This episode was sixth in the BBC-only chart with 12.5 million viewers.
It was reported in the Aberdeen Press and Journal (8th March 1986) that Dave Clark was removed from the guest list of this episode:
"Pop star of the 60s, Dave Clark, was dropped from last night's "Wogan" show because a newspaper advertisement for the singer's new musical referred to the programme. A BBC spokesman said: "This is our standard policy and it is not the first time we have had to do this with someone. We can't have advertisements like this linking the show with a play." The newspaper advertisement was for Clark's musical "Time" which opens in the West End next month."

Howard Jones is given a rare chance to perform live on Wogan, singing his new track "No One Is To Blame" with just a piano, as opposed to miming. The single release reached No.16 on the UK Singles Chart.
