A bit too political and religous
gambit-fox28 October 2022
I could understand the political incorrectness, low rungs of any party worker is just a puppet, mixing religion and condescending a particular culture is a bit far fetched. Oru partyum evide shudham maar alla, everyone has got their hands stained and more will definitely follow. The movie Kuruthi had the same vibe, but it balanced out things from both perspective. Both Asif Ali and. Roshan Mathew are underrated, also Nikhila Vimal. Hope they select good scripts, rather than just the director's name. Now waiting for Kaapa. It's a good movie worth a watch if you're viewing from just one lens and perception. Sure a one time watch.

Must Watch by Political enthusiasts

Warning: Spoilers
It speaks about how political murders take place from one party to another. It also highlights the loss of life borne by the low earning or middle-class members of the community.

I liked the part which the movie is trying to show; consequences that happen when one kills another member. The part where Kanakkans' daughter looks at Shanu with her innocence can win the heart of the viewers!

This movie also shows the human lives being impacted due to political rivalries. There is no special effect, and every part of this movie is quite thriller and spine chilling for the viewer.

Overall, a good movie and a must watch especially for our younger generation.

slow drama with a few fights

Warning: Spoilers
Somehow we had the impression that Kotthu was going to be a thriller by looking at its poster and watching the trailer.

It turned out to be a slow drama with a few fights. The film was presented like a documentary without having a cinematic effect to it

DELICIOUS

-Kotthu illustrated what political party life is about: members who pledge allegiance to an ideology and are willing to do anything, even if it means killing or dying.

-It was touching to see the solidarity between Shanu and Sumesh; they wholeheartedly supported each other as well as their families through thick and thin.

No need to stress how Roshan Mathews can ACE any role😃 He radiated Sumesh's beautiful spirit in a touching way, it almost felt like he was Sumesh in real life!

-Kotthu took the time to spotlight the martyrs' families.

We indeed got to see how the victims' families endured great agony while parties were raging vengeance against each other

BLAND

-The lighting was bright, way too bright for the sad atmosphere of the narrative

-Kotthu had no parallel story; the entire film revolved around Shanu and the party which became inevitably redundant.

Moreover, the movie wasn't quite engaging; it was more like a documentary presenting the facts and acts of political party members and we just sat there as observers.

True Events of Kerala Politics
adhvaidhahari1 November 2022
A superb movie by Sibi Malayil and team. Please watch and support the good intention this movie was made exposing the narrow minded views of the political leaders of Kerala. All the characters have acted superbly. The movie highlights the general feeling of the public in Kerala only the political workers get killed and their families suffer but the political leaders enjoy all the comforts of life and lead a safe life with their families. The narrow political mindset of these leaders are exposed in this movie. Need more such movies so the political workers get enlightened and no more political killings. Why the leaders don't fight against each other? . The ordinary party worker has to sacrifice his life.?

Who want third rated Kerala politics (of uneducated fools)
jaycdp-0477017 January 2023
Kerala is known for cheap third rated rowdy dictatorship and foolish people enjoy such movies and vote for such a fraud.

Who in the world like village idots of kerla Who wants to go back and settle in Kerala?

If it was Hyderabad or Mysore, then you can call it civilized people.

People like Mammooty and Mohanlal had their time and now they are forced to act for third rated party unions people like INTUC and CITU and more.

Obviously, it was a land of art and now it is the land of criminals, and you cannot even visit the place without getting a food poison.

Again, cannot stand a movie based on.

Good watch
rahul-2186520 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The whole movie is a narrative on the risks political workers take, either due to a debt owed to the party or for the need to be recognized and respected within the ranks. It highlights the impact on the families of these workers and the suffering they endure, owing to decisions taken in anger or haste. It's fast paced, not a dull moment and the casting is on point. I would've liked a more conclusive ending, something that showed the protagonist has grown from his mistakes and has matured out of this cycle of killing and revenge. But in a sense, it shows the reality for those who've got their hands too deep in the dirt that there is no returning to normalcy again. Well made movie, good job by the team.
