- Jason attaches a bomb to Hank's heart. The Titans have less than four hours to find the detonator.
- Red Hood attaches an unremovable bomb to Hank's chest, and the Titans rally to save their teammate before it's too late. Kory and Barbara see the footage of who stole Jason's body from the morgue, and Dove has to decide who she will kill: Jason or Hank.—Gislef
- Dick is in a graveyard digging up Jason Todd's grave. He remembers fighting Red Hood earlier, and cracking open his helmet to reveal the face of Jason Todd. Opening the coffin, Dick discovers that Jason's body isn't there.
The next day at the manor, Dick tells Kory, Hank, and Dawn that Bruce saw Jason's corpse after Joker killed him. Kory suggests that if somebody is bringing people back to life, maybe they could bring Donna back. Dawn suggests that Jason faked his death, and Hank figures Jason is working with someone. Dick points out that Jason was cooking, but that they need to focus on stopping Jason rather than figuring out how he came back. As Hank leaves, he tells the others that he's taking Jason down and has no compunctions about killing him if Jason is killing others. Dick tells Kory and Dawn that they'll start at the place where Jason was cooking.
Dawn catches up to Hank in the kitchen and tells him that he has to give the others time to come to grips with Jason's return. She says that the fact it's Jason makes it complicated for everyone, and Hank tells her that they need to forget that and avoid getting soft, because then someone will get hurt. Hawk isn't impressed with the fact that Jason is like a brother to Dick, and Dawn tells Hank to dial it down a notch.
Hank asks Dawn if she's up to taking on Jason, and she tells Hank that he knows the answer to that before leaving. Jason calls Hank and says he messed up, and Hank has to help him out. Jason confirms no one is with Hank and then says that something is wrong with him and what he's doing isn't his fault. Hank tells Jason that he can help him, and promises that he won't tell Dick where Jason is if Jason tells Hank.
In the Batcave, Gar records an audio message for Bruce, figuring that Bruce is checking in occasionally rather than abandoning his only "family". Gar tells Bruce that he has to come back to Gotham, because Jason is alive and the Titans need Bruce's help. Conner comes in and asks if Gar thinks Bruce will hear the message. He says that they have to stop Jason if he's killing innocent people, and Gar points out that usually they're not hunting down one of their own.
Hank takes a taxi per Jason's instructions, and waits for Jason to contact him. Jason finally calls Hank, asks if he's alone, then directs him to the old Gotham Observatory. When Hank arrives, Jason tells him to destroy his cell so no one can track him. Hank does so, and Jason calls him on a burner phone he put on a nearby bench and left. He directs Hank to the closed-down Gotham City Gym.
When Hank gets to the abandoned gym, he goes in and Jason calls him. Jason tells Hank to strip to show that he's not wired, and Hank irritably does so. He has Hank swim to the other end of the old pool in the gym, and Hank does it so Jason will come out. At the other end, Red Hood jumps on Hank and knocks him unconscious.
Conner, Dick, and Dawn check the manor security footage and confirm that Hank left in a cab, and now his phone is off the grid. They get the cab's plate, and Hank staggers in and reveals a device implanted in his chest. Hank explains that Jason put it there. Gar and Kory come in, and Conner x-rays the device and reports that's embedded in Hank's chest. Dick confirms that the device is a bomb designed not be withdrawn, and Conner says that the barbs on the device have sensor. If the sensors detect too much force, they'll explode. Cutting the bomb out will also trigger it.
Studying the bomb, Conner says that the countdown is at 17369, and is counting Hank's heartbeats. When the bomb reaches 0, it will detonate. Jason calls Dick, and Jason tells him to have the Titans deliver $50 million in gold bars that are being delivered to Central Bank of Gotham. Jason says that if they bring him the gold, he'll disarm the bomb. Dick tells Jason that it's not going to happen, and Jason reminds Dick of how Dick doing things his way has worked out well in the past.
Dick tells the others of Jason's demand, and Hank refuses to negotiate with terrorists. Kory says that they should show no mercy, and they confirm that Hank has less than four hours before the counter reaches 0. They put Hank on a beta blocker to slow down his heart further and buy them time, and walks off.
Dawn goes after Dick and asks him he's really going to let Hank call the shots. Dick tells her that the plan is that they'll find Jason and notes that Jason torched the building where his lab was. Kory will go to GCPD to see what Barbara has. Dawn insists that they have to save Hank, not Jason, and Dick tells her that they'll do both. Dawn tells Dick that they should keep their priorities straight and goes back to the others.
Later, Hank is in his bedroom watching TV. Dawn comes in and hooks Hank up to an EKG monitor, and Hank tells her that he took his eye off the ball. She says that it wasn't Hank's fault, and his heartbeat speeds up as he angrily says that he should have had Jason. Dawn applies a carotid massage to slow Hank's heartbeat, and he jokingly accuses her of looking for an excuse to get into bed with him.
Dick goes to Arkham and confront Crane, and gives Crane a packet of marijuana to buy his cooperation. Crane takes the packet, and Dick says that his guy isn't working alone, and he needs a profile from Crane on the accomplice. Crane suggests that Jason is looking for a father figure, someone who likes a grand gesture. After Crane says that he'll think about it, he tells Dick that Jason is in a fight against his father so Jason will use the weapons of his father. Dick gets an idea and abruptly leaves.
