounds, yet they're still running around, and Strand's going to build a new future in the irradiated coast of Texas? Oh, and he, too, conveniently finds a well-stocked location, which, though glass-fronted, survives a blast wave which destroys a house!

If I really cared, I'd look up the actual destructive power of ONE MIRV warhead to definitively prove NO ONE would have survived, but I'm really not that invested in this show any more. As another reviewer stated, they ripped of 'Z Nation', but 'Z Nation' ripped off the novel 'The Last Ship', and, seriously, we'd probably be looking at 'On the Beach' at this point.

And how the hell did Morgan and Grace hear a crying baby from inside the bowels of a boomer?

The season finale is suspenseful from start to finish, memorable not incredible - Fear's 6th season ended strong
Holt34414 June 2021
The Walking Dead veteran, Michael E. Satrazemis returns to direct the season 6 finale of Fear TWD. He does an amazing job, great direction and visual storytelling, camera work and cinematography are top notch. The writing is mostly very good, but some parts of the episode felt rough but the impressive cinematography and acting made up it. Like I wrote in my review for the previous episode, these two episodes have both the good and bad writing from the showrunners. It's a suspenseful and original plot for TWD, I'm glad they went for it and it was mostly a success. I did find the pacing to be lacking, but it was unique and worked with the episode.

The previous episode had Strand leave Morgan to get eaten by walkers, there's some bad blood between them. I had my problems with Morgan letting Teddy and his ally live and go free but I understand his reasons, it leaves for some drama and us getting more of John Glover which is truly fantastic in the role as Teddy Maddox. Onto the finale, the missile was fired and Teddy's plan was partly executed. This episode deals with the aftermath of the nuclear missiles that was launched, plus how the characters will deal with it or in other words... survive. I don't really know what to say about the episode, it was good but nothing special but maybe my expectations were too high. The showrunners failed Alicia Clark but succeeded with Victor Strand, I'm so happy that they understand Strand now in S6 as he finally feels like the character we loved from Dave Erickson's run. Daniel Salazar's arc this season with dementia, at first I wasn't really fond of it but after this episode and giving it some though I can say it's a great character's arc but I miss Daniel from S1-3, not often you get well written anti-heroes like that. This finale was about each character getting their endings as we don't know who will survive the nuclear blast. That made for some incredible character interactions and even showdowns between heroes and villains.

There were loads of great performances in the season finale. Colman Domingo, Austin Amelio, Zoe Margaret Colletti and Karen David stood out the most. Colman Domingo have shown again and again how great an actor he is, and delivering dialogue and monologues is something he is extra keen with, he was simply terrific in this episode. Though Alexa Nisenson didn't bring a great performance, it was nice to see her get more screen time and not be forgotten as she is or at least was an important character. It was nice to see almost the whole cast in this episode, Maggie Grace wasn't there physically but in voice over the radio. The episode would have been better if Alycia Debnam-Carey would have been in the episode, it makes zero sense to me that she wasn't in the penultimate episode nor the finale.

It was a great finale though and with a finale comes conclusions to character and story arcs, the showrunners succeeded in the various of character arcs as I found all of them interesting and they concluded them in a good way. In my opinion, season 6 was a great season. They placed the Fear back into the show and it was nice to see Dwight and Sherry get a lot of screen time. Too bad Althea and Alicia got less to none screen time. I can't wait for the seventh season, but I also wonder where they will go from here.

5 out of 5 stars

Intense and thrilling as characters go on an emotional journey with the little time they have left. Action packed. Thrilling. And a great cliffhanger.

Season 6 overall i would rate 4 out of 5 stars. This season has improved over the last. Its action packed. More fast moving. And does deliver an emotional journey. Hoping next season gets better.

Warning: Spoilers
I really enjoyed this finale. Wonderful performances from Zoe Colletti, Karen David, & John Glover. I'm very excited to see what comes in season 7. Definitely worth a rewatch. I particularly enjoyed the little skit/segments they did with the character quote on screen. Plenty of tense moments, and sets up a good story/obstacle for the next season. I'm not sure if they plan on making season 7 the last but i think they could go on until an 8th season and end it there.

