Worst Tv Show Ever is the Best and Very Entertaining!
regentstreetcap-777819 November 2020
From the prolific producers of Amazon Prime's "WingMen", the 30 episode/two season comedic tv series, the films "The Executive", "WingMan" and "Croatia With Love", now streaming on YouTube is "Worst Tv Show Ever", which is a sequel to "The Executive" and a prequel to "WingMan", the tragicomic finale of the WingMen film trilogy.

In "Worst Tv Show Ever", Lars Larsdon/ Boss Hogg, a white-suited larger than live character and his two dim-witted but lovable friends, hotel/condo employees Rinaldo and Johnny, are given hundreds of thousands of dollars by the delusional in over his head film/tv producer, Mitch Wolfe, to realize their cinematic dreams. These three amigos embark on hilarious journeys through Nashville, Memphis and ultimately Las Vegas, in search of fame, fortune, love, sex and Korean steam buns. Their dreams are the American dreams. And perhaps your dreams. Take this crazy journey with them. You will not regret it.

Worst Tv Show Ever is not the Worst
sarahmeredith-214739 November 2020
I was captivated by this title and its provocative movie poster. As a feminist, I am normally turned off pictures of bikini-clad women and fat white-suited men stuffing their faces together with other large muscular men draped over muscle cars. I was ready to hate "Worst Tv Show Ever", but strangely I found this movie sweet, funny and somewhat sad. The all business and no heart Mitch Wolfe character, the producer of this failed project initially turned me off with his brusque personality. But over the course of this very entertaining movie, I saw his vulnerability and fragility. In the same way, through this very thoughtful and insightful movie, I saw the humanity and vulnerability of these three lovable chunky losers, Boss Hogg, Rinaldo and Johnny. Beneath their crude exteriors, lay the hearts and souls of three sad middle aged men, stuck on a ferris wheel to nowhere. Until they get this one last chance for fame and fortune and relevance. I wanted to hate this film. But by the end of the film, I empathized with the sad fate of these three little men.

Worst Tv Show Ever Was So Entertaining!
larrysmith-229719 November 2020
I was captured by the title. I have seen many bad tv shows in my life. Was this movie within a fake tv title, the worst? No way, Jose. With minimal introduction, we are first introduced to this Mitch Wolfe character, an apparent film producer who is engaged in an argument with one of his unmanageable stars, the Lars/Boss Hogg character. Wolfe gives Hogg creative license to do his film. Follow his muse. Wolfe does the same thing with a another non leading man, the pock-marked overweight poorly dressed Rinaldo, a Latin American born doorman who has aspirations to be a a drug lord. Somehow, Asian-American Johnny Kim is thrown in the mix.

These three minor characters are thrown in the cinematic deep in and we, the viewers are off and running as we follow these three lost souls try to find themselves in Nashville, Memphis and Las Begas, to coin a Rinaldo phrase.

I loved these three losers. Check out this movie/tv show!

Worst Tv Show Ever Is Surprisingly Good
donnazubrod9 November 2020
With a movie title such as "Worst Tv Show Ever", one does not expect Academy award-winning film making. But this very entertaining film is extremely amusing and thought-provoking. I loved the Mitch Wolfe producer character who set this story in motion by giving about $250,000 to the Rinaldo and Boss Hogg characters to do their own film. The Latin American Rinaldo, the obsese Hogg and their loyal companion Asian star Johnny Kim are EveryMen. They are life's losers. C and D players in a very bad B life. But in this film, these sad, funny fat characters get one last chance to make something of themselves. To tell their stories as they journey to the scenic Nashville, Memphis and Las Vegas. Their journey is the archtypal journey into the belly of the American beast of success, money and power. These men may be ordinary men. But their quest is universal. This funny film was heart-warming, lovely, sad and genuine. What a huge and wonderful surprise!

