The early seasons of this show were really quite good. This season started ok, quickly became silly and is now really poor. It seems to have been aimed at the very young, but just to make sure it doesn't work for them either it adds adult themes and language. It's not warm or funny. It's shallow and pretty stupid. Avoid.

Did Kay Mellor really write this???

What's happened? This was such a top quality series, with deep, believable story lines, and great characters that you could empathise with and care about.
This just feels like a second rate, childish TV show, and I really don't care how it pans out. So sad to see something so good end up so bad.
I'm surprised Neil Morrissey and Gaynor Faye wanted to be part of it. Such a shame...

So two goons forcibly take you from a casino, show you no ID. Then drive you off to a yacht and you spill the plot to a stranger.
That is the level of writing by Kay Mellor. So far it seems Monaco has no police force.
Then again when the story shifts to Britain, it has all sorts of coincidences.
Maybe Mellor was thinking about young people muddling through abroad for the first time in their lives.
This must be based on an assumption that northerners have never travelled abroad.
