Often, what you see on a screen when it comes to Hollywood blockbusters is not at all what the initial footage looked like. Whether it’s CGI, practical effects, models, costumes, make-up or any of the other numerous tactics employed to create movie magic, the finished product is almost always enhanced in some manner, especially when it comes to big budget films.
Thankfully, nearly every major blockbuster has its production recorded and documented by photographers and over the years, some truly incredible, exciting and often hilarious behind the scenes photos have made their way online. And so, on that note, join us today as we settle into another edition of our weekly column, where we’ll be exploring Joss Whedon’s Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Although not many may come to think it, Hulk and Wolverine have been inextricably linked since they went toe to toe in Logan’s first appearance way back in The Incredible Hulk #181. As time’s gone by, the two have repeatedly locked horns, teamed up and even carried their storied history over into other media, namely the 2009 animated film Hulk vs. Wolverine, which I highly recommend checking out.
As some of you may be aware, Marvel recently took the next step by (sort of) combining the two as part of the Weapons of Mutant Destruction storyline. Granted, it was the Amadeus Cho version of the Green Goliath and not Bruce Banner that was designated as “Weapon H,” but it’ll no doubt be remembered as an interesting bit of comic book trivia for years to come.

Last week we raised some big questions about the Hulk's role in the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok movie, based on actor Mark Ruffalo's recent terse and open-ended Twitter post. Ruffalo briefly hinted at the resolution to Hulk vs. Thor gladiator-style fight, which only added to the hype, but failed to provide much context. McU fans have big expectations for Hulk's development over the next several films, but right now there's not much intel to go on.
During this past weekend's D23 expo in Anaheim, California Fandango ran into Mr. Ruffalo and goaded him into revealing a bit more about Hulk's upcoming arc. This time, however, he describes things with a bit more color, specifically what we can expect in the (recently wrapped) Avengers: Infinity War. You can watch the video from Twitter below:

This review is based off a volume that collects Spider-Man/Deadpool #6-7, 11-12 and 1.Mu.
As enjoyable as books chronicling the adventures of the Justice League or Avengers may be, they often don’t get to explore the interpersonal relationships shared between specific superheroes as often as we’d like. But, when you pare it down to two, you’re given a much different kind of team-up comic. Personally, I enjoy seeing the best buddy dynamic offered whenever Batman and Superman join forces or, likewise, whenever the Flash and Green Lantern go back to back. On the other hand, I also get a kick out of the veritable powder keg that is Daredevil and Punisher.
The focus of today’s review, though, Spider-Man/Deadpool, may be in a class of its own. You’ve got a do-gooder in Peter Parker and a mercenary in Wade Wilson, so, logically, they shouldn’t get along.

Back in 2009 when Marvel was developing great animated films, they released a two-part movie called Hulk Vs. One story focused on Hulk Vs. Thor and the other one focused on Hulk Vs. Wolverine. If you haven't seen this movie you should check it out because it's pretty awesome.
Anyway, some cool storyboard art has surfaced for the Hulk Vs. Wolverine aspect and it included a concept that ultimately wasn't used in the story. The art comes from director Frank Paur and it came with the following commentary:
"My original story about Hulk Vs Wolverine dealt with a retelling of the Windigo story from Wolverines First appearance In the Hulk comic. Whereas Hulk/Thor dealt with the mindless rampaging Hulk, Hulk/Wolverine would have dealt with the child-like Hulk. Hulk finds a little girl alone in a destroyed town. He rescues the girl and takes her with him, and soon finds...

If you're a fan of the popular 1989 anime series Cowboy Bebop, you might be interested in learning that it's getting a live-action series adaptation. Cowboy Bebop is a great anime and I'm curious to see how they handle this live action adaptation.
The series is being developed by Tomorrow Studios and a partnership between ITV Studios and Marty Adelstein. It will also be executive produced by Sunset Inc., which is the same studio that produced the original anime series.
On top of that, they've hired Marvel writer Chris Yost to write the adaptation! Yost recently wrote Thor: Ragnarok as well as animated projects such as The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Wolverine, and the X-Men, Hulk Vs., X-Men: Evolution and more. He's a talented writer and a great choice to take on this project.

