No matter where you go, there you are.
Yep, that's an annoying phrase, but it still holds true as as we take a bit of a time jump at the beginning of Halt and Catch Fire Season 3 Episode 1.
It's 1986 and Mutiny has been successfully ensconced in what will become a very busy Silicon Valley for about six months.

There is a lot of room in the new digs, and a lot of new faces. Mutiny's customer base has expanded and there's a celebration for 100,000 users, a mainframe computer, and the expansion of John Bosworth's family. He has a new grandson.
But even as well as everything is going, there are still problems, and many followed them to California. Not that you can tell they're in California, just like it's not blatantly obvious the show takes place in 1986.

After weathering an initial storm of fan outrage, “Teen Titans Go!” has pulled off its risky reboot from darkness to self-parody, broadening its reach and getting even wackier in its third season on Cartoon Network.
If anything, the change in tone and character design (more Flash-based) have magnified their iconic traits: Robin (Scott Menville) has become even more neurotic in his inability to control the Titans; Raven (Tara Strong), the half-demon, demonstrates her conflicted Goth nature; Starfire (Hynden Walch), the warrior princess, remains unshakably optimistic when everything seems out of control; Cyborg (Khary Payton) has grown more soulful; and the green, shape-shifting Beast Boy (Greg Cipes) has increased his musical arsenal as the prankster.
And embracing their sillier sides has suited the voice cast, which has remained intact since the original “Teen Titans” series (2003-2007) and grown closer during Friday’s recording sessions.

Gary Richards A.K.A. Destructo has been a staple of the SoCal scene for over 20 years, but between running promotional company Hard and waging a legal battle with Insomniac Events Co-Founder Pasquale Rotella he hasn’t put out that much new music as of late. For that reason alone, even though there isn’t much of anything special about his new track, “Techno,” everybody’s talking about it.
“Techno” – which, ironically, we would categorized somewhere between mid-tempo and electro house – features minimalistic production elements. Simple sawtooth synths are occasionally matched by the acid house squelch of a Roland TB-303 synthesizer, but the core of the arrangement is built around a sample of the phrase “Nobody listens to techno” – a reference to the much-maligned lyric from Eminem’s 2002 anthem “Without Me.”
An accompanying video uses cell-shaded CG to depict an industrial assembly line of the iconic smiley faces which would...

The New York Times' David Carr moderated a New School panel of podcast and public radio powerhouses called "Serial and the Podcast Explosion." The group, which included "Serial"'s Sarah Koenig, "StartUp" creator Alex Blumberg, and "Invisibilia" host Alix Spiegel, talked about the mechanics of what makes a good radio story, Ira Glass as a "dark overlord," and the public good. Koenig in particular talked about how freeing it was for her to do a podcast versus traditional newspaper reporting. Koenig said, "I was just like, 'Podcast, who cares, try it! It doesn't matter. It's a podcast. Nobody listens to podcasts.'" During the audience Q&A, one woman asked if she thought about engaging the Reddit community. The short answer? Nope. She "didn't even know what Reddit was," but was glad they were there to make sure she brought her A game. Here is the long answer: Sarah Koenig:...

"Blown Away" is an apt title for the song that Carrie Underwood has scored her two latest Grammy nominations for.
The music superstar has earned five of the honors since winning the fourth season of "American Idol," and she says she's thrilled to be in the running again for her most recent CD's title cut, nominated for best country solo performance and best country song. She'll also perform when CBS televises the 55th Annual Grammy Awards from Los Angeles' Staples Center on Sunday, Feb. 10.
"It's the Grammys!," the friendly Underwood tells Zap2it. "Those are something you learn about when you're a kid, before you even realize exactly what they are. Growing up watching them and seeing all kinds of music coming together for one night to celebrate a great year, it's a cool thing to be a part of now. It's just fun to be there and to be a part of history.

Take a look at the news. Wars are raging. There's proof that a dingo really did eat that woman's baby. But worst of all, there's been a blistering drought: a drought of "Teen Mom." After nine long months, your thirst is being quenched -- so I hope you take yours straight up with a twist of neglect and a dash of Suboxone. Please refrain from operating heavy machinery while under the influence of this recap.
Amber: It'll be strange to watch Amber's downward spiral this season since her smash-landing at rock bottom has already played out in a mess of increasingly depressing headlines. She attempted suicide twice and was sentenced to five years in prison on June 6 after violating probation and lying to the court. It's an awful story that makes me hesitant to dole out my usual amount of biting criticism but hey, George Washington himself once said, "You've...

From junkie thief to innumerable character roles, the man with the most striking mug in Hollywood is finally getting, with Machete, his chance to star
Danny Trejo is firmly established in his second life as a movie actor, and is currently digging into "the best eggs Benedict in town" in a booth at Musso & Frank on Hollywood Boulevard. Meanwhile, he is regaling me with tales from his first life, as a junkie, professional thief and hardcore inmate of some of the worst prisons in 1960s California. Trejo, 17 years before he had any idea about his next career, nearly blew it for good. Fate, dumb luck, and the law had other ideas, though.
"I cleaned up on Cinco de Mayo, 1968. I went to the hole after a prison riot at Soledad prison. There was a visiting baseball team in the yard that day and Ray Pacheco, one of my friends, had come down from Atascadero,...

This review is courtesy of Bidite reviewer Will (The Film Reel) and "Troll 2" virgin. You wanted someones take on the film that never witnessed it before and Will (who was a closet "Troll 2" virgin) was more than shocked as most people are who watch it for the first time. As always this is a top notch review, check it out after the break...
It was finally my pleasure last night to watch Troll 2, apparently the best worst movie ever. I’ve gotta say that it certainly isn’t the worst movie I’ve seen and it’s not the best worst movie I’ve seen either. I was actually expecting this one to be much, much worse. Don’t be mistaken here though, this movie certainly is terrible...
The dialogue is terribly written and horribly delivered but it’s all presented in that so bad it’s good way.

Coming off of a DC-set season that even naysayers agree was much, much better than Season 6 (aka "The Season with Mushroom Cloud, the Evil Grandpa, and Rick Schroder"), 24 has moved its base of operations to New York for the eighth season. To reflect the show's new setting, billboards across America are proclaiming: "New York Gets Jacked." I don't know what that means, but I like it. (Check out Ken Tucker's take on the new season here.) The show hosted a red carpet premiere in New York last week and EW.com was there to chat with Kiefer Sutherland ask vital questions to the supporting cast.