Dick returns to the Batcave and tells Conner to search the Wayne Enterprise database for specs on the bomb. When Dick unlocks the database with a retinal scan, Conner accesses it and Gar tells them that he has a monitor hooked up to show them how much time Hank has left.
Conner finds the specs and reads them at superspeed, discovers that the bomb in Hank is the first prototype. Dick tells Conner to build a deactivator using the specs. Conner warns that building the deactivator is a lot more complex than reading the specs, and Dick tells him to do it.
At the GCPD, Kory tells Barbara about Jason, and insists that he's not a Titan anymore. Kory asks to see the morgue footage to spot whoever resurrected Jason, and makes it clear that with Hank's life at stake she's not really asking.
In the bedroom, Dawn calculates if they can give Hank more blockers. He sends the watching Krypto to heat him up some hot dogs and find some bourbon, and Dawn tells Hank that he isn't going to die. Hank jokingly says where he'll end up when he dies, and a tearful Dawn asks him to stop. She tells Hank that he's going to make it, and they kiss as Hank undresses Dawn. Hank says that he screwed everything up. Dawn agrees, redresses, and leaves.
In the Batcave, Conner builds the deactivator at superspeed. He tells a watching Gar that he has to match the bomb's electrical charge, and keeps failing at every attempt. Conner warns that there are over 1.5 million permutations.
Barbara has Vee pull up the morgue footage for Kory, and they spot a man coming from the morgue locker rooms wheeling out Jason's body. They discover that the intruder took out the camera covering that room's exit, and Kory has a brief fugue like the one she had before. They realize that intruder was off-camera for four more minutes: more than enough time to steal Jason's body.
Conner continues working.
Dawn takes Hank his favorite food, and tells Dick that he should talk to Hank. Dick tells her that he has only one reason to talk to Hank, and that's to say goodbye. Dawn tells him that the gold bar delivery is in 45 minutes, and Dick insists that they're not robbing an armored truck... because that's what Jason wants, to turn Gotham against them. Dawn asks Dick if he's willing to let a friend die to prevent that from happening.
Before Dick can answer, Kory calls and tells him about the footage. She sends Dick a photo of the man on her phone and his address, and Dick says that he's on it. Dick asks Dawn to tell Hank that he'll call him and leaves.
At the bank, the armored truck arrives with the gold bars, stops in the bank's underground garage, and armed guards get out. Dove drops down and knocks them out, then calls Jason at his designated phone number and asks what she does next. He tells her to come alone, hangs up, and tells the tied-up intruder that he has a flight to catch.
Hank thinks about his time with Dawn, and Gar comes in and jokes with Hank. Gar wonders why they came there, when it's Bruce's town, and Hank asks Gar how he's holding up. When Gar points out that Hank had retired, Hank says that what's happening to him might be a sign that he shouldn't have left his family. Hank says that he doesn't think it's time yet, and they both have a lot to do. He tells Gar to go help Conner, and Gar smiles and leaves.
Dick goes to the address, and Jason throws the intruder's body on the windshield of Dick's car. Dick checks the body's ID and discovers that it's a Cyrus Beake. Jason calls to taunt Dick and then hangs up. There's an address on the caller ID, and Dick drives there and calls Gar for an upgrade. Gar says that Conner's failure is down, and Dick then calls Hank admits that he's scared, and they talk about old times. Hank assures Dick that he's doing his best by him, and always has.
Dick tells Hank that he's going to confront Jason, and Hank tells him not to wreck it all because of him. Hank says that Dick shouldn't let Jason tear the Titans, their family, apart, and insists that he doesn't want to be the reason the Titans go down. Dick assures Hank that the Titan's aren't going down, and Hank hangs up on him.
Dove takes the gold to the address Jason gave her, and Red Hood steps out. He tells Dove that the deactivator is in a toolbox near her, and when she opens it she finds a gun. Red Hood holds up the deactivator and says that to save Hank, Dove has to kill him. Removing his mask, Jason tells Dove that he grew up and she can if she faces her fear. If Dove pulls the trigger, she'll be free.
Aiming the gun at Jason, Dove tells Jason that he brought it on himself. Nightwing disarms Dove with a shuriken, and they fight over the gun. Dove kicks Nightwing back, grabs the gun, and aims it at Jason. Nightwing says that it's what Jason wants, and tells her that she can't come back from killing someone. Checking with Gar via the comms, Nightwing confirms that Conner almost has the deactivator built and tells Dove.
Kory goes to the bedroom, and Hank tells her to get out and take Krypto with her.
Nightwing tells Dove that killing Jason won't fix anything.
Hank asks Kory to tell Dawn that he loves her. Kory nods and leaves.
Conner gets the failure rate down to 1%.
Nightwing tells Dove that Jason is lying. Jason says that Nightwing should let Dove make her own decisions.
Conner gets the deactivator to 0% failure, and superspeeds to Hank. Gar tells Nightwing, who tells Dove. She pulls the trigger, and Jason laughs and says that he gave her the bomb activator.
The bomb explodes five heartbeats early, and Conner superspeeds in just in time to see the explosion.
Jason slips away, and Dove breaks into tears as she realizes she killed Hank.
Kory runs to the Batcave and hugs Gar.
Krypto emerges from the blast, unharmed.
Gar breaks into tears.
Nightwing holds Dove.
