NCIS LA was never a show that was known for amazing writing , it was good action show with great humour and talented cast . But with that when you watched an episode or a full season you knew what was the story , what is the team looking for, what is the endgame. In the last few seasons the writing is all over the place, and it sometimes feel these are not the characters we knew. In this episode they started of with the shootout that ended last week episode , it ended with stupid montage with the newbies , where were Callen&Sam? They were close to the location of Sabatino and Kensi than the newbies? And that night wasn't the end of the case ,everyone was running away , would callen really leave that way? And it seemed that Sam knew what callen wanted do, why didn't we see the scenes with both of them? Callen&Sam Bromance was one of the things that made the show work the relationship between the characters, why didn't see them talking? I missed that feel of connection between them, it's been missing for sometime. And let's not talk about the changes in callen history in that flashback , his character history was changed few seasons back. Still it feels that are changing the core of his character .

Also Deeks, why did he got the badge now? If Hetti could have given him badge like that why didn't she gave him one before? What was that all Training story? It made deeks look weak and not able to be agent? We the viewers knew he could run fast and beat all the instructor and the Students, why show him so weak?

Where was Nell, this is the second episode that she wasn't on, isn't she the person that is supposed to replace Hetty? And guide the team what a bad manger lol , even if the actress couldn't be in they should have explain to us viewers why .

Where is Pietra, she escaped from them so they can track her movements but after the shooting they didn't care?

The good thing that worked ,were admiral Kilbride and Sabatino , even when the writing made Sabatino this episode over the top he was fun with Kensi.they should keep them full time, they work well with the team , the new characters still don't mix well.

Are we investigating counterfeit dollars or stolen defense technology? This is the worst part 2 I've seen. Out of nowhere, it became about defense technology after it started with a dead DOJ informant and counterfeiting of U.S dollars. How did Pietra Ray fit into all of this? A character from season 9 episode 10.

I'm not liking the new unnecessary editing. The show was fine with the regular shoot about 2-5 per episode. It's almost like they need it to keep viewers. The show is 11 or 12 years old. It has lost views and will continue doing so but don't ruin it for people who genuinely like the show.

I don't even feel the main characters' interactions again. There was once great chemistry between Sam and G and banter.

This show is having an up an down 12th season (it is amazing it has survived for that long) but this was a really forgettable episode.

Anna and G are so infrequently featured that their relationship means absolutely nothing. I usually could not care less about this stuff and complain when shows give us lovey dubby scenes, but I actually would not have been opposed to them showcasing this a bit more.

The case itself was quite forgettable too. Not sure what they are doing with Beale's return and why he is still there, but there's a reason they moved on from him. He brings almost nothing to the table.