I like crowds. I like big noisy events. State fairs? Love ‘em. Black Friday shopping days? I’m there. Live music with tiny crowded dance floors? Sounds good to me. San Diego Comic Con? Yeah, baby. Ditto The New York Comic Con.
But on the other hand, when I’m thinking about Geek Culture and comic conventions, I find that I also enjoy small comic conventions. There’s a certain charm, an aura of creativity and a sense of community that embraces you in a unique way that you won’t find at NYC’s Javits Center.
I had to cancel out of this past weekend’s WonderCon in Anaheim, California. That was a drag as I was looking forward to being a panelist on Rik Offenberger’s Marketing/PR panel. As of right now, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2, set to Awesome Mix... bah, I am not repeating that whole synopsis again, is easily my most anticipated movie of the year, and I am sure others feel the same about the film. From the trailers we have seen, this epic space adventure promises even more action and one-liners than even the first installment.
Well, the guys (I am Very jealous of this interview, by the way) over at ComicBook.com were lucky enough to get a sitdown with the great Zoe Saldana, who plays Gamora, Star-Lord's main squeeze and a genetically modified daughter of Thanos, after he took her in when he destroyed her entire planet. The "daddy" relationship with Thanos soured immensely in the first Guardians of the Galaxy, and before we get to her quote, it is important to note that Gamora is not immortal.

As entertaining as the first two Thor films were – and we have no doubt the third offering will be a hit – the Son of Odin has yet to break the billion dollar mark as other non-Avengers movies put forth by the studio have, namely Captain America: Civil War and Iron Man 3. And, mark my words, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will achieve that milestone as well.

The brand new trailer for James Gunn’s Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 2 was released over the weekend and went down very well with the majority of fans. Not too surprisingly, the most talked about element was Baby Groot, who definitely stole the teaser with the hilarious/adorable moments he shared with best pal Rocket Raccoon. Given the immense popularity these characters already enjoyed after the first film, could we see a Rocket/Groot spinoff happen someday? Vin Diesel seems fairly confident that we will.
The Fast and Furious actor – who will once again provide the voice of Groot in the sequel – was interviewed by Screen Junkies at Brazil’s Ccxp the other day, and had some very interesting things to say about not only the prospect of Rocket and Groot getting their own movie, but also a fight between the sentient tree alien and The Incredible Hulk at some point in the future.

The Fast and Furious star seems pretty confident that it's only a matter of time before we see thie dynamic duo get the spinoff treatment, and he also says he "knows" that Groot Vs. The Incredible Hulk is in the cards. "I think if it’s up to James Gunn, you are going to see a Groot and Rocket movie after Infinity War. I think that’s highly possible. We shall see. I know that, somewhere in the universe, you are going to see Groot and Hulk battle. You can write it somewhere. You are going to see that poster: Hulk vs. Groot.

Marvel has released several pieces of variant cover art for the upcoming new comic book series Monsters Unleashed! I'm really pumped up about this series, and I think the team working on it at Marvel is going to pump out some pretty fun monster stories.
The series was previously described as featuring "a massive, simultaneous attack on the Marvel Universe by all of these monsters." Now we have an official description that breaks it all down for you:
Raining down from the skies, rising from the depths of the oceans and emerging from beneath the very Earth itself – monsters are invading, destroying everyone and everything in their path! The only thing that stands in their way is an army of the strongest superheroes in the Marvel Universe! But even they may not be enough to stop these towering titans! Open Road Films and Mattel have released the first domestic trailer for their upcoming live-action adaptation of Max Steel. The movie is based on Mattle's action figure line and animated series from the late '90s/early 2000s. This latest trailer is a lot better than the last international trailer that was released about a week ago. That thing was a mess, but this one is cut together so much better. You actually get a sense of what is going on and what the film is about. That being said, I'm still not sold on Max Steel. That first trailer left a bad taste in my mouth. I need to see more.
I have hope that it will be good, though, mostly because the script was written by Christopher Yost. He is the screenwriter of films such as Hulk Vs., Thor: The Dark World, and Thor: Ragnarok. I've also enjoyed his work on X-Men: Evolution,...

