Three Weeks Later
At the Kent Farm, Clark says that it's not safe for Jordan to go back to school. Jordan says that he's going to Sarah's house, and Lois wonders if Lana and Kyle will be there. Her son says that they're having another open house, and Lois mentions that Jordan and Sarah have become close recently. Jonathan doesn't want to accompany Jordan as chaperone, and wants to work with John on his hammer. Lois notes that Jonathan has been spending a lot of time with John, and Jonathan points out that John saved Clark's life twice. Clark says that they're not comfortable with Jonathan building weapons, and Jonathan says that they need to be ready if Morgan runs.
Once the two boys go to the car, Clark asks Lois when Lana started an open house. Lois suggests that Clark ask Lana, and asks Clark to get some light bulbs from the hardware store. Clark says that it's gone out of business, and Lois points out that it's not the first. As they talk, Clark hears Sam and says that he sounds upset.
Clark and Lana go to the DOD command tent, and Sam complains that Chrissy has printed an issue of the Gazette accusing the DOD of holding Smallville hostage. Lana says that Chrissy ran the store past her, and she didn't kill it because Chrissy makes a lot of good questions. Sam says that the DOD will leave Smallville when he thinks it's safe, but he can't say that Morgan is still on the loose because it will cause a panic. Sam is going to speak at the town hall meeting later that day to calm people down, and Lois tells him to be honest for once. Her father points out that a lot of the answers lead back to their family's secrets, and notes that he never seems to get it right with Lois whether he should protect the world or their family.
Clark goes to the Cushing house, and Lana invites him into the open house. He points out that Lana has been avoiding him recently, and she apologizes but says that when she sees him she's reminded of what she's losing. Clark suggests that Lana should stay, and Lana tells him that when he left, she would have done anything to keep him there but he needed a fresh start. Now she and Kyle need a fresh start, and Clark tells Lana that with Martha gone, Lana is the heart of Smallville. Lana says that Smallville is gone, and Clark asks her to stay and rebuild it. Taking Clark's hand, Lana tells him that she and Kyle have made up their way.
Sarah is secretly watching from the window, and goes to tell Jordan that Clark failed to convince Lana to stay. She admits that nobody wants to buy the house, and Jordan says that it's good that they're staying. They kiss, and Sophie sees them and yells that she's telling Lana. She runs into the house and Sarah runs after her.
In the Kent barn, John works on his hammer while Jonathan watches. Jonathan says that he can handle the charged-up hammer, and he did before. John reminds Jonathan that he told him not to ask questions about the modifications he's making. Jonathan notices a fly insignia on the Steel armor, and John says that it was his daughter's idea. John tells Jonathan that Lois was killed on TV and his daughter spent the time after that hiding. He then tells Jonathan he has nothing more to teach him, and he should go bother someone else.
Lois goes to the Gazette and tells Chrissy that she was right to publish the article even though it riled up Sam. She says that she trusts Chrissy to ask Sam the right questions at the town hall, and Chrissy tells Lois that she got the offer to sell the newspaper to a conglomerate. The paper is going broke, and Lois says that if the Gazette folds then Morgan wins. Chrissy tells Lois that she doesn't have a choice.
At the sun, Morgan finishes charging and he turns to Earth, because it's time to rebuild Krypton.
Later at the high school, Clark laments to Lois that Lana is leaving Smallville. They go in to the meeting in the gym, whether the people are protesting the DOD's presence. Lois figures that they have to do something to calm people down.
At the Cushing house, Kyle tells Lana that he's packing his stuff at the station. She wonders if they're making a mistake leaving Smallville, and doesn't want them rushing into a decision they'll regret later. Kyle points out that the Kents' friendship won't put food on the table, and says that it doesn't matter where they life as long as they're together.
At the diner, Jordan, Sarah, and Jonathan are sharing a table. Jonathan's teammates come in and invite Jonathan to a beer party. They invite Jordan and leave, and Sarah points out that they ignored her because of what her parents supposedly did, and then heads home.
Sam points out that the Gazette stirred up a hornet's nest, and accepts Lois' offer to help. Mayor Dean calls the meeting to order, and the townspeople asks when the DOD is leaving. Sam says that the DOD presence will drop once the "toxic materials" have been removed from the mine. When the townspeople object, Chrissy asks Sam where Morgan is and says that people want to know they're safe. Sam refuses to say if Morgan is in custody, and Lois speaks up and says that Morgan isn't. She explains that Morgan escaped the DOD holding facility, and his whereabouts are unknown.
Sam admits that they believe Morgan might return, and the DOD is going to keep everyone safe. Sharon Powell comes in and tells the townspeople not to trust Sam, and she has proof that Sam is lying.
At the fire department, Kyle is packing his things when Tamara comes in. She wonders if Kyle is leaving, and says that Kyle was the one who backed her when she first joined the department even though she was a black woman. Tamara tells Kyle that she gave him a recommendation and she's rooting for him, and leaves.
Leslie is in her cell, and hears gunfire outside. She smiles in satisfaction, and the doors open.