I Loved Worst Tv Show Ever
cathygold9 November 2020
What an amazing surprise! This strange and funny movie lifted my spiritis. I loved the Boss Hogg character. Hogg is cross between Colonel Sanders and Jabba the Hut. He is large with very big appetites, mostly relating to eating gut busting burgers. There is a sweet and soft side to this very sympapthetic character. He loves the bright lights and the applause and the adoration of young beautiful women. But he is a married man and that is lovely in itself. My other favorite character in a minor but significant role, was Mitch Wolfe; the producer who lit a fuse to this whole show by giving money to Hogg, Latin drug lord wannabe Rinaldo and Johnny Korean Buns Kim. Wolfe stole every scene he was in. He almost chewed up the scenery. He was a serious/funny narrative force in a show more farce than fatuous; though there was a lot of chewing the fat by the starring fat trio. Two fat thumbs up to this unusual sad/funny show.

The Best Worst Tv Show Ever
janegluck9 November 2020
This very funny movie about middle age angst is worth a view or two. The producer Mitch in real life of this film who is playing himself as a producer in this crazy movie within an alleged failed tv show is simply brilliant as an amoral, immoral, smooth-talking self-absorbed film executive, the archtypal Hollywood film maker/hustler. Wolfe sets the table by enticing and encouraging three talentless rubes to take his money and go off and film their individual stories. Which they do in this very naturalistic, improvisational flick. A better title may be, "Three Confused Non-Actors in Search of the Meaning of Life." That title is too tendatious, but it captures the sad humour of three lost men launching on a true to life cinematic journey in search of themselves, the meaning of life and a happy ending at a Nevada Chicken Ranch. In this pivotal scene, sweet Korean Johnny comes to grips with himself and his destiny in one of the funniest and sweetest anti-climatic climatic scenes. This scene alone is worth the price of admissiion to this deceptively real and entertaining flick.

Director Rick Smiciklas Scores with Worst Tv Show Ever
mitchwolfe9 November 2020
This naturalistic film within a failed tv show, was perhaps Rick Smiciklas' hardest shoot. And perhaps his greatest cinematic achievement. This movie was shot over many weeks in a variety of locations from Toronto, Canada, to Nashville, Memphis, Nevada and Las Vegas. The cast largely consisted of unknown non-actors playing actors playing non-actors trying to play themselves with varied degrees of success. The movie was mostly unscripted and improvised which made the task of squeezing some intelligent and authentic dialogue out of inarticulate buffoons a herculean task. Clearly Director Smiciklas was up to this monumental task. The film is brilliantly shot. The music was bang on. The no name talentless actors Boss Hogg, Rinaldo and Johnny Kim, came alive under Smiciklas' brilliant direction. Somehow an understandable story was crafted about a film producer, (Mitch Wolfe) throwing caution to the wind and clearly good money after bad by Wolfe giving over hundreds of thousands of dollars to these three bumbling dudes to create, film and produce their own stories while on the road to who knows what.

Against all odds and reason, this movie works on several levels. It is entertaining and funny. But on a deeper more profound level, Smiciklas was able to lay bare beneath the surface stupidity and superficiality, the humanity of these buffoons and mankind itself. Below the blubber and bluster, there are not hearts of darkness, but sympathetic and pathetic beating hearts of light and hope. Three Thumbs up to the brilliant director Rick Smiciklas!

Worst Tv Show Ever is So Bad, It's Good
crossmanj-282529 November 2020
This clearly unscripted movie performed by reluctant non-actors, playing themselves had movie bomb written all over it. But somehow this movie works. It is funny and entertaining, despite itself. Perhaps deep down, we see these flawed, fat characters as ourselves. We laugh and cry on the inside as Boss Hogg, Rinaldo and Johnny drink, swear, eat, fight and travel through the neon lit cities of Nashville, Memphis and Las Vegas looking for meaning to their meaningless little lives. Their performances are memorable in their crudeness and boorishness. Director Smiciklas and writer Cerritos, through these three hopeless knaves not knights, expose with wit and natural humour the hollowing out of the middle class American Dream during the Trump era.

