Poverty drafted
cungy-7183518 November 2022
Interesting and intriguing choice of the phrase "poverty drafted".

What does that mean or insinuate?

I was 97echo, with the 199th Light infantry brigade, and prior to military intelligence training I was given six months to learn a language. In fact every one in my military intelligence unit had to learn a language.

It was an opportunity not afforded any old soldier to go to language school and then a military intelligence school where my particular specialty was a prisoner of war interrogator, POW specialist.

And I was drafted, that is, I was forced by the US government to do military duty.

All males in the USA were subjected to that law.

I was poor but didn't called myself poor or have that chip on my shoulder.