Sharon says that her son Derek died because of what Morgan did, and Sam has known about it for months. The mother asks what Morgan did to her son, and Sam gets a message from a soldier and whispers to Lois that Morgan attacked the holding facility. He leaves with Lois and Clark, and the townspeople protest his departure.
Steel joins the group at the command tent, and Lois says that they need to warn the townspeople about Morgan. When Steel reports that Morgan and Leslie are heading toward Metropolis, Sam tells Steel and Superman to head there. Superman figures Morgan saw Superman's memories and knows that hurting the city will emotionally hurt Superman. Lois figures there's a bigger picture and she'll go with them.
Morgan and Leslie go to Centennial Park in Metropolis, and Lois and Superman arrive. Superman realizes that Morgan isn't himself anymore.
Jonathan and Jordan arrive at the beer party. Jordan gets a call from Sam, but Jonathan tells him to ignore it and party. Tegan comes over and asks Jonathan if they can talk.
Kyle comes home and tells Lana that Tamara got him thinking that maybe they should stay. AS Lana Agree, Kyle gets a call. Sarah is making Sophie's hair in their bedroom, and Kyle and Lana come in and tell them that Kyle got a job offer two hours away. Sarah is shocked that they'll have to move, and asks if they're going to run the minute the things are getting tough. She says that Kyle is the one who sucked up to Morgan, and says that she blames Kyle and Lana.
Superman and Steel confront Leslie and Morgan, and Leslie tells them that they chose Metropolis to bring down the city Superman' champions. Leslie says that they're not alone, and Steel detects other Kryptonian presences in the park. Dozens of Kryptonian-possessed fly out of the crowd, and Morgan tells them to bring the city to its knees.
The Kryptonians fly off to bring Metropolis down, and Superman flies after them. Leslie slams Steel away, and Lois calls over the loudspeaker to tell the civilians to take cover. She goes to find a camera so she can broadcast a warning to the rest of the city.
When the Kryptonians attack the business district, Superman brings one of them down and wrestles with another.
Leslie beats on Steel, destroying his armor, and he blasts her away, then grabs her and slams her to the ground. Another Kryptonian attacks Steel, and his suit's AI warns the hammer won't be charged up for another 19 seconds.
Tegan and Jonathan talk privately, and Tegan admits she was fishing for answers but also wanted to hang out with him. Jonathan points out that she wouldn't go out with him before, and Tegan notes that she moved there two years ago. Jonathan knows what she went through, and Tegan asks him to show her around. Sarah walks past them, goes into the house, and tells Jordan that she needs to talk to him. She yells at the partygoers staring at her, then draws Jordan aside and says that her family is moving.
A partygoer gets video on her phone of the attack on Metropolis, and the others gather to watch it.
Lois goes to the rooftop where the camera is, and says that they need to tell people what's going on. She begins a broadcast, as Superman flies past fighting two Kryptonians.
As Steel fights the other Kryptonian, Leslie flies off.
Kyle watches Lois' broadcast on TV, and calls Lana in to watch. Leslie flies up behind Lois. Steel gets his hammer, and throws it at Leslie instead of his opponent. The hammer comes back to Steel's hand, slamming into the Kryptonian along the way.
Lois continues her broadcast, and tells people to keep an eye out for suspicious activity.
Superman subdues his two opponent and returns to the park. They fly at Morgan, but a force field repels them. Morgan flies off when they're not looking.
Sam receives a report that Jonathan and Jordan aren't at the Kent farm.
As night falls, Jordan says that they can have a long-distance relationship. Sarah points out that it didn't work for Jonathan and Eliza. Before Jordan can respond, Sam comes in and tells his grandsons to get in his car. Jordan asks if they can take Sarah home, and Sam agrees. Tegan tells Jonathan that she'll stay at the party.
Superman questions the captive Leslie about where Morgan went. Leslie tells Superman that he's always one step behind, and Lois works out that Morgan has made himself the Eradicator. They figure that Morgan will go to make more subjects.
As Sam drives back, Morgan lands in the road ahead of them. The vehicle slams into Morgan and flips several times. Sam tells his grandsons to get the Kryptonite-loaded pistol out of the glove compartment. Jonathan crawls up, and Sam directs him on how to shoot. When Jonathan shoots, Morgan flies away, rips open the truck, pulls Jordan out, and flies away with him.
Jonathan tells Sarah to go home and get Kyle, and Sam tells him to find the ELT and contact Superman with it. Superman gets the signal and flies there, and Jonathan tells him what happened.
Morgan takes Jordan to a missile silo and trains energy on him. Superman, flying above the earth, hears Jordan's screams of pain but can't determine where they're going to. He flies to Metropolis and tells Lois that Morgan took Jordan. She breaks into tears and her husband holds her, and admits that he doesn't know what they're going to do.
Morgan finishes his energy bombardment, and Jordan stands up, now possessed by Zeta-Ro. Jordan's eyes glow, and Zeta-Ro tells Morgan that it's time to begin.
