At Keyhouse, a hired housekeeper, Candice Whdeon, is cleaning up. She sees a young girl inside, sitting on a couch, and tells her that she can't be there. The girl, a young Erin Voss, ignores Candice and stares off into space. Candice notices a door standing by itself in the room and goes over to examine it. She goes over to Erin and tells her to wake up, but Erin still doesn't respond, but the Head Key drops out of Erin's neck when Candice shakes her. The door disappears and Candice goes over and calls 911, asking for help.
The Present
Kinsey drives Erin to Keyhouse and takes her inside. Erin has her luggage, where Tyler and Nina are waiting. Erin says that the house is exactly the same as when she was a teenager, and Erin thanks the family for letting her stay there until her trust fund comes through. Tyler is eager to find out how Erin remembers the Keys when she became an adult, and Kinsey tells her brother to take it easy and let Erin process. Bode runs in and introduces himself to Erin.
Kinsey and Nina take Erin up to her new room, and Duncan comes up. Erin sees and recognizes Duncan, calling to him by name. He doesn't recognize her from their younger days, and Erin is surprised to see that he's "aged" because of the years she's lost. Duncan excuses himself and goes to take a shower, and Nina tells Erin that she and Bode are heading out, but Kinsey and Tyler will be there. Once Nina leaves, Erin tells Kinsey that she needs Kinsey to give her all of the keys.
In Tyler's room, Erin tells Tyler and Kinsey that she should have gotten rid of the all the keys after all of her friends died. Tyler tells her that they're being careful and know how to use the Keys, and Erin says that the Keepers thought that but they didn't, and the Keys' power is seductive. Kinsey tells Erin that they're Lockes and the Keys belong to them, and they get to decide what to do with them. Erin warns the siblings that they're not going to survive, and leaves. Tyler and Kinsey agree that they're not going to give Erin the Keys,
Bode goes to the kitchen to get something to eat, and hears a Key whispering to him. He follows the whispering to a desk in the study, and finds the Small World Key in an old telescope. He finds a keyhole to put it in and does so, but Nina calls to him to go to the Barnetts for a play date before he can go through the panel the Key opens.
At the Barnett house, Nina tells Josh why they're letting Erin stay with them. Josh tells Nina that she can feel weird about it. Bode and Jamie are playing Monopoly in Jamie's room, and a spider crawls across the board. Nina and Josh hear them, and Nina suggests they have a play date where the kids stay home. Josh agrees.
Bode shows Jamie the Key he found, and Jamie takes her to Josh's dollhouse of Keyhouse. The door has the same initials as the Key, and Jamie explains that her father collects old stuff connected to Matheson. Bode uses the Key on the dollhouse's door, and the windows light up. Jamie takes the roof off the dollhouse, and they see Tyler inside the dollhouse's copy of Tyler's room. Tyler can't hear Bode when Bode calls to him, and Bode breaks his own bed when he takes the miniature version of it out of his room. He puts it back when Nina calls him down, and the two children put the roof back on and Bode tries to recover the Key but fails just as Josh comes in. Nina wonders why Josh has a dollhouse of her house, and Josh explains that he found it in an antique store and bought it cheap. Josh and Nina both agree that it's weird, He offers the house to Nina, but she declines despite Bode's objections. Nina leads Bode off before he can get the Key from the dollhouse's door, and Bode whispers to Jamie to keep the Key safe.
At the cabin, Gabe is making another Key as Eden looks on. He says that he has to remove all the impurities and tells Eden to stir, while Gabe goes to patch thing up with Kinsey. Eden points out that Gabe isn't fawning over Tyler and Bode, and wonders if Gabe has feelings for Kinsey. Gabe just glares at her and leaves.
The Squad go over ideas for the sequel, while Scot works on the script. He's distracted, and Doug figures that he's thinking about his new school in England. Gabe says that Scot will forget all about them, just to make Kinsey feel worse, and Sort jokingly says that until then he's stuck with them.
That night, Tyler is in his room when Erin wanders in. He confirms that it's Rendell's old room, and asks Erin how she and the others remember magic. Erin explains that they made a Key, but should never have done it, and she doesn't know where it is. Nina arrives home and calls Tyler to the kitchen to help her with dinner. Erin tells Tyler to forget about the Keys and leaves.
Bode goes to his room and discovers that his bed is broken, just like the one in the dollhouse. He videos Jamie and shows her his bed, and they figure that whatever happens in the dollhouse happens in real life. Bode has Jamie put something in the dollhouse. She moves the dollhouse into her room and puts a gummy bear in Bode's room. A giant gummy bear appears in Bode's real-life room.
Doug calls Gabe out to get something from his van. Gabe reluctantly leaves Kinsey and Scot alone, and Scot tells Kinsey that he hasn't written much of the sequel yet. He wonders how he'll handle film school if he can't handle the script, and Kinsey tells Scot not to overthink it and goes over the script with him. Gabe comes in and sees Kinsey working with Scot. Gabe goes back to the cabin and tells Eden that he's taking over, because Eden is going to Keyhouse, gives her the Music Box Key, and tells her that she's going to tilt the scales back in Gabe's favor.
The next morning, Erin is eating cereal in the kitchen when Duncan comes in. She figures that Duncan doesn't remember much about her, and Duncan says that his childhood id a bit of a blank to him. Erin says that she's sorry but doesn't explain why, and Duncan goes out to work on his car.
