Signed, William Hamilton McBride

Warning: Spoilers
Glad to have things back in the courtroom, albeit briefly, but I am still not sure what is going on with this season. Is he dead? Is this a dream? It just feels a little too weird.

Insufficient Knowledge
Hitchcoc21 November 2021
Someone finally said it. I'm not an idiot, but I'm also not sure what is going one with these competing pharmaceutical companies. I know that the bottom line is making as much as you can, even though you leave bodies on the street. We finally find out why the big settlement was so easily negotiated. We also get to know Simmons' character more intimately. We know that he has no upside but wields a lot of power. Billy's foggy past comes to haunt him again. Count the scenes where he is literally in a fog, walking the San Francisco streets. But an alliance is forged and it will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Much better than 1st 2 episodes

Finally the story is moving and with only a bit of that awful dream stuff. Starting to feel like Goliath again and it's getting really good. I hope it stays that way.

More of a Review of What's Leading Up
TheFearmakers24 September 2021
The good and the not as good seasons of Goliath had one thing in common: By episode 2 we wanted to know what was next, which is the key to any binging show as binging is just a new term for serials...

But this season has no real cliffhangers at all, and by this time the characters seem basically asleep at the wheel leading up to the (this) third episode that, in previous seasons, would have the plot and suspense well under way but here, things haven't really even started yet...

Perhaps it's the Season 3 style Dreamy Noir aspect wherein it's not entirely clear if what you are seeing is for real or imagined, and what's behind dreams is sleep and this season is a bit on the sleepy side, so far...

We'll see... This is the kind of show that needs to be re-watched to be truly enjoyed... For example, Season 3 didn't initially work in pieces but fared much better as a whole, and upon initial viewing it's not an entire season but episodes that make up a season but...

Again, this one's slowburn to the point of lackluster...

So far.

Can't they get a pharmaceutical consultant?
heard_david4 October 2021
I love this series, but seriously? The lack of knowledge or understanding about how the pharmaceutical industry, safety regulations, and even basic science is unforgivable. Would it be that difficult to hire a consultant and make a believable story?

Going for a ride with Hitchcock
dierregi31 May 2023
As a Hitch fan I did not miss the reference to "Vertigo" and "To catch a thief", with people falling from the Golden Gate and that famous scene with Grace Kelly scaring Cary Grant with her reckless driving along the Cote d'Azur. Denise was even wearing a similar dress... More winking to Grace Kelly, referencing also "High noon", in the black&white, Western scene I guess...

Add to that also Blade Runner with some rainy night scene and Japanese neon shop signs, but unfortunately, all the stylistic touches do not make this series even remotely memorable or in the same territory of the previously mentioned movies.

It's just pedestrian imitation for a series that had one good season and three mediocre to bad ones. I guess the authors were not pleased with the success of the first, more straightforward series and decided to go the fancy way of differentiating all of the following series, managing only to alienate a disoriented audience.

What happens in this episode, except the Hitchcock/ High Noon rip off? BBT sleepwalks through the episode, making a big win for the firm, drinking excessively, having dinner with Sam and meeting the annoying oriental, overdressed female (so much symbolism as to make one throw up). Patty gets her prize and BBT seems strangely uncaring. The baddies of this series are the usual old, white men.