From what we know about Thor: Ragnarok, it's gonna be to be the most epic, craziest Thor adventure yet. Especially if the story includes elements from Planet Hulk, which was previously rumored.
During a recent interview with Collider, Mark Ruffalo talked a little bit more about the film and The Hulk and teased that the Green Goliath could face off with Bruce Banner:
"I think the arc that he is ultimately making in his relationship with The Hulk and how that's gonna resolve itself, that's really where ... nobody has gone to that place. He's always been running from him or trying to deny it but they are coming for a collision course with each other and i think that could be pretty exciting if we can figure out a way, how to do it — multi-dimensionally."
At that point during the interview, Ruffalo turned to his Now You See Me 2 co-star Woody Harrelson and excitedly said:
"Hulk versus Banner! Yeah, baby!"
They high fived each other. Then the actor dropped this comment:
"The only person in the world that The Hulk is scared of, or thing, is Banner."
For those of you have read the comics, you know that Hulk and Banner have been separated in certain storylines. That plot point was used in Marvel's animated film Hulk Vs. Thor, which was written by Craig Kyle and Chris Yost. That film features Loki separating Hulk from Banner and Hulk going on an epic rampage through Asgard. Those two writers just happen to be the same guys who wrote the initial script for Thor: Ragnarok.
We already knew there was a chance that we could see Hulk and Thor fight from previous rumors, but I would love to see the whole Hulk and Banner separation thing happen in the movie. It's a story element that I can easily see being implemented in the film.
The movie also stars Chris Hemsworth in the title role, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Sir Anthony Hopkins as Odin, Cate Blanchett as Hela, Jeff Goldblum as the Grandmaster, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, and Karl Urban as Skurge.
Thor: Ragnarok is directed by filmmaker Taika Waititi and is set to be released on November 3rd, 2017.

With word currently spreading that the Hulk, played by Mark Ruffalo, will probably appear in the third Thor film, fans are speculating on what possible role the green skinned Avenger will play in the movie. Cinelinx looks at 7 ways that the Incredible Hulk could fit into the Ragnarok story.
The story of Ragnarok—Aka, the Twilight of the Gods in Scandinavian/German mythology—has been retold many times in various mediums throughout the centuries, including comic books. The most well-known and popular of the comic interpretations of the Ragnarok story came during Walter Simonson’s run on Marvel’s Thor comic, running from issue 337-353.
The enduring popularity of this excellent story which has come to be known as the Surtur Saga, is no doubt a big part of the reason that the next Thor film is called Thor: Ragnarok, starring Chris Hemsworth as the eponymous God of Thunder. It...

Although Avengers: Age of Ultron performed well in theaters and earned a lot of positive reviews, it wasn.t without its detractors. Now that the movie is available on home media, it.s once again a prime candidate for parodies. Two weeks ago, it was an awarded an Honest Trailer that was actually on point with its criticisms. Now the 2015 blockbuster is the focus of a new "Everything Wrong With." video, and it is brutal. The folks at Cinema Sins waste no time laying into Avengers: Age of Ultron, even adding a point simply because the Marvel Studios logo was too long. Most of the video is targeted towards the absurd action sequences (particularly the Hulk vs. Hulkbuster battle), the movie.s overabundance of jokes/one-liners (like Hawkeye.s comment about not wanting to be mind controlled again) and story elements that didn.t make sense (Black Widow and Hulk...

Oh, Jon Stewart. Don't you know you won't like The Hulk when he's angry? It's a good thing Mark Ruffalo stayed calm when "The Daily Show" host launched a superhero debate. "The Avengers" star was on Jon's show to promote his movie, "Infinitely Polar Bear," but -- seemingly out of nowhere -- Jon decided to tackle the question of Hulk vs. Superman. Who would win in a fight?
Jon Stewart: "So my take on it is, Superman can fly."
Mark Ruffalo: "Hulk can bounce."
Jon: "My point to them [the audience] was, if they both stood like this and both jumped, who's coming down first?"
Mark: "Ok. If the high jump was the determining factor of who would win .... and, you know, I have a point ... I'm going to miss you."
The audience cheered this nod to Jon leaving "The Daily Show," and Jon laughed too, but he was really...

As photos from the set of "Captain America: Civil War" have slowed to none this week with production having likely moved onto the sound stages at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta, a new rumor has surfaced over at McU Exchange which deals with one of the surprise returnees for the upcoming film.
Potential Spoilers Ahead
Last month came word that not only is Paul Rudd showing up in his "Ant-Man" garb in the film, but William Hurt would be reprising his role from 2008's "The Incredible Hulk" as General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross.
Now, the new report suggests that we will see General Ross transform into the Red Hulk in the movie, and he will engage in a battle with the current Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) in a fight scene that is said to be akin to the recent Hulk vs. Iron Man Hulkbuster scene from "Avengers: Age of Ultron".

