I saw this short at The Palm Springs ShortsFest in 2008. Absolutely hilarious! The plot never stops twisting and turning right to the very end. It's great! I never thought I'd laugh so hard watching a guy trying to commit suicide, but it's the irony that makes this film so funny. The black and white film noir look sets the perfect tone for Mort's dark mood. Cool animation style, very carefully staged scenes I can appreciate the time the director spent laying it all out. I don't think there was any dialog either, which made the storytelling even richer really. I'd say it's definitely in the PG-13 range..a lot of dark adult humor. But a great guilty pleasure for any teen or adult, for sure. Can't wait to see it as a series someday.
