Must people tend to think this song is a romantic one but in fact it goes beyond that. Legião Urbana goes to higher depths to present an ecological song about the dangers of nuclear power plants such as the one that takes the title song located in the beautiful Angra dos Reis. "To feel your perfect heart beating in waste it hurts" is not about wasted people, it's more about the power plant and how it was a mystery to people back then, a year after the Chernobyl disaster. But there are romantic touches to it which can confuse people.
The video presents Renato Russo, Renato Rocha, Dado Villa-Lobos and Marcelo Bonfá having a time for themselves rather than performing the song except for Russo who sings it from time to time. In the meantime, they're all chatting between themselves; Rocha rides a bicycle; Bonfá makes sketches of the nuclear power plant; followed by some images of them observing the nature around Angra.
A very intriguing clip "Angra dos Reis" marks as one of Legião's greatest efforts in creating a peaceful ballad. And the video is one of their nicest ones with the scary inclusion of a voice-over talking of how the danger is over in the power plant. It gives the spooky sensation something went wrong in Angra dos Reis. This is post Chernobyl and pré Celsium 137 affair in September 1987. The planet was all up in arms over nuclear power and it's costs to human life and nature. Don't be tricked under the poetic parts of romantism, the song is a powerful protest about the nature cause. Excellent despite the lack of a wider appeal in the video. 9/10.
