Three debates were scheduled but only two were held. The second debate, scheduled for October 15, was canceled. After Donald Trump contracted Covid-19, the Commission on Presidential Debates announced on October 8 that the debate would be held virtually. Trump backed out so the debate was canceled. Both Biden and Trump instead held separate town hall events, airing at the same time on different TV networks.