At the academy, the Squad tells Scot that the new script scenes are good. Kinsey tells Scot that he hasn't lost his mojo, and sot thanks everyone for their compliments. Gabe asks where the rest is, and Scot insists that he can do it but the others want him to give them the rest before he leaves. Gabe starts everyone arguing about who will direct and who will write. When Scot says that he's still there and still directing, Gabe asks if he wants to leave them hanging. Kinsey reluctantly suggests that they discuss backup plans, and Gabe tells Scot that he's being selfish. Scot angrily goes for Gabe, and the others stop Scot. Scot still shoves Gabe, thanks to Eden secretly using the Music Box Key on him to make him attack Gabe,. Josh comes in and takes Scot away for fighting. The other Squad members go to make sure Scot isn't "strangling" Josh, while Kinsey checks on Gabe. She wonders why Scot would attack Gabe, and suggests that someone was controlling Scot with the Music Box Key, figuring someone found it. Gabe admits that it's possible, and Kinsey steps into the hallway and calls Duncan, and asks him to check in her room and see if the music box is still there.
Gabe finds Eden and tells her to get the music box and its Key back to Keyhouse immediately. She goes to Kinsey's room and puts the box and Key back, and then hides under the bed as Duncan comes in. He tells Kelsey that the music box is there, and Gabe finds Kelsey. Duncan takes the Key with him, and Eden confirms that it's gone after Duncan leaves. Kinsey confirms to Gabe that the Key is there, and says Scot was selfish and has no one to blame but him. Gabe suggests they talk and Kelsey agrees.
Eden tries to sneak out and sees Erin go by. When Eden tries to go out a door but finds it locked, she goes out a window, falling as she goes.
Josh takes Nina to a bowling alley and he talks about how some of his ancestors lived in Matheson. He talks about his dead wife Nicole, and how she died in a car crash. They talk about their dead spouses, and then Nina tells Josh to show her what he's got. Once they're done and leaves, Josh points out that Nina beat him by 54 points. They go to their cars, and Josh kisses Nina good night. She kisses him back.
The spider from earlier crawls in an open window of the dollhouse. Meanwhile, Duncan is making dinner, and Bode texts him to ask when dinner is.
Eden returns to the cabin and tells Gabe that she had to walk from Keyhouse to the cabin, and tells Gabe that Duncan has the Key. Gabe isn't happy, then says that it doesn't matter because soon they'll have the only Key that they need.
Bode is in his room eating a piece of the giant gummy bear and watching a movie on his phone. Duncan texts him to come down to dinner, and Bode tries to open his door but finds it jammed and assumes Tyler did it. He uses the Hercules Key and Bolt to open it, and discovers that it was webbed shut. Bode goes to Tyler's room, gets his brother to come out, and shows him the webs throughout the hallway. The spider comes at them and they run, closing a door behind them. They keep running, and the spider breaks through the door, and they find Erin and tell her to come with them. They lock themselves in the kitchen and Erin recognizes the effects of the Small World Key. The banging stops and Duncan looks over from the stove where he's making dinner.
The spider comes in through another door, and Duncan throws a pan of hot water at it and runs. Bode shoves the spider with a table using the Hercules Key, and they all run out. They run to another room and lock the door behind them, and the spider frees itself and comes after them. Bode calls Jamie, who finally answers and he tells her to take the Key out of the dollhouse door. The spider doesn't disappear, and Erin says that the Key has to be working so Jamie can get rid of the spider. Jamie puts the Key back and then squashes the spider with a pencil, killing the giant real-life one. Bode asks Jamie to take the spider's body out, and she does so.
The group goes back to the kitchen and looks at the devastation the spider caused, and Duncan wonders how any of it was possible. Duncan forgets everything that happened relative to the Key's magic, and Erin asks him if he remembers his old dollhouse. Duncan says that he didn't have a dollhouse and that he doesn't know Erin, and angrily tells her to stop pretending like he knows him. Kinsey comes in as Erin walks off, depressed that Duncan truly doesn't know her.
Tyler and Kinsey got up to Kinsey's room, and they figure the giant rat's head that Bode found earlier was caused by the Small World Key. Erin comes in and tells them that she needs to borrow the Plant Key. Kinsey tells Erin that they lost it to Dodge, and Tyler figures that he knows what Erin is looking for. He shows her the jars filled with memories that he found a few months ago. Erin explains that they were about to turn 18 and didn't want to forget magic, and Rendell thought they could open the Black Door and make another Key. When they opened the door, one of the whispering bullets came out, hit Lucas, and a demon possessed him. Other bullets didn't hit anyone, and could be used to make more Keys.
At the cabin, Gabe cuts Eden's hand and mixes a drop of her blood into the Key he's forging. The mold with the whispering lead explodes, knocking them both out of the cabin. Gabe's face turns demonic and he snarls.
Erin says that Rendell couldn't make the magic work, and Duncan made the Key. Afterwards the Keepers took away all of Duncan's memories of magic,, and she can't live knowing she did that to Duncan. Kinsey suggests that maybe she and Tyler should do it. The siblings take the jars into Duncan's room and ask him to trust them, have him sit down, and put the Head Key in his head. A door appears, and Tyler goes through it and puts the jar with Duncan's memories back into his mind.
