Eva Longoria is back in front of the cameras, following a busy award season supporting her feature film directorial debut Flamin’ Hot. Longoria has been cast in Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building Season 4 in a recurring role.
Details regarding the new season’s plot and character descriptions remain under wraps. However, we do know the new episodes will focus on unraveling the murder of Sazz Pataki (Jane Lynch), Charles-Haden Savage’s (Steve Martin) mind-bogglingly identical stunt double from his years on the series Brazzos and its 2020 revival.
Disney Television Group President Craig Erwich revealed in a recent Deadline interview that the Only Murders In the Building trio: Charles, Oliver (Martin Short) and Mabel (Selena Gomez), will kick off the new season with a trip to Los Angeles before returning to The Arconia in their search of Sazz’s killer.

Netflix has ordered “A Part of You,” a Swedish coming-of-age drama penned by Michaela Hamilton.
Produced by Sf Studios, the film will mark the directorial feature debut of Sigge Eklund, an acclaimed author and podcast host in Sweden. “A Part of You” will start production in Sweden later this summer and release globally on Netflix in 2024.
“A Part of You” portrays the experience of a 17 year old girl, Agnes, whose older sister Julia possesses everything that Agnes dreams of: She’s the most popular girl at school and has a boyfriend. When the worst possible thing occurs, Agnes’ world is turned upside down and she’s forced to reinvent herself.
”I’ve been waiting my whole life for a screenplay that captures the horror and the magic of being a teenager,” said Eklund. “When I read Michaela Hamilton’s story I was blown away by the fact that it was all in there.

Banijay Rights has signed a package deal with Nordic Entertainment Group (Nent Group) ahead of the launch of its Viaplay streaming service in the U.S. on Dec. 15.
The deal will give Viaplay subscribers in the US access to a dozen of premium scripted titles from Banijay Rights’ hit Nordic drama titles, including Norwegian culture-clash comedy “Countrymen” which won two prizes at Canneseries last month, and “A Class Apart,” a drama series from Banijay Swedish label Jarowskij.
“A Class Appart” is set at Sweden’s top ranked boarding high school which is home to a secret society for the most affluent students, the Zebra Club. “Countrymen” sees four men with dubious plans move to a farm in the rural Norwegian countryside where, more or less against their will, they end up as the founders of Norway’s first halal cheesemaking business. With the majority of big global TV distributors opting out of a physical presence at Mipcom, the flashy stands have been replaced by snazzy digital platforms showcasing content rolling out starting this fall.
Among them are a series of virtual festivals by Banijay, which acquired Endemol Shine in summer 2020 and boasts a catalog of more than 88,000 hours of programming. Rather than join Mipcom organizer Reed Midem’s virtual Mipcom Online Plus event, the mega-indie is going its own way, as are so many other distributors.
The latest of its planned digital forays is a non-English language scripted festival designed to showcase the group’s eclectic mix of European dramas. These include six-part French show “Germinal,” a modern adaptation of Émile Zola’s classic 1985 coal-mining strike saga; Swedish boarding-school drama “A Class Apart”; and Italian coming-of-age series “My Ballerina,” a co-production with Italy’s Mediaset.

Eva Longoria has named Adriana Martínez Barrón as vice president of film at her UnbeliEVAble Entertainment production banner.
“We are very excited to welcome Adriana to the UnbeliEVAble team,” says Longoria. “Adriana is someone who champions the values of UnbeliEVAble Entertainment, and with our continued focus on elevating underrepresented voices and stories in the Latinx space, her experience in both development and production and meaningfully spotlighting new talent will serve as a huge asset to our team and ultimately the many stories that need to be told.”
In her new role, Martínez Barrón will oversee the company’s film development via their deal with ViacomCBS’ MTV Entertainment Group (Mtve), which was announced last fall as an initiative to give more people of color and women opportunities at directing made-for-television movies. As part of this new pact, Mtve pairs Longoria and other A-List producers with first-time Bipoc and women directors. She...
