- Slisse is building a new home, but systematically disagrees with the modernist plans his wife concocts with the architect Cocufier, grumbling Cesar rather takes her side then his. Next he gives the game away about their old home's defects until electrician Fernand and his wife reconsider whether it's quite what they want to rent.—KGF Vissers
- The second set of four episodes segues straight from the first four, and focuses on two main story-lines. Based on the play "Slisse Builds", the first storyline is the one with all possible problems and discussions Slisse has with the architect Coqufier (a play on the name of the famous Belgian architect Le Corbusier, who was also from Antwerp) and the builder (whose name we never learn). These collisions vary from the fact that Slisse absolutely demands a fireplace in the new house, even though there will be central heating. The fact that all four walls in his living room will have different colours nearly drives him insane, and with his honesty he drives away every potential tenant for the old house. Episodes 7 and 8, set in the new, and modern, house, sees him locked up on the first floor, because all the floor boards have swollen, and not a single door can be opened anymore. We see the stairs that lead nowhere, because of a calculation error of Coqufier, and Slisse struggles with the ringtone of his home phone and the doorbell, which sounds exactly the same. The second storyline has Tineke pregnant. She and Joe are frightened by the prospect of having to tell their mothers, but are positively petrified by the thought of Slisse's reaction. They ask Cesar to convey the "good news", which he does in his own inimitable style. When both future grandma's have recovered from the shock, they face the problem of telling the short-fused Slisse. It will take Melanie all her courage to finally face Slisse some five weeks before the wedding. It is Cesar, however, who drops the ball. Firmly convinced that Slisse already knows about the "accident", he shows him the crib he's making for the happy couple. Slisse quickly puts 2 and 2 together, and explodes. But Slisse wouldn't be Slisse, if he wouldn't surprise everyone with his reaction. It's not exactly the way he would have liked things to go, but his love for his daughter overrides everything and he gives her, and Joe, his blessing.—Damien Dantes