A bit of a mess but at least watchable
ejarvis-6575724 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I really wanted this season to be consistent with its strong start. I feel like Virginia should have gone with season 5 and the whole nuclear missile mini storyline with the amazing John glover was a whole seasons worth crammed into a few episodes. It was a mess if I'm honest. I can't say I've not enjoyed the whole thing but we cannot pretend that just because the show runners stepped up a small (tiny) notch, that the show is back to its season 3 brilliance. It's not. Man I wish Morgan would just stay dead.

The end? The beginning? Or the beginning of the end?
brgordon-4164814 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This episode was a stellar end to an amazing and game changing season! They promised to go dark and man did they go dark! They even committed to the crazy and unthinkable way to end the season instead of finding a cop out to "make it all better" like too many shows do.

The one thing I wish they would have capitalized on was the was the perfect opportunity to kill off Strand. They had his character come full circle and perfectly set up his end down to the shots they used but never "pull the trigger"... literally... I was waiting for a gunshot and a reveal. That would have been the perfect end for such a slimy character but he lives to fight another day as did too many characters for my liking. I think it would have made more of an impact if more major characters bit the nuclear dust but maybe thats yet to come.

But oh well that did not take away from what was a crazy finale that leaves you begging the question, are we close to the end of the show or is this "just the beginning" ? As a wise man once said.

P. S we got to see that b**** get vaporized!!!!!!! Hell yeah!!!!!! I couldn't have been the only one that cheered 😁

Let Fear have its 9.5+ Episode ...
hashemsaydali10 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
-Overall : -This episode is about the moments before the bomb hits , Its normal to look at each of the scattered groups of our characters , Will they seek survival or just step down .

-Most moments were interesting ,that I didn't even feel the 50 mins.

-Deaths: -Rachel, It wasn't that sad at first, but When Morgan saw her it was really shocking from his point of view , she sacrificed her self in order to walk her child into someone of the group that will keep him safe -Dakota, Wasn't sure that she'll die until the shockwave burned her , this scene "the visuals" was the most shocking of them all "the word Fear is fit for it" -teddy and his men , Well they got what they deserved.

-CRM:
  • finally, more about the CRM , the primer of the season 7 will give us more info about them and Isabelle
-this might play a big role in the next season

just like how intense the last seasons finale, But Way Better!

Holy shit I'm Excited!!

[5.8] FTWD made for Morgan!
cjonesas24 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
As a season finale, it was completely mumbo jumbo, combining Jericho-like events with the FTWD, not a very wise or fresh idea. Add to that, unrealistic payload effects, unbelievable surviving of the characters, the time "that" took to split to various warheads and explode, and a trigger-happy and deranged Dakota who tasted an eternal slice of her own dementia. She was a very interesting character, she goes out and Morgan gets to maybe survive. What kind of magic the guy exerts on the showrunners?!

"This isn't the end". they taunt us, But it should be, please let it be over.
Rob-O-Cop11 June 2021
Cliche tagger normaliser wastes good running away time by slipping in 'just one more' stupid tag, making us all think, "it really should be the end, please let it be over".

There were so many stupid plot details and logic holes in this potato salad of an episode it's hard to keep track of them all. I shouldn't bother and neither should you.

Seeking shelter from a bomb under a truck when there's a perfectly good beached submarine, the worst storm shelter they could find, no blast wave for strand as he stands in front of a full glass window to watch a nuke go off, wtf they keep psycho enemies around throwing away a perfectly working walkie for no real reason to set up a plot convenience later, fixing a brake fault with a blow torch, and forgetting to do it when you have a fire fight then it's all fixed like new, it just goes on and on, like this series. It doesn't know when to take the bullet to the head (3-4 series back)

Amazing finale!. But I'm worried about Morgan so many missiles explored near him.

Scenes from warheads, acting, Dakota's death was gruesome and oddilysatisfying Even CRM is here, so does that mean FTWD will be with CRM while TWD with commonwealth?. Nonetheless this was amazing finale.
