All I can say wow! Hart, Snipes me blew completely away along with the rest of the cast. Simply one of the best series I've seen this whole year. Wesley is a given but I always knew Hart could play these roles and I'm so glad he was finally given a script to show off the skills I knew he had to play a serious actor. Looking forward to seeing him in more roles like this. A definite highly recommend. Again....wow!

Not the biggest fan of Kevin Hart's acting, but I was actually impressed with this. Great storyline, and of course the OG- Wesley Snipes delivered! Glad I watched!

Im not a fan of Kevin Harts new comedy specials so i went into this series with low hopes. The whole series was shot well with a good performance from Kevin Hart. With that being said, the writers were absolutely fantastic. Good Job, would definitely recommend.
What a happy surprise this series is. Great to see Wesley Snipes back in action and wow -Kevin Hart. Excellent performance. Everyone all around was fantastic. Good to see Billy Zane as well. Bravo! PS I'm on episode five and Gene better not get hurt!
I'm not actually a Kevin Hart fan. I find him too OTT in his movies and not entirely funny. However it was both refreshing and surprising to see him act in a more dramatic role. I believed him. I really enjoyed this mini series. All supporting cast were perfect. Not quite sure what the moral of the story was. I don't think there were any. But a good watch nonetheless. I also wish they casted darker skinned black women in this.

Kevin Hart was simply brilliant in this new serious dramatic role. Great mini series with twists and thrills. Also Wesley snipes add his weight in the series. Great and a must watch....

True Story was a pleasant surprise. My expectations for this were very low, considering Kevin Hart always plays a comedic role and we have not seen Wesley Snipes in many years. The acting was truly the biggest surprise. Each character was well thought out and the actors in every role did great. This is no comedy. Kevin Hart was great this a dramatic role. And kudos to Wesley Snipes. He was great in his role too.
In a time when everything has to be drawn out to make as much money as possible, True Story was very well paced. The story was tight and the episodes short - so you could watch at your own pace and not get bored with an overdrawn plot. If I was to say something negative, it would only be that the story was a little predictable... but not totally. Well done.

Surprisingly good mini series! Many unexpected plot twists. Hart did an amazing job and definitely needs some awards and accolades. TRUE STORY is the perfect binge! Enjoy!

With credit to Kevin Hart, he didn't asked to be type-cast as a comedian. He definitely delivers in this largely unfunny crime drama. Of course, there are never the less, some comedic moments- and Kevin essentially plays a version of himself in a parallel universe. Welsey Snipes plays his brother, just released from prison. As much as there's some rekindling of their brotherhood, circumstances and a tumultuous relationship result in a rocky road for this pair. Snipes as always does a fine job and I'm certainly very glad to see that he's been released back into the world of top-tier projects. Not a bad watch.

Kevin Hart is an incredible actor.
I absolutely loved watching him play Kid, a well-to-do stand up comedian with a litany of problems.
As someone who always tries to predict where the plot will go while watching shows/movies, I was surprised at EVERY turn.
I wish I could erase memory and rewatch. If you want dark comedy, thrills, and shocks - watch this, you won't be disappointed.

I'm 4 episodes in and I like the show a lot. However...Kevin Hart has too much stress to be sleeping more than 2 hours a night max! I want what he's having lol.

My wife, who picks out truly great films, is more inquisitive than I. I'll spin right by something if it's not sci fi or something I already have a penchant for. Yet she puts it on and always gives it a chance. (She's a big fan of Kevin Hart, so knows he does great work).
Well, within minutes of the first episode, I was totally hooked. My work schedule went out the window, as I was immediately glued to the TV.
The storyline, directing, dialog and acting was as GOOD AS IT EVER GETS. And I'll mention the acting here twice, as Kevin Hart and Wesley Snipes were absolutely superb as brothers and both richly deserve Emmys for their performances.
If you're a big fan of "Fargo", "A Simple Plan" "Snatch" and "Jackie Brown", I guarantee this nail biting series will knock your 'movie-crime-fan' socks off. Absolutely satisfying in every respect.
All in...I believe this series to be a strong "10".

