A bit clumsy and rushed here and there, but still worth watching for fans of the movie

Warning: Spoilers
The title of this project, "Mean Girls Reunion", is fairly telling or is it really? Let's get to that in a second. What we have here is a 16.5-minute short film that is basically an interview that brings back many of the protagonists from the film "Mean Girls" and they give us their thoughts on it all and it was fun to hear, even if the question what they thought when they got their part was featured a bit too often here. Katie Couric takes the parts of the interviewer and asks the questions, but sometimes the actors also just elaborate without being asked anything specific. I think it is nice they got them all together and I mean sure Amy Poehler was not there, but her role was small anyway, even if it was somewhat memorable and the cherry reference at the beginning is pretty telling there. It is also interesting to see how the careers have progressed in the then 16, now almost 20 years since the full feature film. The two that stand out from the younger folks are of course Seyfried and McAdams who are now Oscar nominees. Seyfried is there and seems pretty cozy and apparently she had just given birth not too long before this got made. As for McAdams, I am not even sure if she was there. I mean she answers a question and is seen filling the screen, but I did not spot her on the screen that showed us everybody. Probably not everybody recognized it. The rest were there though.

Surely, it would have been better if they had all been in the same room, but this was probably not doable with their homes far away from each other and the projects they were working on in addition to that. Or most of them. Maybe a TV special as it was done with Harry Potter may have been a better idea. That way, they really could have reunited at one location. The camera seemed a bit wild here early on, but you get used to it or it gets better as the interviews continue. Even if I feel the actors got some time to prepare and probably also were informed about what they would be asked, it was a solid watch overall and I mean there is no denying the film is still so highly popular that it was a good idea to make this. The millions of people who have seen it on Youtube by now confirm this obviously. The ending was maybe a bit overly melodramatic with one person getting so emotional, but it is okay. Also interesting there to hear about a potential musical and the characters briefly talking about the option of a sequel, even if, despite all those sequels to even older films being made nowadays, the possibility seems pretty small. We will see. Lindsay would be on board I guess. It is still her career-defining film and always may be perhaps and same is true for pretty much all the other cast members, even if this was more of a Teen Choice film than an Oscars movie.

Interesting as well that 3rd October is so significant here because it is a national holiday in Germany. I am not sure when the film was on again at a big movie theater for a one-time occasion here in Berlin, definitely not on October 3rd, but I do know that the room was packed and tickets sold out pretty much. This movie is a cult classic and rightfully so. Everybody needs to see it at least once. Here and there, this lengthy interview was something that could be nicely included on a DVD or Blu-ray and if you like the film, you will probably enjoy it for the most part. To sum it all up, I would like to say that it is fairly impressive how well almost all the cast members have aged here, especially the females, and that most of them are still really attractive even so many years later. The big enthusiasm about this project I still don't have overall as I believe there are a handful aspects that really could have been handled better, like the location, camera work, questions etc. The film would have deserved better. It is still good enough for a positive recommendation. Nothing to really rush seeing, but maybe a good idea to check out afterwards the next time you (re)watch "Mean Girls". It's not a really long film anyway if I remember correctly.

Mean girls 1 is way better than mean girls 2. I like seeing the OG cast reunite after so long.
