Pretty Wholesome
benseerd30 June 2022
I thought this show was very sweet and brought sensitive topics like periods and getting older into a format that kids can understand. The plot itself was fairly simple, but the dialogue felt natural and the characters were fairly down to earth, which helped the show to speak to both kids and grownups alike. It's not much, but it's very engaging and a good quick watch.

Wholesome.

Each episode wasn't amazing, but none were bad and I enjoyed them all. I love the wholesome way they tie it together in the end. Glad to see something not related to violence or smut that seems so prevalent in modern times.

I would like to thank the snowflakes for introducing this show to me, it is so sweet and I learned a lot of things from it.

Also, the animations were amazing.

Cute and funny show
rikforthekill1 July 2022
Probably not what Big Hero 6 fans were hoping for, but it's a cute and funny show and a good hour of television. Some folks are claiming that it's too woke, "pushing agenda's" and inappropriate. It's a cartoon about a walking balloon helping people for crying out loud. I thought the "first period" episode was very well done and very appropriate. If you don't think your kids should watch a cartoon addressing an important topic like that, I feel sorry for your kids.

There is not one falalalalalala tho... Now Disney, please give us a decent Big Hero 6 sequel.

Comfort
beccaccrum29 June 2022
The amount of happiness I had while watching this show. I'd watch 100 seasons of it. Not everything needs to have some Big Bang or big overarching plot and that's okay. A short sweet series about everyone's favourite healthcare companion is something everyone needs. Also episode three - beautiful I wish I had that when I was 12.

Not very interesting on the whole, and consider skipping episodes three and four if you are a parent.

This is my second attempt at leaving a comment, I am not sure why my original review was deleted as it did not break any sort of rules to my knowledge, and with that out of the way, here's my review.

I much enjoyed the Big Hero 6 feature from 2014, it did not reinvent the wheel as far as superhero movies are concerned but was still a very fun film with energetic animation and likeable characters. I was a bit intrigued after the announcement of this series and decided to give the full season a watch one night out of curiosity.

Basically, the series centers around the titular character helping various citizens of San Fransokyo in very brief vignettes. Outside of Cass and Hiro, with Maya Rudolph and Ryan Potter reprising their roles alongside Scott Adsit as Baymax, and the family cat none of the other characters from the Big Hero 6 feature return for this series and we spend time with other characters that have almost no relation with the cast of the original film. You are constantly left to wonder why is Baymax helping them out, and why do their problems really warrant his presence. Despite this, most of these vignettes are fine - they're fairly short, so it's not like you will be spending a full hour of your time with these singular narratives. However, I must echo what some others have said and agree that the third and fourth episodes of the first season are not very appropriate for younger viewers, especially the third vignette - if you're a parent or guardian consider skipping these two if your children really want to see the series, nothing will be lost if you stop at two and continue at five.

Dynamic duo
The thing that is appeal the most from this movie is probably the characters, Hiro and Baymax is a dynamic duo of such an amazing character, these two is probably one of the best Disney characters, i love them both, the rest of the characters is also very interesting as well, i would like to know more about them, Hiro is undoubtly to me one of the greatest Disney protagonist to put on screen, i just really love him, and Baymax is also might be one of the best robot character of all time, i really loved his personality, he's non-threatening and huggable, his voice is very soothing to hear, Scott Adsit nailed the role, so is the rest of the cast.

It feels like a great way to continue the franchise
arielsiere30 June 2022
I only watched some episodes and they were entertaining and cool to go on with the franchise just like Big Hero 6 The Series in 2017, now Baymax our robot friend leads with any kind of pain or trouble around the world and i think this also teaches us valuable lessons too such as accepting who we are, taking care of other people that feel sick, doing some sports, dealing with troubles, etc.

Short and sweet!
maxdon-0432229 June 2022
A very well done short series! With very short episodes everything that would have made the episodes feel slow or awkward just isn't included, so everything is straight story with some humor sprinkled in!