Worst Tv Show Ever is a Triumph
stanlevy-460049 November 2020
Kudos to director Rick Smiciklas and writer Steve Cerritos. They have taken misshapen lumps of clay in the forms of the three lovable loser/stars Rinaldo, Boss Hogg and Johnny Kim and they have sculpted a brilliant piece of film making. This movie is funny, smart, thoughtful and strangely touching. Kudos also to the Mitch Wolfe character, listed as both the producer of this epic movie and one of its stars. Wolfe weaves and narrates this story together and gives it form and substance with his brilliantly improvised asides. We would love to see more cerebral humour from the Wolfe character in the future.

This May Be The Best Worst Tv Show Ever!
pomerantzjune9 November 2020
Written by the brilliant Steve Cerritos and directed by the rising director and wunderkind Rick Smiciklas, the movie, The Worst Tv Show Ever, is a probing and humorous look at the battered male middle class psyche. Three average-looking overweight men; Lars Larsson, Rinaldo Jara and Johnny Kim, each with different backgrounds, were chosen to star in this very funny and offbeat tragicomedy. Under the direction of Smiciklas, this seemingly simple story of three fat simpletons; fumbling, bumbling and lurching around the south and the southwest of America is both a simple and complex tale. It is a searingly sobering look at the downward spiral of American society as seen through the eyes of these three clueless American men. These three Willy Loman types, trying to sell themselves as film makers on just a hope, smile and Korean steamed bun. Their comic tragedy is America's tragicomedy. Their fate is our fate. Be prepared to laugh and cry for America and the American Dream that has turned into the American Nightmare.

Biagra and Begas- Worst Tv Show Ever- Rocks
frankhorwath9 November 2020
Worst Tv Show Ever is a sequel to the brilliantly funny, "The Executive", currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video in the US, with its companion piece, "WingMan". In both Executive and WingMan, we are introduced to the Mitch Wolfe character, a delusional, self-absorbed, film and tv producer, with big dreams and an ego to match. In Worst Tv Show Ever, the Wolfe character take a backseat to his "stars", Boss Hogg, Rinaldo and Johnny Kim. Wolfe gives these characters hundreds of thousands of dollars to make a movie with predictable hysterical results. This movie, within a movie, with another movie within an apparent failed tv series, is worth watching because not only is this creative effort funny, it speaks to the goals and aspirations of all of average men and women trying to follow their dreams.

Worst Tv Show Ever is a Gem!
johnolaski9 November 2020
I laughed. I cried. I laughed some more to the hysterical antics of the three stars, Boss Hogg, Rinaldo and Johnny. Three losers. Three great characters. But I also loved the antics of the minor characters, Robin Black and the southern Jason the producer. Best of all, the actual producer of this movie, playing himself as a flawed producer, Mitch Wolfe, made me laugh until I was crying. The film captures the vibrancy of the Nashville and Memphis nightlife. And the superficial sleaziness of Vegas. The Red Rock in Nevada was an eye-popping revelation. Take a trip across America with these crazy dudes. It is a trip worth taking.

Worst Tv Show Ever is Sexist but Sweet
jillabeshouse9 November 2020
I would not normally be caught dead watching a movie about three overweight middle-aged Americans wandering through the southern and American heartland. But my husband, a good ole boy from the Deep South forced me to watch this movie within an apparent failed tv show with him. My initial reluctance turned to modest interest. By the conclusion of this movie, I saw what my redneck husband loved about this movie. This movie spoke to him. It was about stepping out of your comfort zone and risking it all to follow one's dreams. In case of these three dudes, the means was the end in itself. Their journey together was the ends in itself. The movie was about male bonding and companionship. The search for friendship, not fame or fortune or even the good life. This movie was not for me. But I can see the funny and entertaining movie could speak to million of American men, caught in a life not of their own choosing.

