The Reward of God
claudio_carvalho31 October 2009
Sookie finds that the bellboy Barry of the Hotel Carmilla is also a telepath, but the youngster is afraid of his ability. Eric visits Bill and tells that Godric was his creator. Maryann tells Tara that she is moving to Sookie's house with Karl and Eggs, and she uses her power to convince Tara to invite her. Sarah feels attracted by Jason and gives "the reward of God" to him in the bathtub.

In this show, the ridiculous training of the "Soldiers of God" is extensive and boring. One of the best moments is the flashback when Eric tells how he was transformed in a vampire. I am intrigued with the power of Maryann, who cast a spell in Merlotte's making everybody angry with the needy Tara. Is the shape shifter Daphne truly in love with Sam? Or is she part of a scheme? My vote is seven.

Sam and Sookie meet their own kind
Tweekums22 October 2010
Warning: Spoilers
Having met a fellow telepath in Dallas Sookie is keen to spend more time with him and help him comes to terms with his unwanted skill; he is less keen though and thinks they should avoid each other, when Bill hears about him he is inclined to agree that it is best that Sookie keeps a low profile and doesn't meet anybody she doesn't have to while in Dallas. She is there to Help Eric find Godric, his maker, and to do so she volunteers to infiltrate the 'Church of Light' to learn if they are involved in his disappearance. Her brother is of course already a member and is quickly progressing up the ranks as well as catching the eye of the leader's wife. After his late night swim Sam learns that Daphne is also a shape-shifter that leads to them getting closer together. Elsewhere it is clear that Maryann is keen to stay with Tara, apparently the large house they were living in wasn't hers after all and she now needs a place to stay.

This was another gripping episode, Ryan Kwanten but is a fine performance as Jason; he looked genuinely nervous when the preacher's wife came onto him. Michelle Forbes was excellent as always in the role of Maryann, a character that is getting more suspicious with each episode. It was interesting to learn something of Eric's past, I hope we get to see his maker again as he seemed like another interesting character.

S2.E5 - Really Good [8.8/10]

Warning: Spoilers
(S2. E5) My Live Reaction / Review for True Blood Season 2 Episode 5 ''Never Let Me Go''. Episode 4 was good and I gave it a rating of 9/10. Let's see if this one is better or worse. Daphne is a shapeshifter too? Damn. The subplot with Jason's cult is interesting but at this point I would prefer for him to go back home. Finally Lafayette is back at Merlotte's! Awesome. Steve has a room full of guns? He is nuts. Maryann makes everyone go mad once again. Its nice that in this episode we get to see more about Eric's past and how he became a vampire. Tara wants Maryann to stay at Sookie's house? That's not good. Bill's maker is back? Overall a really good episode, my rating is 8.8/10.

Oh deer...
skay_baltimore23 August 2010
Warning: Spoilers
Daphne reveals to Sam that she is a shape shifter by turning into a deer.

Jessica to Bill (after he refused to let her feed on her room service guy): "You are gonna be SO sorry when I get an eatin disorder!!" (I love Jess!!)

Tara has herself some Eggs/breakfast in bed. It also turns out that the house that Maryann was staying in was not hers, and when she asks Tara if it's OK to stay at Sookie's, Tara says no.

Lafayette returns to Merlotte's and asks for his job back and Sam says OK, despite the fact that Lafayette offers up no explanation whatsoever for why he disappeared for 2 weeks.

Problems in paradise between Steve and Sarah. But Steve sure isn't lacking in the firepower department, if that's what you were thinking. On the other hand...Sarah isn't lacking in the firepower department either...Sarah to Jason: "Mary Magdalene washed the feet of Jesus and dried 'em with her hair. Isn't that lovely?" (as she's washing Jason while he's in the bathtub).

Anywho...it looks like Maryann was gaslighting Tara, causing her to mess up all of her drink orders.

Old Eric the Humble: "Wherever I am...there will always be women". Afterwards, it's revealed that Godric is not just another sheriff -- he's Eric's maker.

And Sookie tells Bill she wants him. EVERY WHICH WAY. (Oh my...)
