Welcome to The Lightning Hour. Our hosts Rico E Anderson, Rachelle Henry and Sasha Kerbel go to the dark side and have a delightful chat with the team behind the award-winning film MY SUMMER AS A GOTH. Co-writer/Director Tara Johnson-Medinger divulges that she and her high school best friend, Brandon Lee Roberts, co-wrote My Summer as a Goth loosely based on their own teen goth adventures and shared that it took approximately twelve years from the first draft to currently having it streaming on DirecTV and other streaming channels across the world. Tara explains why the movie was filmed over the course of two summers and how the MeToo movement caused a few changes in the story. The leading cast, including Natalie Shershow (Joey), Eduardo Reyes (Antonio), Jenny White (Pen), Carter Allen (Cob) and The Lightning Hour's own Rachelle Henry who plays Joey's BFF (Molly) engage us with stories about how they had to bring realistic chemistry to their onscreen relationships and some of the funniest moments each actor had on set.
