The police find the body of Frank McCallum, an ex-vice police officer, in the rear seat of his car. They trace his movements to a young prostitute who has McCallum's wallet in her purse, but forensics eliminates her as a suspect. As they look into their ex-colleague's background, they trace McCallum's company credit card expenditures to two high class prostitutes. They charge the women with murder and determine a motive for one of them to have killed the man. Their brilliant defense attorney, Phyllis Gladstone, argues that McCallum was blackmailing her client for free sex and attacked her when she tried to get out of the car. He subsequently tried to force her to have sex and she killed him in self-defense.