Worst Tv Show Ever Knocks It Out of the Park
fredchin-2145710 November 2020
As an Asian American, I rarely see movies where one of the lead characters is a lovable flawed, funny Asian dude. I loved the Johnny Kim character, who I understand to be in real life, Korean-American. I could identify with Johnny's sweet nature, which clearly masks a man with many unresolved issues. No one can be that kind and sweet. Johnny was part of a trio of chunky, overweight men who try to create a movie career for themselves by filming themselves doing funny stuff in Nashville, Memphis and Las Vegas. Johnny was joined by Boss Hogg, a white-suited rotund fellow and Rinaldo, an Hispanic-American. They fight. They drink. They bash each other . It is all good fun. But Johnny with his sweet winning smile was my favorite. I hope Johnny does more films. The camera loves this funny Asian dude.

I Can't Wait for the Sequel to Worst Tv Show Ever
carolonley10 November 2020
I note that the producer of this very funny movie is Mitch Wolfe, who also has a small but pivotal role in Worst Tv Show Ever. This movie is part of the WingMen galaxy of episodic tv series and movies and documentaries, all depicting the lives and loves of a group of flawed middle aged men, trying to live their lives authentically and naturally. It is a brand and its own genre. Let us call it, "Middle Aged Crazy". The style is fast, funny, improvisational. WingMen production team is lean, mean and very cost effective. They shoot fat and slim and quick. Storylines are flexible and changeable. Characters come in and out. Say and do crazy stuff. Like life itself. All the characters in Worst Tv Show are professional non-actors. Especially the Mitch Wolfe character who apparently plays himself in every tv series, movie or documentary in which he appears. The Worst Tv Show together with WingMen, The Executive, WingMan and Croatia With Love, may be the best entertainment going in Hollywood today. Middle Aged Crazy aint so crazy.

Mitch Wolfe- Best Actor in Worst Tv Show Ever
valancefrankie10 November 2020
I am a big fan of the producer/writer/actor Mitch Wolfe. I have seen all his work. Wolfe starred in season two of WingMen. He reprised his role as a flawed, self-absorbed, delusionally ambitious film/tv producer in The Executive, WingMan and Croatia With Love. Wolfe has a certain natural quality about him. Harvard-educated, trained as a lawyer, Wolfe is very articulate, verbose and he is quick and smart on his feet. Which is crucial for this genre of film making. Quick, natural, authentic, unscripted and improvisational. The great thing about Wolfe is that he is always in character and plays the Mitch Wolfe with an unerring truth. Truth is often funnier than fiction. There is nothing funnier than Wolfe being himself and failing at love, life, film making, but never giving up. I would have loved to see more of Wolfe in Worst Tv Show Ever, but such is life. One cannot get one what one wants and needs. In life and clearly in films and entertainment. Still this movie is worth watching. Wolfe is great. The scenes of Memphis and Nashville are amazing. The music is inspired. And the three main characters bumbling through life and the film are amusing as well.

Worst Tv Show Ever Has the Best Photography
bettinanot10 November 2020
Filmed on location in Memphis, Nashville and Las Vegas, this low budget indie movie has surprisingly great photography. I loved the way the producers and directors captured the vibrancy of Memphis and Nashville both during the day and at night. For me the shots of these beautiful southern cities were the show. The characters, Boss Hogg, Rinaldo and Johnny, though modestly amusing, were backdrops to these amazing southern cities with their colors and their music and their people. This movie was beautifully photographed and the music and sound editing were techinically top rate. This movie was a joy to experience.

