How is filmed at studio 2 of The Maidstone Studios in Kent. The same studio that the first few series of How 2 were filmed in the early 90's before production moved to Glasgow.
Although a reworked version of the original theme is kept for this series, the motif of the presenters raising their hands to say "how?" in the way of a stereotyped Native American has been dropped. Although such things seem "of their time", it was a tradition still maintained with the first revival series, How 2 (1990), where the presenters were still making the gesture into the early 2000s.
This revival series of How encourages its presenters to be more consciously "youthful", with scripted, somewhat juvenile jokes even when they're explaining science topics.
Despite what could be seen as a deliberate "dumbing down", all three presenters are actually very educated, with Sam holding a Masters in Journalism, Vick a BA Honours in French, Spanish, Portuguese, and Frankie holding a BA in English Language and Communication. All three are also somewhat older than their "youth presenter" personas, as they are all in their 30s.

Fred Dinenage has presented on the original version of How (1966-1981) and How 2 (1990-2006) as well as making appearances on the third generation of the show as the 'Head of How'. He has spent a combined total of over 30 years as a How presenter as of 2020.
