An Inspiration

I really enjoyed Harry Otto Brünjes' film "La Bella Figura", screened at the BAFTA last week. I myself have never been to Rome and have definitely been inspired to visit next year.

The city was beautifully captured in black and white. Rather than in colour, which I am sure would have also been stunning, b&w really made the architecture stand out and gave it a more days-gone-by feel. All of this was accompanied by Eric Brünjes score which, in my opinion, was perfect.

Beautiful singing by Kate Hollingsworth and I thought the acting was good too. I especially enjoyed watching Yor Bonci.

Loved it

I very much enjoyed La Bella Figura at BAFTA last week. Rome lovingly, moodily shot in black and white and directed by Harry Otto Brujes, looked fabulous: his love affair with the city beautifully captured on film. Composer and musician Eric Bunjes should be congratulated on his original score as should Harry for stepping in to play the lead on a film with a limited budget. The film is testament to this young writer/director's extraordinary courage, spirit and tenacity as well as his talents. Harry Otto Brunjes first film, La Bella Figura is something to proud of. Thanks to Harry and Deckchair Productions for their stylish reception at the BAFTA and to Harry and the cast for a charming and very watchable film and for their generous Q&E after the screening. Congratulations to them all.
