Investigative journalism from Cheyenne, WY
SirDipjol12 December 2020
Stories from places like Cheyenne hardly seen in the mainstream news media. Investigative journalist Fred Sassy brings you the in depth analysis of some of the big news around Cheyenne and US politics. The show is sponsored by the Dialysis King of Cheyenne. This show opened my eyes and made understand more clearly on what's real and what's fake around me.

A bit sad to see them go down this road Warning: Spoilers
"Sassy Justice" is a live action comedy short film from late October 2020, so this is a bit over a year old now and this was released about a week before the most recent American election. Definitely not a coincidence with all the Donald Trump references and inclusions in here. But what needs to be said first is that this was directed by Trey Parker and written by him as well together with Matt Stone and I hope you know that this is the duo mostly known for the really long-running animated television show South Park. I am a big fan of this. By their release here sadly not so much. They added prolific and successful actor Peter Serafinowicz here to add further prestige and he was maybe still one of the better parts. I mean you can watch this in a quarter of an hour if you care, but I don't think you really should. Maybe it was a disadvantage in my case that I like Tom Cruise, but actually with his parts I was still alright because they were not really disrespectful. But no matter what Trump may have done in terms of disabled, it is not a justification to depict him having a stroke on live television. It also does not feel as playful the way it does when stuff like that is on South Park. Which it has been and which I did not find that offensive, but with real actors it's something different. You have the right to disagree of course. Besides, it's not cool to see Stone and parker now basically join in with the mainstream approach to news and comedy coverage. I know they are better and more objective than that. They have proved it many times on South Park.

On a more positive note, I must say that I thought it was not bad at all how they actually made people look like other people here and there. Not talking about the Trump impersonation there, but rather Sassy's face when interviewing people. Like the funniest moment was perhaps when, right after this clip with Tom Cruise, they stare in disbelief and the interviewer actually thinks it was Tom Cruise. Unfortunately these moments weren't too often enough. Otherwise, I might have given a positive recommendation here. And Mark Zuckerberg in a turkey suit, well you can do it, but it really only works for a few seconds indeed. This is where Parker and Stone came into play. The other as Al Gore, but these segments were much shorter and much more harmless than those involving Trump. Even if I did not like the outcome here, I still think it's nice to see these two still be so close to each other professionally after more than 25 years now. This was seen by several millions on Youtube by the way, but still it cannot really be considered a success. I guess with the gigantic amount of money they put in, making 2500 bucks or a little more is not considered a success. I am sure they expected at least 20 millions to watch this. Not gonna get there. Yeah, overall it's a thumbs-down from me here too and I would not be too sad at all if there will be no sequel. The ending is a joke anyway and this, also with the running time, does not look like something to be turned into a regular television or streaming show at some point. I hope that, when the day comes on which South Park is over, Stone and Parker find a new interesting project, but this one here is definitely not it. Maybe better focus on animation again, even if I have to give them props for actually making me think Michael Caine was a part of this.
