Another moronic episode with great production value
jeroen-10628 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Basically the dude is asked to make a key under threat. Instead of making a key that does exactly what the bad guy wants, he could have "fused the key with intent" another way by adding a 15-minute expiration date for recruited zombies, who would then either collapse or revert back to human-mode.

This way he would have freed himself yet the key would be essentially useless to the bad guy (or should I say, girl?).

Also the girl who helps with the miniature building should have prepared and not be exposed like that to her father, but okay sure thing.

The special effects, cinematography is excellent as always. I just hope they stop using part-time interns for their writing room.

Dumb

So frustratingly stupid! Each characters role in the plan.

The kid running up the stairs, yelling about Eden, essentially giving away the plan. Its lucky the upstairs plan had already failed!

Everything about this episode was frustrating,

That was a frustratingly DUMB plan!

SMH and SMDH again.

So annoyed at this episode. That was a really really dumb plan with loopholes galore. Pity because so far the season has been alright, so was hoping on an actual win for a change. It's been loss after loss.

Also an outdated 'lack of communication' trope has been overused in so many forgettable series. Please writers don't do this to Locke & Key.

How many keys have they lost now to Dodge now?

Sigh.

Frustratingly senseless plot

Warning: Spoilers
While the plan to capture Dodge failing was expected, it is still a tired trope I was disappointed to see actually happen. But what follows is even more brainless. Duncan, with the ability to make the key do whatever he wants, makes it do....exactly what Dodge wants it to do??? Why?! You don't think "when this key is used Dodge is destroyed" or something that would help them would've made more sense? It's infuriatingly poor writing. So much so, I lost interest in the rest of the season. I skimmed over it. Eden having the Anywhere and Echo keys at the end looks like a lazy rinse-and-repeat for season 3.

Awful & brainless writing

The episode name should be stupid plans rather than best laid plans. Jamie could have just crushed eden and thrown Gabe to well directly using the toy house. Duncan could have made any key.

Terrible episode in everyway
mrchrissross-5025730 October 2021
Terrible in every way, really was. The way they lose the fight with gabe, yet again losing the everywhere key. The way Duncan can easily make a key that could kill anyone who uses it, and yet instead made the exact key he was told to make. And finally the way they choose to not get as much help as they possibly could find, leaving the mother, friends, etc.. out.

Horrible writing just horrible

Just when I think the writing can't get worse it does. Contrived. Predictable. One dimensional. The story is based in fantasy but at least try to make it cohesive and believable on some level.

Awful on every level.

And people got paid for this?!

Writers bored and writing anything... Villain catch duncan and make him to make a key but he would have made a key that whoever uses it will die. Stupid writing.

Dumbest Characters in Any Show Ever
coachsalm28 December 2021
This writers of this episode make the writers for Gilligan's Island and Mr Ed look like Quentin Tarantino. Beyond stupid. When you're watching this episode think of the dumbest thing you can think the characters can possibly do, and these dolts will be dumber. With dumb dialog, to boot.

They have many keys, why didn't they use it? Where is the key that grants and gives super strength? They have many keys, why didn't they use it? Where is the key that grants and gives super strength?
