"Bargain" is an Australian live action short film from 2009 that runs for 7 minutes and has its 10th anniversary this year.. The writer and director is Rachel Givney and this is her most known work to date. Which mostly has to do with Rebel Wilson playing the female lead here. Well, I am not a fan of her today and looks like her old stuff was just as bad. She was almost 30 when this was made, now she is almost 40 and still playing the female equivalent of Jonah Hill roles before he started starring in quality movies. She won't I'm sure. The only reason she looks somewhat solid here is that her male counterpart feels like a really bad actor. In general, this is a film that people would have bombed with criticisms about how anti-women and misogynist it is, but the other way around of course there is not a liberal white knight snowflake taking notice. That is fine I am here. The way he keeps undressing himself is already embarrassing enough, but when it comes to butt touching and making these poses, it is clearly anti-men and very disrespectful in my opinion. Or actually not in my opinion because it is a fact. Yeah I bet all the women as "quirky" unattractive as Wilson love the idea of her coming this close to a (naked) hunk like him, but that doesn't make it any better. People have been complaining a lot about lack of quality roles for women in Hollywood. I wonder how much competitoon the male actor here faced before he got the role. Yeah well as for the other female actress who plays Wilson's characer's sister, there is not too much to be said about her. Her role simply isn't relevant enough and she is only in it to bring the plot twist. The plot twist was mildly funny, but more like a joke that hearing once is certainly enough. This really short film gets a massive thumbs-down from me. It is not entertaining, not artistic and certainly not creative. Just offensive. Highly not recommended.
