This piece mostly is about Life imitating Art . . .

Warning: Spoilers
. . . as a bunch of Chicago "Society Ladies" who could pass for ALL ABOUT EVE cocktail scene extras take it upon themselves to create a Real Life version of the "Sarah Siddons Award," the presentation of which begins and ends ALL ABOUT EVE as a Mockumentary-style THIS IS SPINAL TAP-type spoof of Hollywood's annual Oscar awards. Apparently, these Windy City Bags and Bitties did not "get" the joke, leaving themselves open for perpetual lampooning as they manage to drag in some of Tinseltown's dimmer luminaries (including Carrie Snodgrass, Lily Tomlin, Lynn Redgrave, and Julie "See My Tatas in S.O.B." Andrews) as parties to their fatuous farce. As might be suspected, a wide sadistic streak runs among these morbid Chicago mavens, as illustrated here by their account of tricking Bette Davis into sharing the Awards Podium with her "Eve" nemesis from the feature film, Anne Baxter. With "friends" like this, who needs chainsaw-toting enemies?
