Best so far

This week's episode seemed much less wooden and forced than the earlier episodes. Probably not coincidentally, it's also the first episode that is not a rehash of an episode of Miranda. Rather than trying (and failing) to recreate the magic of the original, they are allowing the characters to be themselves. If they continue like this, it might avoid cancellation.

Warning: Spoilers
I love how they make mental health serious in this episode. The mother-daughter bonding was very touching. And I love the Max & Kat duets!!

Improving...

The first 3 episodes were pretty silly, but it takes a new comedy a while for the actors to relax and gel. Less is more regarding Kat talking to the camera; a meaningful look at the camera is funnier and does not effect the forward flow of the plot. I really dislike her making comments to the audience, but that's an easy fix. I really enjoyed this episode, and feel hopeful about future episodes.

Worse each Week

Not sure why I keep watching this horribly unfunny insult to the original, Miranda. They get nothing right. It's not that it lacks everything that made Miranda wonderful, it's just poorly written and executed.

Better!

I really want to like this show. I love pleasant, quirky sitcoms, and I love coffee and cats. However, the first episodes were rough.

This fourth episode is just good enough to keep me hopeful. Still some really flat jokes, but the actors are hitting their stride. The therapy session held some unforced poignancy.

Mayim is settling into her role. It was like she was reanimating herself after having to portray Amy Farrah Fowler for eleventy-billion seasons, and now she's worked off all the excess energy.

I'm sticking around.

Cripes! Just how old is swoozie Kurtz?!!
follyfriday23 January 2021
I love Leslie Jordan and it's nice to see Mayim Bialik in a vibrant role but the rest - ugh! Where did they find these actors?! And swoozie Kurtz looks like she's 103 and so, so, painfully thin. On top of that, premise is awful! Gad!
