The Mad Woman in the Attic: Part 2
Prismark109 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
It is the second episode that raises the remote possibility that Kelly might just be innocent.

It is Fitz who raises it to DCI Bilborough who scoffs at the suggestion. After all there is no alternative suspect.

Efforts to find out more about Kelly ultimately prove fruitless. It seems this man does not exist anywhere.

There is a breakthrough when an anonymous phone call from a priest is made. He tells the police that Kelly had made a confession and gives the details of another dead body of a woman that was dumped.

If Kelly is an amnesiac he is certainly a convincing one. Fitz ropes in DS Penhaligon to lure the killer out.

The race to find the killer was rushed and a tad melodramatic. If that murder was successful, then it would also have proved that Kelly was innocent.

Overall this was a fascinating first story and I did like the psychological and forensic insights. It was also good to see many of the characters were so sharply defined.

Another brilliant instalment with a brilliant twist. Great script and brilliant acting for a cast, many of whom went on to great things. A great start to a brilliant series.

A truly brilliant first outing.

Fitz takes charge of Thomas Kelly, he's convinced there's more to it, The Police are adamant that he's guilty.

Wow, Jimmy McGovern has a proven pedigree, a track record of giving us great shows, this even by his standards, was exceptional.

Grizzly, but not overly macabre, what I did find, is how easy this was to follow, so often with modern dramas, I find myself scratching my head, unable to follow events, this wasn't simple by any stretch, but was really easy to follow.

The scenes between Thomas Kelly and Fitz are absolutely phenomenal, the combined acting skills of Coltrane and Dunbar, truly something to behold, intense, powerful, sincere, it's almost as if you're in the room with them.

What a cast here, moat all of them have made something big if their careers.

I am so excited to watch the rest, this was an awesome start, 10/10.
