Both lead actresses Scarlett Futch and Celeste Marcone had no previous martial arts experience and had to be trained for four months by the film's fight choreographer and co-star Patrick C. Greene. Other co-stars were added that had martial arts experience were Robyn Shute and Josh Page.
The film's writer Kemper Sease is a member of the NC Screenwriter's group. Lovinder Gill, a founding member of the group, is also an Associate Producer on "VS". Another member, Rod Shephard (Bestram Prod.) was the film's 1st AD.
The entire film was shot at various "live" locations. No studio was used.
Inspired by a series of personal incidents involving the film's screen writer, Kemper Sease, in the early 1990's along with his affinity for martial arts films of the 1970's. He says the script was his way of shaking off the boogie man.
There are two versions of the film that exist. One version provides the "jungle" sequence as a flashback and one version shows the same scene at the beginning of the movie.