Boss Hogg Eats His Way To Fame and Misfortune in Worst Tv Show Ever
mweep10 November 2020
I am a big Boss Hogg fan. I loved him in WingMen, season one and two, a brilliant tv series, now streaming on Amazon Prime in the US. Boss Hogg is the nom de plume for Lars Larsson, an overweight angry and pathetic Everyman. But once Lars puts on his Boss Hogg white suit with matching white cowboy hat, he is instantly transformed to a bigger than life very self-confident character. Boss Hogg steals the show in Worst Tv Show Ever. He is tasked with filming a film within a film with a raging drunk, Rinaldo in Memphis and Nashville. Boss Hogg is the comedic centre of this film as he tries to put Rinaldo on the straight and narrow without much success. There are some terrific scenes of Boss Hogg falling in love and showing his softer, warmer funnier side. I would have preferred seeing more warmer Hogg than angry Hogg and inebriated Rinaldo. But each to his own favorite character.

If this the Worst Tv Show Ever, I Want a Sequel
fredsmith-6918610 November 2020
This movie directed by the comedic genius, Rick Smiciklas, sparkles with wit, humour and above all pathos. It is pure entertainment. Three fat jerks in search of a film career in the deep south and in Las Vegas. What could go wrong? I laughed and laughed and laughed so much. I did not want this movie to end. Sign me up for its sequel. This movie rocks. Red Rocks.

You Need More Faith in Worst Tv Show Ever
joancollinsky10 November 2020
I get it. This show as all the shows in this incredible genre of Middle Age crazy men revolve around average dudes acting as themselves which is mostly badly and very comically. I am a big fan of the director Rick Smiciklas and Mitch Wolfe the producer, the comedic geniuses behind WingMen, the tv series, and the spinoff films, The Executive, WingMan, Croatia With Love and now Worst Tv Show Ever. But what I liked about WingMen, the tv series and The Executive were the strong female characters who contrasted with these overweight lovable losers. In WingMen, the tv series, there the three sisters, Bianca, Rebecca and Joanne. In The Executive, Joanne and Sabrina rocked. In Worst Tv Show Ever, we only caught a minor glimpse of the tough and beautiful Sabrina, seen predominantly in season 1 of WingMen. Faith stole the scene with Boss Hogg and Rinaldo at the Red Rock in Vegas. She is a beautiful actress. Strong, independent and very sexy. If there is a sequel to this movie, Let us have more Faith or bring back Joanne. They make the men funnier and smarter. Life life itself.

Rick Smiciklas Directed Comedy- A Comedic Buffet of Delights
iversondanny10 November 2020
Move over Judd Apatow, the next best thing in comedy is Rick Smiciklas and his peculiar hysterical brand of comedy. Rick is a relative unknown young comedic director. He has been toiling in obscurity for years until these past few years he burst on the entertainment scene by producing, directing and starring in a series of brilliantly funny entertainment. All are currently streaming on Amazon Prime in the U.S. Check out WingMen, the tv series and the movies The Executive, WingMan, Croatia with Love and the most recent in this genre, Worst Tv Show. All these great productions spring from the mind of Rick Smiciklas and his brilliant production/directing/acting team which includes Mitch Wolfe and Steve Cerritos. Their humour is very real, natural and hits home, both tickling the funny bone, but also hitting much deeper. In a Smiciklas-directed film, you see the calm within the chaos and the sorrow within the laughter.

Worst Tv Show Ever Shows Nashville and Memphis At Their Best
davidlaw-9234312 November 2020
If you love the southern cities of Nashville and Memphis, you will love this quirkly film within a film within a failed tv show. Imagine three fat lovable losers were given hundreds of thousands of dollars to shoot their stories by taking a journey to Memphis and Nashville. Stir and let simmer and boil over with laughs, great music, beautiful women and lots of food.

Don't be misled by the crazy title. This is a very funny movie within a silly movie title. Directed by the peerless Rick Smiciklas, this movie is a laugh a minute. Three fat fools are launched into an adventure in film making that is simply hysterical. I love the Boss Hogg, Rinaldo and Johnny Kim characters. I hope there is a sequel to this sequel.
