People might not even admit that Ark: The Animated Series is an Isekai. Mostly because people are ashamed of Isekai’s association with the anime fandom. For those who do not know what it means, isekai is a genre typically found in anime that shows the story of a character who gets magically transported to another world. This other world usually comprises medieval themes, mythical creatures, and magic. Although this series is based on the survival video game Ark: Survival Evolved, I think watching this adaptation is quite a trip. I haven’t played this game yet, but I have played Conan Exiles, and again, I can’t help but draw parallels between the two worlds. But again, for me at least, Isekai is a guilty pleasure.

We’re back in December 2020, and Paramount announces a new dinosaur-themed animated series titled Ark: The Animated Series. The series was announced via a trailer during the 2020 Video Game Awards, also revealing that the series would be featuring a star-filled cast that would include Gerard Butler, David Tennant, Michelle Yeoh, Jeffrey Wright, Zahn McClarnon, Elliot Page, Karl Urban, Malcolm McDowell, Alan Tudyk, Russell Crowe, and Vin Diesel, all of whom will also serve as the executive producers of the series.
The series was based on the Ark: Survival Evolved video game, with the game’s creators Jeremy Stieglitz and Jesse Rapczak serving as the creators of the series as well. In June 2022, as the series entered post-production, it was revealed that both Monica Bellucci and Dee Bradley Baker had joined the series as well, with Gareth Coker as the composer. And that was more or less it for a while.

In January, ‘Echo’ came out, marking some big moments in the MCU. It was the first show under Marvel Spotlight and it officially added ‘The Defenders’ Saga to the MCU timeline, settling the debate about Netflix’s Marvel Shows being canon.
After its release, rumors swirled about some shows getting revived, characters recast, and joining other projects. Fans consistently pushed for a ‘Jessica Jones’ revival. Turns out, they’re not alone. Krysten Ritter said she’d love to come back, and now David Tennant, who played the villain Zebediah Kilgrave, expressed interest in returning to the project this year.
On the BAFTA Red Carpet, Tennant was asked which project he’d want to go back to, now that his major roles in ‘Doctor Who,’ ‘Star Wars,’ and ‘Harry Potter’ have been brought back.

While the number of truly great video game adaptations is tragically small, the fact of the matter is that there’s still a bit of a gold rush for familiar properties. As such, it seems that every studio and streaming service in the world is looking to adapt one video game or another.
Seriously, the number of video game adaptations currently in some stage of development is insane. You may occasionally hear about some video game adaptation popping up here and there, but it’s hard to fully grasp the extent of this movement until you see every adaptation listed in one place. As such, that’s what we’re here to do.
Before we dive into the list, though, please note that there is a truly ridiculous number of video game adaptations possibly in development at this time. That being the case, we will not only be updating this article as needed,...

In a scene midway through “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” Michelle Yeoh frantically runs away from a woman who is swinging her leashed lap dog in the air like a bola. Deborah Mailman is reflecting on playing Senator Alex Irving, her in character Total Control – the most complex role she believes she’s had in a more than 20 year career.
The Blackfella Films political drama is set to return for a second season tonight on the ABC, and for Mailman, the emotional stakes this time around are higher again.
In the Aacta Award-winning first season, Irving engineered a coup to dethrone Prime Minister Rachel Anderson (Rachel Griffiths), who appointed her to the Senate.
Now, she must face the reality of the alliance she’s made with the Opposition Leader Laurie Martin (William McInnes), taking orders from him and his offsider, enigmatic Indigenous politician Paul Murphy (Wayne Blair).
“In season two, the writers took Alex pretty much to breaking point,” Mailman tells If.
“The emotional energy that was required for some of those moments was exhausting.
