The scene with Robert Pollard was filmed very early into the shoot.
The scene where they go to Safeway was filmed very early in the shoot, before the COVID-19 pandemic became very widespread, hence why Linn Benton isn't wearing a mask in the scene. The crew thought about re-filming the scene to go with the rest of the film, but ultimately decided against it because "it was funny".
The film is also known as "We Cough Econo" because the crew and one of their friends couldn't agree on what to call the movie. Their friend wanted "Cough" fearing that having a movie with "quarantine" in the title would be too dated, while M.D. Schneider wanted to make use of the trend of quarantine-themed videos. As a compromise, Linn Benton decided to market the film under both titles.
Shooting for the film originally began in March, but M.D. Schneider and Linn Benton weren't satisfied with most of the scenes shot, so they were scrapped and re-filming began in May. The scenes where they go to Safeway are perhaps the only scenes leftover from the original shoot.
Fitting for all of The Beatles/John Lennon references in the film, it was released on October 9, 2020, which would have been Lennon's 80th birthday.