Boring and underwhelming
marksspricis29 August 2022
Baymax! Is a 6 episode animated show based on the Big Hero 6 franchise focusing on the loveable robot Baymax as he assists people with medical help. Maybe Baymax! Is made for a very young audience, but i don't know how anybody beyond the age of 5 could enjoy, it is so boring and predictable. However animation is very good for a kids show as you would expect from Disney. I liked that all the episodes came together in the last and some Baymax jokes were a bit funny and it teaches important things like importance of resting and notifying others of your health but all in all there are a lot of much better cartoons for kids.

Funny and thought provoking
cloetehenri2 July 2022
If you come into Baymax! Expecting an epic superhero series, you will undoubtedly be disappointed. Instead you get 6 very short episodes of Baymax's day-to-day activities. Nothing flashy, but still made memorable by the classic Baymax humour that, for me, was the highlight of the Big Hero 6 movie, memorable characters, thought provoking and emotional moments, and some outstanding representation of difficult topics. My only small critique is that it felt a bit rushed at moments. But overall, I enjoyed it for being different and I hope that there will be more episodes in the future.

Warning: Spoilers
It is our friend Baymax helping out! Loads of cute short stories with him helping in the café, supporting a girl for her first period and even if you are a kitten he is there to help. It is cute, loveable, funny and helpful. And I commend Disney for their inclusiveness, diversity and treating all of these topics for what they are: regular every day situations dealt with by all people all over the world! How did you feel when you had your first period? I sure would have loved a balloon medical robot buy my pads for me!

This show is short and is made for kids. Dont expect any huge thing it's simple and happy 7 minute episodes that's sure to bring a smile on to the face.. Compared to the movie it's not that good but yet it's good enough.

Especially the third episode was a gread attempt in the kids genre.

Short, sweet inclusion
andrewplord3 July 2022
A short, low key little series of adventures of the big balloon medical robot from Big Hero 6.

Covers a series of health issues without preaching or being over earnest and full of little jokes that might not be laugh out loud, but certainly bring a smile.

And yes, it does include representation of LGBT characters and shows a couple of health issues frankly and if you can't cope then don't watch. But for everyone else this is a sweet way to spend an hour.

Great but need more Disney!
nomorebcs3 July 2022
Would have rated it a 10, but I was expecting an actual series... Was bummed to see just 6 shorts. Baymax needs more screen time! Either make a real series or make a new movie. Would make as a better movie than light-year.

I love the 3rd and 4th episodes so much it's about time a show talks about these things the most important things in life to talk about love this show especially since it's actually teaching you something instead of whitewashing and straightwashing stuff like Hollywood always does.

FINALLY NEW BIG HERO 6 CONTENT!
fillip-9606230 June 2022
Its been years but it still has that fresh charm from the original movie. A fun quick watch for family and kids to brighten up your day. Its amazing how Disney can come out with new creative content that builds on old franchises, while retaining the original tone of the series.

Loved the Big Hero 6 movie and seeing them go back to the core Japanese roots of the movie is lovely.

Great fun
tniemy1 July 2022
Don't listen to stupid right wingers. Must be scary for white cis right wing men. You are now the minority in the world. All of us normal people love that Disney is embracing representation of the LGBTQ+ community. So you want to boycott Disney and refuse to go to Disney land. Cool with us. Just means we won't have to deal with your cray cray stuff and the happiest place in earth is really the happiest place in earth without y'all.

As for an actual review of the show. It's adorable and exactly what baymax was created for. Love it.

A lovely bit of fun
the_musicbox1330 June 2022
A great series of colourful, light hearted shorts. It doesn't need to be any deeper than that and is guaranteed make adults and kids smile alike.

As usual you'll notice the 1 star brigade out in full force but unless you're also an angry closet case that thinks fluoride in the water is making you gay then you'll probably just enjoy this show as it's intended.
