After reading Melissa's letter Guy travels to Elvingdale, he meets Peter and Mary Antrobus, and chats with local nurse and Doctor Swanley's secretary Joyce Dean. Inspector Carter enquires about Don and Delix, Don had left the Party early with Carol Stewart. Guy gets another call from Melissa, asking him to get to their holiday cottage urgently, when he gets there he finds a dead Mary Antrobus. Carter is again suspicious, he asks Guy to produce Melissa's letter, but when he goes to retrieve it, it's gone. Guy is visited by Mary's father George Antrobus, naturally angry with Guy he confronts him, he chats about Mary, and gives Guy details of an upcoming appointment of Mary's, meeting at the dial, stating M must be there. At that very location an attempt was made to kill Joyce Dean, but she survived. Carter accompanies Guy to Elvingdale, where they spot the real George Antrobus.
Don's apartment is rather stylish, love the design of the set, the wallpaper and furniture, his jacket not so much.
Marcia Ashton is a little over the top as Carol, her performance is theatrical to say the least, but then I suppose it's the character she's playing.
It's such an intriguing mystery, as it progresses you can't help but wonder if Guy is guilty or not, can everybody around him be wrong?
