What has happened to Kay Mellor? Her previous three series of the Syndicate were very watchable, combining grittiness with humour. This series so far is so mundane and silly. None of the characters grab your attention or are particularly interesting, even with the likeable Neil Morrissey on board. I'm sure though he had a wonderful time filming in a country as stunning as Monaco! You can even see how this is going to pan out with four episodes still to air. I'm not wasting another 4 hours of my life watching this hugely disappointing series. It should have ended on a high with series three.

The fourth series of The Syndicate has all the hallmarks of these warm hearted northern dramas from the 1990s.
Only that the 1990s were three decades ago and television drama has moved on.
I just found the second episode to be shallow and the characters two dimensional.
At least the main characters all ended up in Monaco and seemed to have caught up with Frank.
I like to think that there would be more of the caper element for the rest of the series. There was a shifty guy following Frank about.