The following video takes a closer look at the work which went into bringing the Hulk vs. Hulkbuster fight to life in Avengers: Age of Ultron, and it's revealed that the plan was for the Green Goliath to go grey during the time he spend under the control of the Scarlet Witch. A specific reason for that not happening in the movie isn't given, but it sounds like Marvel decided to keep him his original colour, possibly overruling Whedon's original plan. Who knows, but as merchandise was made for a grey "Savage Hulk", it might have been a choice made at a fairly late stage in production. HitFix certainly doesn't lack for coverage of "Avengers: Age of Ultron," including Drew McWeeny's review and the whole staff picking the best and worst parts of the film. But as someone who's been writing about Joss Whedon's work for a long time, and as someone who's been covering "Agents of Shield" this season (more on that in a bit), I wanted to offer some thoughts on the movie, its place in both the Marvel filmography and Whedon's, with lots and lots of spoilers for the film (so beware), coming up just as soon as I remodel the dining room... I have to admit to feeling a certain level of dread as "Age of Ultron" approached. The first "Avengers" was a fun movie, and a culmination of all the things Whedon had been doing on both the small and big screens. This is a weird thing to suggest about...

Going into the screening of Avengers: Age of Ultron, I was kind of dubious. It’s a sequel to a beloved movie, and those are always hard to pull off, plus previews had shown about 37 different villains, which is death for a movie. In addition, there were rumors of about 15 different plotlines for the various characters. It seemed impossible for even the patron saint of geeks, Joss Whedon, to pull off. Luckily, I didn’t need to worry. Age of Ultron does a lot, but it mostly does it very well.
The movie wastes no time, beginning in the middle of an assault on a Hydra stronghold believed to be storing Loki’s scepter. We quickly learn that the whole team — Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow, and Hawkeye — have been working together to mop up the remnants of Hydra for awhile now, and they are an incredibly efficient team.

This seems like it's pretty much just one big spoiler for anyone excited to see Avengers: Age of Ultron, but hey, I guess that's the new age of movie marketing as Disney and Marvel have released a new 90-second clip from the upcoming superhero feature, this one featuring the Hulk vs. Tony Stark's Hulkburster suit. I'm not comic book specialist, but I can sort of figure out how this works, but I'm not going to look into the whys of it all. If you're interested in getting in on the action before the film's May 1 release give the clip a watch below. With so many characters to handle in "Avengers: Age Of Ultron," Joss Whedon has the difficult task of making familiar franchise faces seem fresh. We haven't seen players like Hulk or Hawkeye very often in the Marvel-verse, but that was by design, because they should get a little more play in the upcoming sequel. "As Phase 2 came together, Joss told me that Hulk and Hawkeye needed to have less exposure in the Phase films because [Joss Whedon] had specific ideas for what he wanted to do with them in [Avengers: Age of Ultron]," Marvel exec Kevin Feige recently said at a press conference (via ComicBookMovie). With the release this weekend of both Disney’s live-action Cinderella and the Liam Neeson actioner Run All Night, we’re finally out of the early-year movie doldrums. And as I’ve said many times, dear readers, it’s never too early to look forward to what’s coming out. In that spirit, this week’s Trailer Trashin’ column takes another look at the first big movie of summer 2015, Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Premise: With S.H.I.E.L.D. destroyed and the Avengers needing a hiatus from stopping threats, Tony Stark/Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) attempts to jump-start a dormant peacekeeping program with Ultron (James Spader), a self-aware, self-teaching, artificial intelligence. But the plan backfires when Ultron decides that humans are the real enemy and sets out to eradicate them from the Earth, and it is up to Iron Man, Steve Rogers/Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Bruce...

We are so close to seeing a new Avengers 2 trailer! In fact, if you want to speed up that process, do what Marvel suggests and start tweeting with the hashtag #AvengersAssemble. While you.re doing that, though, Entertainment Tonight has some exclusive new footage from the highly anticipated sequel. Most exciting of all is that we get to see more of Quicksilver in action. Check out this footage of him battling Captain America! The footage from Et is pretty lengthy and it.s packed with new scenes, like Cap overlooking the Johannesburg, South Africa set where Joss Whedon filmed the big Hulk vs. Hulkbuster battle, as well as a full line-up of the team standing in that mysterious house we still know nothing about. New action-packed TV spot for ‘The Avengers: Age of Ultron’ highlights the Hulk vs. Hulkbuster fight
The Avengers: Age of Ultron promises to not only live up to all the hype, but possibly be better than its predecessor. After releasing two incredible theatrical trailers, Marvel has dropped a new TV spot for writer/director Joss Whedon’s Marvel sequel three months before the film’s release. There’s a lot packed into this quick 30 second TV spot including Captain America facing off against Ultron’s robot henchmen and Hulk going up against Tony Stark in his Hulkbuster armor. Disney wisely opted not to buy ad time for the film during this weekend’s Super Bowl, and instead they’ve put it out ahead of time for our viewing pleasure. Written and directed by Joss Whedon, The Avengers: Age of Ultron stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, James Spader, Stellan Skarsgard, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders,...

