- Devara Kannu is a 1975 Indian Kannada film, directed by Y. R. Swamy and Produced by Sri Bhagavathi Productions. The film stars Lokesh, Aarathi, Anant Nag and Ambarish in lead roles. The music of the film was composed by T. G. Lingappa.
- Dr.Ramesh is on the run from police having fled from the scene of murder shown red handed killing his sister's ( Jayalakshmi, as Rekha) rapist played by Ambarish. He meets up with Sandhya ( Arathi) also a runaway bride from her home in a lonely Railway station on a rainy night. Witha white saree clad woman singing a haunting song, this makes the setting very eerie for the two strangers.They learn slowly who they are and iy looks tye hands of destiny bare actove to make the betrothed hero and heroine meet thus. But Ramesh is on the run chased by police having left his sister suffering from amnesia being treated by his friend Dr Anand( Anant Nag).Heteels the story of how he,a do-gooder Doctor had to resort to murder in a fit of anger and revenge. But as the case in court proceeds with Ramesh's arrest, the sister is being cured and she remembers everything that Ramesh wants her to forget. The chain of events culminates in suspenseful ending in a courtroom drama where the truth is revealed. Hummable numbers include O iniya nee elliruve, Naguvina aluvina sankole, Ninna neenu maretarenu sukhavide.