A very well done comedic thriller. Predictable? Perhaps, but still keeps you guessing about what's next. Twists and turns with a look at the relationship between a celebrity and his brother and also how celebs have to deal with fans, good and bad. Kudos.
I started this last night and couldn't stop until it was over. It's a fictional story loosely based on Hart himself aka "kid," in the series. Great acting with my old action hero Snipes. Super tight thriller with plenty of twist.

When I watching this TV series I keep thinking of a good thrill novel by Scott Smith A simple plan. I like that novel And I like this film both of them keep me suspending and in a mood of depression. Kevin Hart's acting is unexpected great.

I'm a bit suprised at so many high ratings. Not because I didn't enjoy, I absolutely did, but because while I was watching I actually had the thought of wondering how other would review it.
So many outlandish and unrealistic events occur that I thought for sure many would not be able to enjoy the show for what it is and pan it for being over the top. But alas people are able to enjoy something if they like the people in it!
Kevin Hart is great in this role as he is able to bring some comedic presence to a serious role and doesn't come off as over the top. Wesley Snipes was FANTASTIC. No other way to put it. Billy Zane and the rest of the co-stars do a great job as well.
The story itself was rather predictable for me but you're still not 100% sure it's going to turn out a certain way. It's worth the watch for sure.
SweeZ.

A must watch gripping thriller. Engaging performances by both Kevin hart and Wesley snipes. Even though I'd figured out the plot from the start the suspense kept me at the edge of my seat.

The Netflix summary for this limited series did it no justice. Being a long time Snipes fan, I decided to give it a shot. Worth it!
From the first episode through the end I made excuses to power through this in a couple days. The chemistry & emotions unique to each character made this series feel real. Dare I say, like a true to life story that could very well happen... cheesy, I know. I especially enjoyed the part of the "Tres Commas" guy from Silicon Valley fame (Chris Diamantopolous). Not giving anything away but watch this & behold Kevin Hart the actor.

I enjoyed binge watching this mini series. Wasn't even expecting it to be so interesting. Never seen Kevin in any series before this and I am glad I not only found it amusing but also captivating.
There are lessons to learn from it; one of which would be - Family ain't always blood. Sometimes family can be the persons who just wants to see the individual do better and succeed. Carlton was Kevin's brother in this series but unfortunately, Todd was even a greater supporter of his career and wellbeing than his brother ever was.
I loved the cinematography, lighting, sound, color grading and especially the props; all where symmetrically in sync and pleasing to the senses.
Overall, it was a time well spent; I enjoyed it.

It took me a while to sum up the energy to watch this (only watched it in December 2022) but I absolutely must admit I am quite pleasantly surprised. We certainly need to see more Wesley Snipes on TV & Kevin Hart certainly is not the typecast character I thought he was. Yes the show is not perfect but my goodness I was gripped. Watch with an open mind (I certainly did not) and you might be surprised too. What a plot. What a beautiful mess. What a masterpiece. From the onset & throughout, I was gripped. Even the annoying little discrepancies in story & setup were not enough to remind me that I was expecting the worst. I was not disappointed at all.
From the last moments of the first episode, you just know this is going to be impressive, and it doesn't fail.
Powerful acting from Hart and Snipes, and solid work from all the supporting cast, takes what is already a dramatic and sometimes shocking story and makes it a really powerful show. And most episodes end in some kind of cliffhanger that keeps the tension high, sometimes with intrigue/mystery/twists thrown in. Difficult not to binge watch it!
It could have benefited from a more unique ending, but it was still a solid finish. In fact, the only real issue I have with it is that sometimes Hart is just himself: trying to be positive and encouraging, but coming across as somewhat smug as he does so. And that smugness is reinforced by the way the whole moral of the story seems to be 'oh, how difficult life is for the super rich'.
That's only the rare occasion, though. The vast majority of the time, Hart plus his role so well!

I must admit, at 1st I didn't want to watch this series so it took me awhile to do so. I was pleasantly surprised. I couldn't stop watching it. Definitely binge worthy. Hart & Snipes made a great pair. Will probably watch it again.