While the latest preview for The Avengers: Age of Ultron gave fans plenty of new, exciting material, as with most superhero movies trailers, there were also a ton of new questions raised to chew on. What exactly does Ultron have planned? Are we getting Black Widow flashbacks? Will Marvel show all of the Hulk vs. Hulkbuster fight in commercials before the movie is actually released? Is Hulk suffering from spring allergies? Okay, that last one might just be me. However, the most intriguing head scratcher comes at the 0:33 mark, where a mysterious woman is shown disrobing in a cave. Fans have been speculating all over our social media pages and comment sections about who she might be, and if there's one thing comic book fans love, it's figuring out who someone is before the movie studio gives us a name. It.s possible that we won't know for sure...

The first trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron was great and all, but the second was perhaps even better. Light on story, but heavy on action, there were some cool reveals (which you can read more about in our breakdown by clicking here), but we've decided to round up ten of the best looking action scenes in gif form for you to relive. Needless to say, they're all pretty damn awesome! Whether it's Ultron and Scarlet Witch taking down Earth's Mightiest Heroes (with oddly similar looking energy blasts) or Captain America getting his butt kicked by one of Ultron's drones, all the very best moments can be seen right here. Our favourite? It has to be Hulk vs. Hulkbuster of course...did you ever think we'd see That on the big screen? Let us know your top picks below. Artist Jason Kang created this cool illustration of Hulk and Wolverine in the heat of battle. This is a fun piece, and the Hulk has a very interesting face. It's unlike any other Hulk design I've seen before, and it's all in the nose. Hulk and Wolverine have one of the greatest rivalries in comic book history, and it's one I'm sure fans would love to see brought to life on the big screen. Unfortunately, that's something we'll probably never see happen. The Hulk Vs. animated movie has a pretty badass version worth checking out if you haven't already! Originally it wasn't due online until next week, but the first trailer for Marvel and Disney's "Avengers: Age of Ultron" leaked a few hours ago and so the studio has brought it online.
Amongst the highlights are looks at Ultron in several forms, full on Hulk vs. Iron Man action in the Hulkbuster armor, much of the Avengers team looking despondent, Thor trying to strangle Tony Stark, and lots of fighting in both a snow-bound eastern Europe and in a U.S. city.

We’ve already seen Hulk take on Thor in The Avengers, and we know he’ll be going up against Iron Man and his Hulkbuster armor in Avengers: Age of Ultron. But with the rights to the X-Men firmly at Fox, it’ll be a long time before we see the most famous Hulk battle brought to life on the big-screen. Fans have been hungry for a Hulk Vs. Wolverine showdown for long time. The surprisingly graphic animated version that was released back in 2009 helped curb those hunger pangs, but this great piece by Stjepan Sejic will have you jonesing to see these two Marvel characters go toe-to-toe once again.
We’ve featured numerous pieces of Stjepan’s art over the years, and he always wows us with his color work and composition. Be sure to check out more of his work here.

While Marvel might be trouncing DC in the live-action blockbuster arena, thanks in large part to Marvel’s multi-film universe that succeeds even when it’s not at its best and DC’s seeming inability to create a live-action film that doesn’t botch more than it gets right, when it comes to the animated feature department, Marvel just can’t get it right. Maybe that’s because they’re stuck in a mindset that the anime style is the way to go or they just don’t take that division of their film department seriously, but whatever the case, Avengers Confidential: Black Widow & Punisher is just another bungled animated feature that will only make you more grateful for the live-action films hitting theaters twice a year. At this point, if you’re really hankering for animated Marvel features, you’re better off picking up the older Hulk vs., Planet Hulk,...

Here's a fantastic piece of Wolverine fan art created by Mike Huddleston. I'm a huge fan of Wolverine, and I've enjoyed seeing Hugh Jackman play the character over the years, but I'm kind of looking forward to a fresh take on the character. I would specifically like to see Wolverine finally put on his classic costume in a film. There's a way to do it that isn't cheesy, and this art and the design we saw in Marvel's animated Hulk Vs. film prove that. Maybe one day it will happen. In the meantime we can always enjoy the art.
