Decent episode, weird montage

Warning: Spoilers
Not as good as episodes 1-5, but it's still great. There's a musical montage that's super out of character for the show, and it's pretty poorly done. Not sure why they decided to do a montage, really strange.

Nerves to the limit

It seems to me that such a situation could well be in real life. Show creators know which strings to pull. After all, if everyone did the right thing, then there would be no problems. And it turns out like a happy birthday. I wanted the best, but it turned out, as always.

But on the other hand, in this episode it became clear that Alex did the right thing when she left Sean.

Maid (2021)

Series

1st Season

Episode Six - M

Sean and Alex's father together seem like a meeting of anonymous aggressors or alcoholics anonymous.

What a wonderful mini musical.

How extremely angry Sean is, what are the chances of the story he told about his current one trying something with him and him not wanting to be a lie?

Wow, I really liked that place, but Sean had to ruin everything.

But maybe that's a good thing, now she gives a chance to the guy who has a crush on her, the bad thing is that Sean is going to make hell with it.

Episode six of the first season of the Miniseries Maid watched on May 23, 2024.

Rating: 10/10.

A complete disappointment
peterkowalski20 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
After an unusually creepy, but ultimately victorious previous episode, "M" feels like a character development u-turn. It's a complete mystery why Alex would allow the birthday party to get out of hand, especially after last episode's discovery, and risk losing her newly found (and hard won) paradise home. A complete disaster.

Disappointing storyline

Warning: Spoilers
Up until this episode I've thought this show to be one of the best I've ever seen. It's felt so real. Alex's success of getting a new home and a good preschool was obviously too much for it to storywise make sense not to ruin it somehow. But to ruin it this way is completely nonsensical. As pointed out by another reviewer, it goes against what we've seen of Alex's character so far. She cares about Maddy's wellbeing more than anything. She had every opportunity to set her foot down and say "no, no booze at my daughter's birthday party!". Just utter nonsense that she would jeopardise her new found home in this way. Disappointed.

Nice building up the story she got is all in here favour and then decide to completely screw it up. How is this possible. She isn't that stupid. Very frustrating as a viewer.

Almost quit watching the series because of this disaster of an episode
dld-millennium1 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
However, having invested 6 hours or so in the series we continued. Of course the disappointment with the episode revolves around the birthday party. Everyones' actions were whims of the writers, not logical extensions of the characters' personalities. With the liberties the writers allegedly have taken with the memoirs the series is based on, I doubt if the birthday party went down as shown, hence, a miserable episode rating for a well above average series.

Soap opera nonsense

Warning: Spoilers
The series started well and has now delved into complete rubbish. The birthday party and everything surrounding it didn't really make sense and was a frustrating and unrealistic watch. I feel like this is almost too similar with Netflix series now, hype and social media campaigns with quick and interesting starts that eventually fizzle out and lack any substance in the end. Reluctantly have to finish this series. Do yourself a favour and don't start it.
