Sarah and John got to hospital
Tweekums30 January 2013
Warning: Spoilers
This episode opens with both Sarah and John in hospital; John is there because of Riley's suicide attempt and Sarah is in a different hospital following the bullet wound she received to her leg in the previous episode. While there she starts to hallucinate that Kyle Reese is there with her. He tells her she must get out of there so she incapacitates a guard, steals his gun then escapes. Once outside she kidnaps a female doctor in order to force her to remove the bullet. Away from the Connors, James Ellison is continuing to talk to John Henry, as is Catherine Weaver; it is clear that John Henry is more perceptive than either of them realised; he is the first 'person' to realise that Catherine isn't human. He tells her of a message he intercepted which leads to her driving out to the desert warehouse and eliminating any evidence of what was being done there.

For the first half I thought this was going to be a fairly action free episode; that changed dramatically when Catherine went to the warehouse and we see her using her liquid metal body to kill numerous people; this spectacular scene was followed by an equally spectacular explosion. That wasn't the last action either as the doctor treating Sarah ends up confronting the town sheriff in a way that will lead to another person being shot. This was a pretty good episode although the scenes involving Sarah and Catherine were more interesting than those involving John and Riley. Shirley Manson does a fine job as Catherine; the character is almost human but not quite. On the downside I wasn't so sure about Jonathan Jackson's appearance as Kyle; it wasn't that he gave a poor performance; just that he was very different from Michael Biehn's performance in the original film. Overall this was a pretty good episode; much better than I thought it would be.

... the leg, and nobody knows who to blame, darling you give hallucinations a bad name, but at least the swelling was sufficient to pad out the mundane.

T2 error

I like that this show is back on the air. It needs more action with the machines that it has but that's OK.

I watched the first show on the new Friday night time slot and it was decent. I did however notice that when Sarah is getting fixed up by the doctor about halfway through the episode that the doctor pulls Sarah's shirt back on her shoulder and asks about the scar, which Sarah replies that a machine stabbed her to try and find John. They used the wrong shoulder. It's a reference to T2 with the T-1000 unit stabbing her at the end in the refinery or whatever it is. He stabs her in the right shoulder not the left, as shown in the TV episode. If you're going to make a show with continuity in regards to the movies at least be correct about it :)
