The title, Damnant Quod Non Intelligunt, means "they condemn what they do not understand."
King George III (r.1760-1820), known as the Mad King, is believed to have suffered from porphyria. His symptoms - purple-red urine, chronic pain, and bouts of total insanity, were recorded by his personal physician allowing experts to make the posthumous diagnosis.
