- Bosch and Edgar track down La Mayorista, but Bosch asks Vega to assist after Edgar makes a costly error. Chandler and Maddie record Franzen’s statement for the SEC before Chandler stashes him away in a safehouse. Irving and Lopez discuss the arson case, each concealing their true agendas.

J.Edgar finishes an early morning sunrise run in his neighborhood. At Hollywood Station holding cell the other prisoner asks Alvarez who ordered the firebombing, the young gang members stops talking. Outside Bosch, Edgar and Collins watch on hidden video feed, the other prisoner comes out, he is an undercover cop. The good news is they know where La Mayorista is.
Leaving her condo, the gang leader is surrounded by cops with a warrant. They find a gun in her purse, she says it is legal. Inside, Harry tells Jerry to keep an eye on her as they search the condo. Harry leads the way and rifles through her underwear drawers finding a chrome plated .45. Back out in the hallway Harry is upset to see Jerry texting while La Mayorista talks in Spanish to another resident. She denies owning the gun. In the car Harry fumes at J.Edgar for not keeping the gang leader isolated. Harry takes Vega in for the interview, telling Jerry to sit it out. Harry shows a picture of Alvarez but she denies knowing him, also denies selling drugs and owning the condo. A lawyer appears, the interview is over but Harry says they will hold her for 48 hrs. Vega gives Mayorista a business card .
Chandler takes her client Frantzen to a safe house, taking his cell phone and telling him to lay low, even the police or Feds may try to arrest him again on new charges. He's not happy with the modest house.
Back in the squad-room Harry loudly calls out Jerry for allowing Mayorista to get her lawyer so fast. Everyone else stops as the two raise their voices. Captain Cooper steps out to see what's going on, Harry cools down, the two men smoulder in silence at their workstations.
Irving meets with Mayor Lopez for an update on the apartment case, she promises her support, during some small talk he acts surprised one of the commissioners will be stepping down.
Billets shows Sgt Mankiewicz the graffiti on her car, he admits it looks like a cop did it by the white shoe polish and capital letters, a cop marking SOP learned at the Academy. He will look into it from his end.
Chandler meets the local head of the SEC to discuss Frantzen's offer to name a billionaire on insider trading. He is interested and agrees in principle to help Frantzen with the US District Attorney.
While in his office Irving gets a text to watch TV, he clicks it on to see Mayor Lopez calling him out publicly to hurry and find Sonia and the Hernandez family killers, changes are needed.
La Mayorista glares at Bosch as she taken away in cuffs to the Van Nuys jail, he smirks in return. Inside, Det. Rondell Pierce asks Billets about the upcoming reorg, with only three detectives going to the elite Robery Homicide Division and Bosch and Edgar are obvious, what are his chances? Billets says she will give him a good recommendation but it's up to West Division to choose.
Lt Thorne, the head of the patrol cops section, comes to see Billets, furious she has filed an IA complaint against his men. She points out her complaint did not name any particular officers.
Chief Irving searches his files and decides to call a Sgt Browne for a favour.
Chandler explains to Maddie she needs her help in prepping Frantzen for his SEC deposition, they will video a practice so he can refine his delivery and messaging.
Jerry tries to see his boys again but LaTonya says they went to the movie without him, not sure if he was coming. Jerry leaves frustrated.
Harry has a nice dinner at home with Maddie and her boyfriend xx.
Irving holds his tiny preemie son in his hands at the hospital.
Harry and Jerry drive in silence, Harry in a suit and tie.
Chandler and Frantzen finish their deposition rehearsal video, Maddie is told to make a copy of the video and deliver to Frantzen later.
Harry and Jerry arrive at a funeral for the Rodriguez family. Mickey Peña has paid the costs and stands with the attendees. Harry decides to approach Peña, warning him he knows Peña ordered the firebombing. The gang leader seems nonplussed.
Billets notices her special tea is empty in the station lunchroom fridge. Det Vega commiserates then asks about the three West Division transfers. Billets gives the same answer as to Pierce earlier, also stressing that what happened between them last fall is irrelevant now.
Collins, Bosch and Edgar have lunch and discuss Mayorista and Alvarez, hoping one will crack. Jerry excuses himself.
Capt Cooper calls Billets into his office, he is also upset she filed a complaint without telling him and bypassing chain of command. She assures him she didn't mean to make him look bad.
Mayor Lopez comes out to her ride to find a new driver, Sgt. Cletus Brown, her regular needed time off.
Two women uniform cops come to Billets, they would like a private talk.
Jerry sees his psychologist, he lies and says his life is normal and is ready to return to normal, the Dr. seems to check off all the boxes.
The cops tell Billets about an incident, they had a call, a possible 415 with gangbangers and they called for backup. The other patrol car never arrived, the two male officers Leonard and Norris were the ones making comments at roll call the other day. They reported to Lt Thorne but nothing happened.
La Mayorista is processed into jail, another inmate makes a threatening comment.
Harry drives by the fire bombed apartment and stops to reflect at a makeshift memorial.
An attractive young woman with an overnight bag takes an Uber to Frantzen's safe house, he greets her warmly, a girlfriend.
La Moyorista is nervous in jail and tries to call Det Vega, but only leaves a message she wants to talk.
Frantzen and the girl joke around on his sofa in their underwear, Maddie arrives to drop off the USB video and a laptop. Someone in a car watches her leave.
La Mayorista lies dead with her throat slit. Harry Bosch is stunned as he wakes to take the phone call report.
